Never buy cooling pad because as I know the position of proc of each lappy wasnt the same.. tats why the design of fans cant be accurate.. Wat I did is to put 2 wood by the sides of lappy <<< make the centre part have more place to release heat den to stick with the table surface..

cooling pads are just tools to help in cooling down your laptop. it doesnt directly cool your laptop. it works the same as airconds.. temperature drops are pretty much user defined. say i have a laptop with a huge heatsink, definitely the temp drop will be significant. what if user A uses a 14" and user B uses a 17"? of course user B records more tempeature drop.

Very true ... which is why its so hard to recommend/ buy a good cooler nowadays since a good one for my laptop doesn't mean it'll be good for someone else's

Getting Started

Then does that mean getting a 9 cell batter for the xps 15 has a better cooling coz it has tilted the lappy up? Then can it still be place on a cooler pad if more cooling is needed? This post has been edited by linkz: Jun 9 2011, 10:22 AM

As for cooling, you'd probably need a cooler pad when you're running intensive stuffs anyway, in which you'd probably be connecting the A/C (and the battery removed), so its still better to use a cooler

Yeah, it'll be difficult... if the user is using U2 or U3, it'll definitely slide haha But its not a big problem actually since most users won't be running insanely resource consuming stuffs on battery; and they won't be attaching the battery when running resource intensive stuffs
