please view the video again.... not the autogate not strong... i think is the installation or the product problem. Do u all notice, there are no lock mechanism at the center(both door when shut)? Ordinary autogate come with a locking devices at the center of both door... that's to prevent ppl to open it by force...

Would have been different if there are dogs. Not necessarily German Shepherd or Rottweiler or any particular guard dogs, I think a Mongrels or two would have been good enough. But don't expect your Chihuahua to guard your house la... That's why I am keeping guard dogs for my house!!! Hell yeah!

You have to ask the EM lock installer, if the EM are weather proof any train installer will be able to do it. The center part, on the door itself have a solenoid and this will prevent the door from being force out. Just like when no electric, use the key to turn the solenoid and push the gate open. This are all the older generation auto door. The newer version some don't have the center solenoid. This post has been edited by weikee: Jun 18 2011, 11:58 PM

Getting Started

Haha, good CCTV image, poor autogate system.
Sue the autogate contractor, You are short changed !!!
Proper system should have a "auto lock" on the floor where the 2 side gate meet. Contractor to lazy to install as they need to enclose wiring in the concrete ground also.
With the auto lock, you need to be very strong to pull your gate open and this 5 to 10 seconds should give you a time window to save yourself.

This part of the auto gate is also the safety hazard. People (especially old folks or visitors) can trip over the rubber piece that is fixed to the floor.

Wouldn't say if the video is fake or not. But, generally the auto gate would not be able to be push open so easily as shown in the video. The auto gate system could be faulty or it was tempered with.

Because of this video, I insisted my autogate guy to install the centre locking solenoid thing. It seems easy. They just cut hole in one gate and push a few cables through. Attach to the little box in the middle and connect it up.
