The other option is to opt for larger front disc brakes, but may need JPJ inspection + rim change.

yup i think i better find out properly before changing pad just now while looking for brake pads, one blm owner change brake pad to mintex and end up overheating the and spoil the rotor. sweat.gif
*
On track day?

Normal driving shouldn't happen.

I dunno what pads I'm using (DAMN that sounds wrong), but downhill Genting, with stepping on the brakes quite a lot, it does not fade/overheat that easily. Mine's definitely not OEM as my fren's Persona OEM pads overheated.

Fan only runs if ignition is on "start car" position. But when key is turned to "Accesories" position, rad fan is shut down!  sad.gif

In old Sagas, as long as key is not removed, rad fan runs till temp is down.  tongue.gif
*
How to compare with old Saga bro. Old Saga is a Lancer, this new Saga has no relation whatsoever with the Lancer tongue.gif

QUOTE(pravred @ Jun 13 2011, 10:27 PM)
he said when come down genting got smoke and brake stop functioning, scary lah.he stop for a while than later continue down, later normal driving also heating up and got screeching sound.
*
He spamming the brakes ka? I think it's driver problem more than brake pad problem lo.

i continued reading his problem and later he found out that the brake pad didn't suit blm rotor cause it can't stand high temp need to change to aftermarket rotors.he changed back to stock than ok redi.i think i will just change to something slightly better duwan to change to sports kinda pads and end up spending more money.huh this week brake pads shopping.

Do update us on the brakepads that you will buy

thn anyone can go try and report it here
drum brake sucks...not sure why car manufacturer still using them??
mainly becuz it's cheap only
*
Well, it serves it's purpose, right?

Sylphy 2.0 rear drum brakes.

Even the new Chevrolet Sonic also rear drum brakes.

guys, can recommend me which SC besides puchong and SK better? I dont mind going far, heard that SC in Shah Alam quite good as their mechanic is more experience, is that true? May I know what is the SC name?

Really really appreciate if any owner here can give me some suggestion.

Many thanks
*
Well, the one in Shah Alam is the Center Of Excellence.

Unlike my fren who wanted to claim his IAFM and waited 3 days, I got mine on the spot and its covered under warranty.

Well, Proton sells their cars to cover their R&D costs, then what about Perodua? Hmm

QUOTE(jerrymouse @ Jun 13 2011, 10:44 PM)

i just got a brake pad as stock few month ago....thinking of changing it soon
got it from automotive garage called "ceramic NAO"
their reviews are quiet good...u can try
i buy it mainly it's ceramic...less dust....the temperature also quiet high
*
Less dust means eat into rotor more, and vice versa.

Mine also not much dust doh.gif

but they have to think abt aftersales also
if everyone also go back SC and claim rear brake problem
that's a big cost there...lol
install disc brake...they won't even come back

p2 one is all profit...they dn't even have R&D...all rebadge
at start already profit...somemore the price is more expensive than car that is designed from scratch
*
Well, personally I'd rather have stuck brakes than stuck accelerators
