Thanks, RegentCid for the infomation.

My family travel plan.
Travel: 17 Nov to 23 Nov 2012.

Plan: Kl --> Osaka --> Tokyo --> Osaka --> KL
We plan to stay in Tokyo for 2 days and Osaka for 4 days. Maybe when we arrive at Osaka Airport, we plan to take the bullet train to Tokyo and stay there for 2 days.
What is the recommended plan for us.

Is there any those original Japan home stay type? Those sleep on floor & those wooden house type?

That is the rough plan for us as this is the first time we all go to Japan.
*
17/11 - arrive Osaka 3.55pm, then shinkansen to Toyko already night time
18/11 - tokyo
19/11 - tokyo
20/11 - osaka
21/11 - osaka
22/11 - osaka
23/11 - depart Osaka 9.30am

basically you only have 5 full days in Japan. 1st day and last day wasted on flight. Plan your trip wisely. You should not skip Kyoto. it's just 30min from Osaka and it's a very nice and beautiful city and autumn is the best time to visit kyoto.

get a trusted travel agent to do it for you. just pay them for some fees and you will get your visa easily. my friend from miri applied through Brunei if not mistaken. all done by travel agent.

oh can do that? maybe i will ask around for the travel agent...thanks!

if u want hose kind of ryokans, sadly to say you wont get those in generic city such as osaka.
not sure if u can try shiga, hakone, but best bet u need to go so far on the alps for those(hit springs villages) or west japan, as even suburbs of big cities wont give you that

For Japan visa application for husband and wife. Do both of us need to declare our possesion saperately? I mean if minimum requirement to entry Jap is 12k for both, so do i declare as:

1) Myself (RM10k), Wife (RM2k)
2) Myself (RM6k), Wife (RM6k)

Thanks

I'm not too familiar with Osaka so I can't comment much but I've been to Kyoto twice.
However, I can say that your current plans for the 2 days in Kyoto is almost impossible to achieve.

You need to calculate in the time to travel from one place to the next.
Unless you plan to take taxi from one spot to the other, you'll be spending some time either waiting for the bus or walking to the subway and walking from subway to each of the destination. This adds up.

You might want to reconsider some of the places you plan to visit and if you think you can skip it, I advice that you do.
That way you'll have a more enjoyable trip admiring each of the places rather than just rushing from one point to the next.

Hey Nasizwan its been awhile, how's Japan treating you? Btw about the modelling job, Yup boleh kaya hehe...my friend made 50,000 over just by participating in a fashion show. 50,000yen for a one time job, life is sweet...but u gotta find an agent first, I'm sure your wife can help you with that thumbup.gif

Btw, I've been here for 5 years, never registered with MSAJ, the Malaysian Students Association Japan and I've been doing just fine...but its good to know some Malaysians though in case of anything. But wouldn't be a problem at all even if you don't register with them, I think.

Thanks, e-jump.

I had just found the hotel in Tokyo and Osaka.

Tokyo: http://www.sakura-hotel-ikebukuro.com/

Osaka: http://www.wmt-osaka.com/otemae/index.html

Both of them have the ryokan type of rooms but do not have onsen.

Edit: OTL: Long time never see you in anime shrine.

Yeah I was thinking the same too. I'm lazy to go there but it would be great to join them once in awhile on occasional basis
Woww 50k yen is pretty good money. I'll consider that
Japan life has been great. Still adapting to certain cultures and food but I'm doing pretty good at the moment
Job wise, I'm still looking. I had 2nd interview at Michaelpage Japan for consultant position last Friday. Waiting for their answer by middle of next week. Wish me luck
What do you do here ifana? I bet you have more opportunity than me since you're Japanese grad and speak nihon-go

Bed sizes here are pretty small. The size you mentioned is not king size bed.
It's double single. I have tried looking around for Queen size bed but seems no to avail
Due to space constraints here you sort know why
