In a double storey house where the PC is upstairs and the TV is downstairs, are there lots of wires snaking all over the house?

Are all the equipment like the BTU, RG & STB connected to each other via wires?

I thought the STB needs to connect to the TV via HDMI?

To get full speed for downloads, my PC must connect to the RG right?

Hi, i just registered for unifi few days ago. Would like to ask if the 60gb limit is imposed already on the vip 5 package? And one more question is if i watch the tv channels provided by unifi will it affect my download limit if the limit is imposed.

Because the IPTV and Internet uses different VLAN, an extra step will be required if you would like your IPTV to be connected through a homeplug. For all the computers using the Internet with a homeplug, you can just use the auto-setup feature commonly found in most homeplugs these days. For IPTV however, connect it to your computer and use the provided utility by the manufacturer, you will need to setup both the homeplugs that will be used for IPTV to be on its own private network.

Reason is if you don't separate this way, both VLANs for Internet and IPTV will clash and that's why the IPTV won't work.

Hey all, I've a question. Say if that downloading games from Steam and streaming videos have been taking ages(roughly 3 hours for a half-an-hour episode) recently, but I've a stable latency in gaming. So I guess its the cap's effect? VIP5 subscriber here.

Can someone enlighten me on this?

I unplugged Stremayx Router, turned off the switch, then plugged Unifi router to the switch and turned the switch on. I tried different ports on the switch and router but still have problem to connect to internet.

Do we need switch with VLAN support to connect Unifi?

I am using Levelone brand's switch and model number is FSW-1650. Product information can be found from here Levelone - FSW-1650

The Unifi contractor tested the connection through direct network connection to laptop and it worked well. However, the contractor said they are not responsible for any networking configuration.

Currently, I am able to surf from WIFI and also direct network connection between laptop and Unifi router. But when I connected the Unifi router to my switch to share internet with all workstation. The internet just didn't work for sharing with workstations. My office networking is only simple Windows networking sharing. Only workgroup and no server installed.

My friend said that I need to upgrade my switch to VLAN support switch to be able to connect Unifi and share with workstation. Is that correct? Or do I have other choice to solve this?
