mine is quite laggy when compared to my previous Froyo 2.2.1 ler... sweat.gif

but this Voodoo Lagfix seems quite promising and straightforward:

http://project-voodoo.org/installation

Installation
How to install Voodoo for Galaxy S ? You have 2 options :

Please make sure your battery has enough juice left or that your on charger, the operation can take several minutes and you wouldn’t want it to be interrupted.

You can install newer versions over previous without a hitch but as I tuned some minor Ext4 parameters, you can disable/enable the lagfix. This is optional.

Update.zip method (recommended; computer not required):

Copy the Voodoo package as /sdcard/update.zip at the root of your SD Card.
Reboot into recovery using the 3 button combo for your phone or “adb reboot recovery”
Apply update.zip
Enjoy !

Here is a printscreen of my battery usage for my SGS running on F1 JVP V5 with Kernel Dark Core 2.7.3.  Its on Airplane mode all the time and so far the battery usage under standby is very good.

Btw, what is your budget?  Are you the kind of person who would like to flash your phone's firmware and do a lot of customisation?  If not, then stay away from Samsung phone.  Out of the box they are not good at all.

- you should have got DXJV9 as it is the official rom south east Asia region which is a later and a better rom than JVO. Is yours an AP set? You can either upgrade to DXJV9 or XXJVP and then flash one of the custom kernels to enable lagfix or find a compatible kernel for jvo to enable lagfix.
- that battery graph is in-built into gingerbread rom. Try finding it in the settings.

You can also use a kies hack to trick kies into thinking that you have a south east Asia rom. Then kies will upgrade yours to DXJV9. See first page.

But if you want, you could try using odin to flash the latest gb XXJVP 2.3.4

actaully its same like other rom.
1. download XXJVP file
2. unzip the file.
3.open odin 1.3
4. put PDA_XXJVP.tar.md5 into PDA section, PHONE_XXJVP.tar.md5 into phone section, CSC_OXAJVP.tar.md5 into CSC section.
5. put 512 pit into PIT section (this is optional. with or without pit is ok)
6. turn your phone int download mode (hold volume down + home button + power button)
7. plug in your phone via usb to computer.
8. check message area in odin , you should see "added"
9. DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING!
10. press start.

normally wont. already flash a lot of rom before but never change before. for safe, go to root explorer or sgs tool and backup efs file.

XME will change because xxjvp is not for asia. but you can easily key in the APN setting. Refer first page APN setting.
