i dunno why, but i think you fail comparing

you asked for a service, cutting hair, he's just cutting your hair, and he doesnt want your hair.

you can bring it home if you want to.

okay, so i see you are the ones supporting original.

not that i condone piracy, but some contents, are not available in malaysia. how?
*
That one of course people will pirate regardless of whether it's right or wrong.

Same like banned books or movies.. Govt ban.. what happens? people go download illegally.

I hate censorship as much as the next guy, but some people confuse censorship with the right to pirate, so much so that even when got legal alternative still pirate.

so why not track those that abuse the websites then?
so you punish the file hosters because "most" of their contents are illegal, great
Good question. Why haven't they? Now before I begin saying anything, I wish not to repeat a history of argument I made a few days back where one is barking and another is meowing. All my earlier post are largely on illegal act of piracy itself, NOT the act of SKMM to ban those websites.

I have made another post in another thread on why they resort to such methods (since that is your argument). My answer is simple, lazy arses. They're taking the easy way out assuming after complaints by TM since their customers are hogging bandwidth for illegal usage. So with the mask of act against piracy, they're blocking such websites with very little intention to actually combat piracy. I for one am more happy if they go and sue each pirates. IIRC there was a case of someone being sued for USD$2000 for every single mp3 he download. Boy now that is awesome.

QUOTE(maxpudding @ Jun 14 2011, 01:36 PM)
oh boi you don't read that much, do you? Some have made complaints to MCMC due to their interrupted works done due to the blockage, in the early hours of the block, a few legal users complaint they can't send their notes to other researchers overseas due to that...so they made a complaint, albeit their numbers are few, their complaint still valid, no?
file hosters = legal
abusing file hosters by uploading copyrighted materials = illegal
I do and my sympathies to these people. Although you don't seem to read either. They are valid, sure. But my point is padan muka towards the pirates. Not towards the one with legal usage. Although one funny things is, whenever this kind of argument pops up, they will ALWAYS use these poor people for their own greedy self. I'm not talking about you per se, but there are a few people quoting these people just to worm off that they want a way out so they can continue pirating. Sad really using other people misfortune for their own advantage. Kinda like torrent and linux distro. I mean, how many people even torrent linux distro? And yet it never fails to be mentioned. I myself get it from direct download as quite a few distro provides direct downloads.

i sense this coming.

they block this, later they will be like, since you all said that you used those websites for uploading important and non pirated stuff,

then we will established sites only for malaysians.

which will involve money, of course.

Employee: "They hackers boss, will cause trouble"

Boss: "What trouble? They are malaysians, where got skill?"

My workplace always got the other newspapers. (BH/UT)

Have they ever reported online or tech related news?
Berita dalam negara = good sauce.
Berita lain lain = no so much.

I'm actually impressed the star.com.my caught it early actually. Someone in their news department is actually following tweets for news. smile.gif

ah you're still here

most people nowadays can afford computers.

but the think is, not all can afford legal softwares.

and thos softwares, comes with a price, like spss, adobe, they are too expensive,

especially to a student.

censorship, is another issue, no one likes it, we are old enough to think for ourselves.

but i see, a lot of content is blocked or not available in this country. music, movies.

It is conspiracy. BN will hire people to hack goverment sites, then blame on Anwar, LGE/LKS and Niz Aziz. Then arrest all of them in one fell swoop. Next day GE.

ddos is not hacking ok.

oh btw, MY gomen isn't stupid enough to put important information such as mykad info etc etc on a public website.

Yes, because IMO, the govt believes mainstream media corrupts the minds of malaysians. Simply put, that imply that Malaysians aren't the type to think for themselves. Based on the internet forums.. can you blame them? tongue.gif

SPSS and Adobe got student packages. Unfortunately you should blame the Uni's for not fulfilling their responsibility so they can provide their students with bulk student discounted software. I also didn't know about it when I was a student. (>_>).. After working only know about all these...
