So bad?..  hmm.gif you drove aggressively  ?

30L for 450KM is actually average.... works out to 15KM/L. i'm in penang... and i get 16km/L (100% city jam). so it's around the same for city driving (my eco button on 90%, single passenger).

Eco mode most of the time on. 100 percent city driving though. Aircon set on auto so its usually about half blast. Most of the time 2/3 people in the car at the time. Any other info needed? I hear some people claiming to hit like 600km on a 30 litre tank so that's like quite high. Wondering whether there's a problem with my car. I don't drive aggresively, ie no sudden braking or quick acceleration so I don't know the actual problem. Thanks much!

perhaps yr FC will increase after 2nd servicing/oil change.

hi guys .. first time posting here ...been following this thread on Honda Insight ... I am have just completed ready V1 .. now onto V2.

My SA just called me ... I can get the White Insight this month and if I want Silver it will be end of July.

So I got these next 2 days to decide if I want white or silver.

So just wondering is it difficult to maintain white color ? I mean I don't wash my car every week .... will the color fade ? turn yellow ? etc.

Thank guys .... keep up the good work!

Can't wait to get the Insight ... been poisoned like crazy since I started reading the thread here in LY tongue.gif

speaking from experience having a white Insight - it's definitely the toughest color to take care of properly. i wash my car every wkend... and still i find it gets dirty easily, esp under our weather.

will the color fade - eventually, yes. but that's true of any color regardless... how fast it fades/turn to cream color all depends how often u wash, where u park (under direct sunlight each day) etc.

go with what your heart tells you. i love my white - no regrets even tho its hard to take care of this color smile.gif

Make sure it drops down all the way.

If not, u'll have the risk of that screw thrown up into engine components when u going through uneven roads or speedbumps.

Even worst if its thrown toward radiator fan stuck in between fan blade and radiator. It can cut through radiator vents when the fan spin. Ever happened.

Or the screw (metal is it?) thrown and stuck around IMA motor wiring & cabels = short circuit.

You can open the bottom panel by removing 6 screws (metal), 2 plastic screw clip at the rear end and 2 tab clip at the front end. make sure u properly jack-up the car.

The HID make helluva difference in both light throw performance and cosmetic improvement during the night. Make sure you replace the parking lights to SMD5050 type too. Hehe myself saw pedestrians head turn...sometime twice to view the car front end.  wub.gif

How is your Hella Supertone doing? Using stock relay no problem? If everything is good, I'll place an order soon too. Man the stock pinn pinnn horn sux big time sweat.gif

My Hellas are one word: AWESOME rclxms.gif rclxms.gif So worth the USD 50 paid for it.

After installed DIY myself, realized it was still "not loud enough". So brought it to my mechanic... who reassembled it. Fixed it onto a longer metal bar (spacing both horns out equal distance from each other), added another relay w/direct connect to the batt terminal.

Now, it's DAMN F-ING LOUD. Ear actually pain if stand in front and I horn. Oh Yeah Baby biggrin.gif

Have some photos of the install work. Upload later.

Sharing some stories of before-and-after scenarios...

Before (shitty Insight OEM horn): Horn Kelisa trying to cut in front. Kelisa ignores and cut in anyway. I curse. Kelisa 1 - Insight 0
After (118dB Hella SuperTone): Horn Kelisa trying to cut in front. Kelisa suddenly brake & keep to her lane quietly. Insight 1 - Kelisa 0.

Before (shitty Insight OEM horn): Horn ******* Audi trying to cut left cut right. Audi laughs. Cut in anyway. I curse. Audi 1 - Insight 0
After (118dB Hella SuperTone): See ******* Audi from far trying to do NFS stunt. Start horning... cont'd horn for 3-5 secs to show 'garangness'. Audi brake. Decide not to cut. Lets me go first. Then he cuts someone else. Insight 1 - Kelisa 0.

biggrin.gif

Slim type RM150.00 with 15months warranty. Bought it from LYN forumer. Self installed so installation FOC  blush.gif

Slim type = meaning for your H11 main lamp/bulbs? Don't know what 'slim type' means... but RM150 for a HID set is a really good deal (esp w/15 mths warranty!)

