i just noticed this widget DOES show the exact charge amount that the dock is running. Excellent!!

I have the same thinking like you, i don't know the batt status in the keyboard.

I did ask in the Asus Midvalley shop before, they said they will sell this type of casing for our TF but not sure when the stock will arrive, maybe by the end of this month.

android doesnt have built in office apps but the eee pad transformer does come bundled with polaris office where u can use it to open/save office files. however do note that the format that it can save is office 2003 formats only but i've been told that it can open up office 2007 files (like .docx, .pptx, etc).
*
Yes, confirm it can open 2007 format but can only save as 2003, that's why I don't use it anymore.

Alternative solution, I am using Documents To Go.

Yes, Docs2Go can open password protected file. I always use it to open my excel 2007 file which is protected by password.

this is something to think about...

some ppl believe its not good to charge the battery all the time. these ppl believe battery should be sufficiently drained before we charge it.

with the dock, the tablets gets charged all the time until the dock runs out of juice.

so, how? does that mean we can charge our tablet while its at 90%?
*
I have the same concern as well. Don't know good or not to let the keyboard dock keep charging the pad.

So far with the keyboard dock and the pad, I managed to charge it once every 2 days. Let's say I disconnect from Monday morning, I will only charge it on Tuesday night before I sleep and that left with 30% as well.

hi, are you using the full version docs2go? can it edit office documents with ease?
*
So far I didn't try with extensive and heavy editing on any office docs, all these while I am using Docs2Go to edit some simple data only.

this question about battery is a bit subjective and have been debated for so long without a concrete answer. Some manuals actually ask u to charge the battery at every chance u get !!

to me,its very simple,  i buy the transfomer to serve me, not the other way round. So as long as within its life span it can serve me with the battery juice that i need, it doesnt matter how  it is charged. any degradation would only take place after a year or two, by then dunno what story liao lor haha
*
Totally agree with you, that's how I use my phone as well. If I know that I need to go out later and the phone left with 50%, I will still charge it til 100% before I leave the house. Unlike some people scared or too sayang of their batt, left with 50% also don't want to charge and he/she knows that they are going out for whole day, how la the 50% going to last you for a day.

i'm not very sure abt this... but if you are talking about tablets, they can't run too far off.

in the first place, currently there are very few 10" tablets in the market. the variations are more likely to be... USB ports on tablets? screen technology? OS updates? i think most would have Tegra 2 chipset anyway... smile.gif

i'd think that the current 10" tablets in market would eventually all be getting HC3.1 anyway. i think Xoom and TF already have this. Iconia should be on its way...

if you want developer support, i guess one way is to check XDa forum and see which tablet has a section there. smile.gif

same here. phone and notebook stays charged when i'm using it in office. phone gets charged usually in the morning.

so i guess tablet is no different then.

so now... 1 concern i have & i need to monitor... i felt my charge quite hot when i was charging both the dock and tablet 2 nights back. so far, seems only i have this problem. defective charger?!? sad.gif
*
You mean the charger is very hot? Mine too.

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Jun 13 2011, 11:26 AM)
why does it sound like you either have an ipad or other android tablet instead of the transformer? cos if you actually read reviews all over the world, you'd see that everyone is raving about this device until there's shortages everywhere especially the keyboard dock bundle. The keyboard dock is different than any other for the following reasons:

1) Transformer keyboard dock VS apple IPAD / IPAD 2's keyboard dock accessory : Transformer's dock allows you to dock the tablet directly with the dock in LANDSCAPE mode unlike IPAD / IPAD 2's (you're docking it wrong concept) which docks the device in PORTRAIT mode..i mean come on, if you want to type an email, isn't it better to type in landscape mode where you have mode real estate screen space?

2) Transformer's keyboard dock has an extra battery in it claiming to increase the battery life up to 16 hours together with the tablet when both are in full charge

3) Transformer's keyboard dock has 2 USB ports and a full sized SD. Sure, there are some tablets like the acer iconia already having USB ports on the tablet itself, but if you're ok with having just a tablet with no keyboard dock, go ahead and get the iconia if it serves your purpose well.

4) Did I mention that the transformer's keyboard dock has dedicated trackpad built into it, with a single button that can differentiate between left and right click? Right click functionality behaves like the android OS back button. Also, the transformer keyboard has dedicated shortcut keys to the android OS itself such as back button, wireless toggle, bluetooth toggle, brightness setting, screenshot (YES!), browser, media player controls, volume controls, screen lock..you get the picture..if you were to be getting a normal bluetooth keyboard or standard USB keyboard, i doubt the function keys on it would be able to interact with the OS as shortcut keys for the functions i just listed. What more could you ask for??

So there you have it. I've rolled out the great features about the dock. Its really something, not your average tablet + keyboard dock combo. For the price of the keyboard dock which is RM 300 (if you buy the bundle pack tablet + keyboard dock that is), it is a lot more worth it compared to ipad's RM 229 keyboard dock that doesnt have any extra battery pack, no extra usb ports for plugging in external storage/keyboard/mice, no SD card reader..how's that for special ? tongue.gif

anyone usng the TF with a BT mouse? I find the trackpad a little too sensitive and sometimes repositions the cursor while typing...
*
Agree with you, that's why when I do typing, I turn off the trackpad to avoid mis-clicked.

Conclusion is, you can roam around lowyat plaza or digital mall or even sunway IT center (heard from the above threads someone bought from there too) and definitely you can get one.

I have just started to use this browser this morning, so far it gave me a better user experience compare against the default browser and skyfire. Good to hear that they have a new update for it.

yeap this works, but you have to turn off the "mobiledock battery saving mode" in the settings -> display section for this to work. otherwise it will go into some sort of deep sleep mode to save battery life.
*
Thanks. I didn't even notice this settings. No wonder sometimes, when i press the button again, it doesn't seem to be responding to me and I need to press a few more times.

Ah, that works.Didnt know there is an additional setting in the Display section. Thanks guys!
Anyne of u find that the keyboard presses are not as sensitive as a "normal" keyboard? I find myself missing letters pretty frequently.Look at the "Anyone" from my previous sentence. A very common occurence. Kinda annoying sometimes.
*
That's my experience when I use it too, just like new keyboards, the keys usually harder to press, so I just keep telling myself to type harder and don't be too soft. Now most of the keys are ok already, I don't have to type too hard anymore.

mydragoon, you might want to add this page or link to your first page for honeycomb optimized apps: http://www.transformerforums.com/forum/asu...-apps-list.html
