MKV is just a container, not a video format. That's why you get some that will play and some that will not. It's all down to the licensing of video format. Tegra2 should be able to play most format but since Asus is reluctant to licence the format and pay royalty fees, therefore cannot officially support playback of these affected video format. If you look at Samsung, their can play quite a lot of format without needing aftermarket player.

Apple sells a lot more device therefore should encounter more problem. But Apple problem definitely more severe due to the fact they keep quiet about it and some customers can accept slight bleeding.

this in chinese called dun have such a big head dun wear such a big hat. Utterly disappointed at Asus this time. Have you ever considered the supposedly 200 'loyal' and 'supportive' customers that got your tablet without the keyboard when we saw ppl holding a full set few days after the launch? So is this is how you repay/treat us back for our support for your company? We paying the same price somemore plus the 2 hrs queue.

erm chrome sync not useful to me at all compared to the lag free typing I'm enjoying  now. anyway, if u have plenty of bookmatks that u need to have then u can make use of opera link and do the import from PC then sync to your tablet.

ps : on notebook my main browser is Firefox :-P

just got my TF from MTCS. do i need to charge the dock+tablet for 7hrs before i can turn it on?

i've called up evernew on friday and they did explain to me the stocks that the other resellers had are a separate full set batch but they are limited units. While it is not fair that we spent our time and hassle to line up and all that but didnt get the full set first, we were the first 200 to use the tablet first, which could count for something at least and given the free sleeve which is a small consolation. I'm not entirely happy with the situation either but i considered this: i dont have to fight with others later on to get the dock. Assuming I (or yourself) did not go to mid valley last saturday to get the tablet (and paid deposit/full amount for the dock), we would have to then fight with others to buy the full set units before the could have been potentially sold off (which i think some resellers are already out of stock but i think still got some might have full set available, no idea on this but i do know cycom is out of stock based on their thread). so this is the thing that i considered and i think we should be happy about this. We're still getting a fully functioning device, just not the full transformer set which hopefully we'll get it soon enough. I too want the keyboard dock now but its just something we have to live with. Truly bad marketing on asus side. I do somehow hope they surprise us and give us something free in return for our loyalty and patience as a customer although i kinda doubt it since we already got the sleeve..but we'll see...maybe we should complain more? i dont see anyone complaining on their facebook site

Bro.... Exactly the same issue I'm facing now....

1) not able to update from 3.0.1 to new version (3.1)
2) open browser and prompt to download flash, so follow the instruction but end up at the market shown not found!!!!

Saw the new Workaround for Country Error. Anyone using that method? I not really understand how it work? I downloaded Any Cut then make own shortcut to 'Hidden Proxy Settings'? I don't have this also.

u go into AnyCut, create new shortcut -> Activity -> Proxy setting, u can name the shortcut whatever u want, doesnt matter.

after that, go back home screen u can see a shortcut there with the name u put, tap on that, u can see proxy setting edi.. if u don see proxy setting menu, hit the "Back" button from setting until u are back to home screen, then tap on the shortcut again..
as for the one u asked, i leave it blank...

bcause i change the proxy at hidemyass, change the port but there no hostname so i just put anything ..
but after that it can't connect to my wifi ..
need to cancel the proxy and my wifi works again

For 720p movies mkv , it will play smoothly if the encode is using base profile. However most of the source available for download from internet are most likely encoded using high profile.

Yes iPad 1 or 2 both have bleeding issues and iPad 2 is as prominent as Transformer. Lotsa my friends noticing the bleeding on their pads too.

Oh and with regards to ad hoc wifi conectivity, our transformer are not capable of it by default,  in fact no honeycomb tablet can.however, if you are rooted then it can be done. All u need to do is to replace the wpa_supplicant file with a modified one. The file and steps can be easily found by googling or xda forum :-)

nope.. my transformers is at stock android 3.1.. actually i just created a wifi network using sensation's wifi hotspot features and the transformers just connect to the network using wifi..

I tether TF wit my iphone via wifi hotspot and no issues yet.

native 4.3 hotspot tethering? havent updated mine yet, so not sure how that tethering works... otherwise, those using MyWi or PDANET, it would be confirmed as Ad-Hoc networks

i use formatfactory (google it and it is freeware) to convert to divx/xvid, bitrate 2400/2500 then use yamb (google it again) to split the mp4 files to two parts so that it can be played/loaded up in rockplayer / moboplayer software decoding mode. seems that these players cannot "see" or load anything above 2gb of size, hence the splitting. Minor inconvenience but it works and you will get super smooth playback with 0 lags or jerkiness. You can play in hardware mode too but u will notice (like myself) that there is a minor lag / jerkiness in the video, the audio sync is ok but the video is somewhat jerky so this is the best method i've found so far to have smooth playback.

If the iOS 4.3 native wifi hotspot report itself as a router and it works on TF, I have to change my iPhone to iphone 4 then.

yes until one of the 200 customers threaten to bring the case to malaysia tribunal court...which i think that person must be very upset that the fact is, first 200 to get the tablet only but not with the dock which is quite lame and ridiculous.