Sharing some photos of my Hella SuperTone installation work:

Mounting the twin-tone horns (one low tone, one high tone) on a mounting rail (the rail came from my mechanic who happened to have a spare). I wanted to space the horns apart, by at least 2-3 feet between them, so the sound is clear:

user posted image

After measuring off, mount the horns on the rail and secure tightly:

Forgot to snap a photo post-install, but here's my horns when I did it myself (without a proper mounting rail that you see above). After I tested out this install, found out it's not as loud as it should be, so drove to my mechanic and ask him re-do (mount on bracket + rewire using thicker wire + add 1 more relay):

VERY satisfied w/my horns now. Sound comes out clearly... just behind the center grille (can see the horns if you squat down in front of H emblem).

Am going to enjoy these horns for a long looooong time smile.gif

Here's the actual horns I bought from Amazon, in case anyone's interested (can't find these sold in Penang, maybe you guys in KL will have better luck)... USD 52/set as of today: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002MA03..._rev_prod_title

Slim type means the ballast and ignitor are separate unit, well actually doesn't matter slim or normal type.
As for bulb type, Insights low beam and fog lamp both are H11. High beam is HB3.

I see. Interesting. Snap photo of your HIDs when it's on? smile.gif

Funny that the price differences across HID kits can be so huge - you got yours for RM150, while an accessories shop in Penang is quoting RM800 for a HID kit (they claim it's from Korea, 12 mth guarantee, UV coated).

The price diff is so huge - I wonder why...

Hey actually I prefer your installation, neater without the rail. Its the 30A relay that produce the 118db. The stock not enough juice to give these Supertone the boost.
*
That's what I thought too at first (my installation, horns side-by-side)... but the problem w/that was that 1) both horns are touching each other, which I don't like, and more importantly 2) the 2nd horn is right behind the H emblem... sound a bit blocked from coming out.

I did a before/after test (just by moving positions of the horns)... found out you get slightly better (sharper/clearer/louder) sound if you space them apart. Also helps that the new position I found has the horn right behind the grille, so the sound is not blocked too much.

(Yes, I can be quite anal/demanding about my horns. Only the best to squeeze the most out of them smile.gif

Different people, different taste bro. ;-)

For me Mugen is too sporty. Modulo is the middle ground. And for me Rm2K is ok since HM selling it for Rm4.8K.

Might mix Modulo kit with Mugen spoiler.. I've seen some pics, not bad really. But that gotta wait til got budget first.

Cheers on your new kit!
*
IMHO, I would not spend $$ on bodykits... as I'm more of a practical guy, and prefer spending $$ on stuff that is more practical/benefits you, the driver. Plus my office got damn lot of speedbumps, so my bodykit sure koyak one.

Anyway, to each his own - no denying your ride looks good w/the kit. As long as you're happy, go for it smile.gif

Yeah I did asked about the white powdery substance when I first got my car a month ago but nobody reply to my question. I wipe it off and doesn't seem to appear anymore. The rusty part not that bad yet but can see the stain and start to show sign of rust will appear soon.
*
i also had the same suspicious fine, white powdery substance. kind of like superfine "bedak"... with no smell.

wondered what it was. and yes, wiped it off, and it came back. weird.

so many things wanna install/ buy:

boot tray
door step garnish
reverse camera
carpet
super loud horn
tint

but i think the main priority is the horn, tint and reverse camera.
the horn like 'farting' sound. no one bother when i horn haha.
*
the super loud horn is #1 on my list, after tinting smile.gif

would recommend the Hella SuperTone range. but it's hard to find around here... retails for USD 50 on Amazon (if you have US friends coming here, can ask them buy and bring back for you). see some of my previous posts on this forum, for photos of the horn (check out some YouTube vids of the horn sound too).
