I have tried plugging in a USB drive, at the bottom right corner, android detected it and I can browse the content via the File Manager (that comes with Android). Copy, paste and delete without problem.
I tried connecting my USB 3G modem stick to it, nothing happened. The system can't detect it. So I assume, so far no driver for USB modem stick yet. Yeah, there is no jailbreak for iPad2 running on iOS 4.3.3 yet, a lot of people are waiting for it. Added on June 5, 2011, 5:58 pmFor the keyboard lag issue, if you are using the on screen keyboard, please use the default one which come with Android, don't use the Asus one, it will solve a little bit. QUOTE(deitylord @ Jun 5 2011, 11:20 PM) got mine yesterday from cycom Don't know how long google and asus need to take to solve this problem. It has been more than a week after the official launch in malaysia already. I found that this is not acceptable, even before the launch google and asus should have ironed out the issue else how are they going to give a good customer experience? That's why until now apple's product is still leading...still trying to get familiarize with the OS market error is annoying!!!!! Added on June 5, 2011, 11:27 pm QUOTE(-ZeN- @ Jun 5 2011, 08:34 PM) When I doc my pad onto the keyboard, the lock moved to the center only, it didn't move to the right most, should it be in the center or right most? the docking cnnection always get loose when i am moving around with the transfrmer. Of course i am holding the keyboard when i lift it, not the pad. Anyone got this problem? This post has been edited by littlekev: Jun 5 2011, 11:27 PM |

I have problem for the transformer to detect my wifi hotspot that created by my iPhone. Anyone did it before?
I was trying to use PDANET and myWI in iPhone to activate a wifi hotspot. Other windows based desktop and laptop are able to detect the SSID but not in transformer. I even try to manually key in the SSID and password but still can't use. Anyone knows why and how to overcome this? |

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Jun 6 2011, 11:16 AM) --> u go to asus global, find Transformer page, click download, then select ur OS as "Android" Must be memory card? Can I copy it to a USB drive instead?--> download the WW firmware(remember to double confirm it's WW, not TW nor US),it's a zip file, and it's gonne be around 200+ MB if i remember correctly --> after finish download, extract it out the zip file, u will see a folder "Asus", with some contents inside --> copy the whole "Asus" folder to your memory card's root --> take out the memory card --> put it back in --> u will see the notification there, it will have a triangle notification saying "System File Detected" --> tap on it, and it will say "Tap to confirm upgrade" or something similar --> tap on it, after a few confirmation message, it will start reboot and flashing. --> have fun also, u can downgrade your firmware or reflash your firmware from custom to stock using this method as well Added on June 6, 2011, 11:18 am same problem here, the reason is because the iPhone's network is an Ad-Hoc, and so far what i understand is that Transformer default WiFi config(that we cant change) filter off Ad-Hoc networks, if u want tether using iPhone, use bluetooth tethering, works like a charm for me... also, for WiFi users, avoid using channel 13(dunno about the rest), the last time my router automatically choose that channel, my transformer cant detect its network anymore |

Ya wor, regardless of me using PDANET or mywi apps, they will broadcast themselves as ad-hoc network instead of a normal wifi router.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that later. |

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Jun 6 2011, 11:25 AM) native 4.3 hotspot tethering? havent updated mine yet, so not sure how that tethering works... otherwise, those using MyWi or PDANET, it would be confirmed as Ad-Hoc networks If the iOS 4.3 native wifi hotspot report itself as a router and it works on TF, I have to change my iPhone to iphone 4 then. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 6 2011, 11:35 AM) what iphone are you using? i think iphone 3gs can still update to the latest OS. otherwise, consider getting a new android phone. I am using iPhone 3GS, yes, can update to the latest iOS but wifi hotspot feature will not be available to it. That's how Apple going to phase out the 3GS slowly. |

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Jun 6 2011, 11:50 AM) not slowly, it will be phrased out officially Tuesday 1Am local time, when Steve announce iOS 5... rumor says 3GS will not have it Oh yes, that's what I heard from rumors too. Sad!!!Added on June 6, 2011, 12:05 pmJust tested with my friend's iphone 4 native wifi hotspot, it will broadcast itself as infrastructure mode (router) instead of adhoc / peer-to-peer network. TF can detect it without problem. So now the conclusion is, either i change iphone 4 or root my TF. :| This post has been edited by littlekev: Jun 6 2011, 12:05 PM |

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Jun 6 2011, 02:02 PM) cheapest and easiest would be just bluetooth tethering, works fine actually, i used mine that way too Because my native bluetooth tethering method can't work too... OMG! But ended up I can make it work with mywi bluetooth tethering. So consider as problem solved for a while.it's like that, wait for a day or so.... i also like that, maybe is some after flash thing, dunno why >.< |

I'm now in Asus service center waiting for them to check the issues on my unit.
1. The left speaker area, there is a dent. 2. Found a dent at the docking connector. 3. The pad always get loose from the keyboard dock. |

I wanna root my machine and I follow the guide from here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106587. I managed to downgrade the version to 8239. After downgraded, restarted, Android keep telling me a lot of processes need to be terminated or force close. Is it a norm?

When I press the volume down and power, I saw the volume status keep reducing and then the system ask me want to shutdown or not. Should I respond to it or continue holding both buttons?
Wipe means all the installed apps will be gone, right? After the wipe, I can proceed to root it? |
