The powder is super-fine... no smell... and doesn't seem to be leaking from anywhere... as far as I can tell.

Just got my seat replaced coz of the stupid "knocking" sensation felt at the back of the seat. Warranty claimed took 1.5 weeks. Got it fixed within 5 hours. Well, sent the car to the SC 10am, got it back 3pm.

The problem is the white PLASTIC thing shown on this pic, (for those who wanna know how the inside of the seat looks like). According to the Service manager, this is the only seat so far for Honda, which comes with the white supportive part as PLASTIC, instead of Metal. So he's looking at many warranty claims to come later in the future, he also say headache when he saw the part made of plastic instead of metal.

So yeah, this is part and parcel of Honda trying to reduce costs.... (or trying to make the car lighter) by putting in plastic supportive back seats. (or watever they call it). He say "heavy" people will tend to come back more for this seat warranty -.- . Or some ppl having certain "activities" in their cars. haha.
Honda if you're reading this, pls recall the seats!
so moral of the story - if want to do notti things in yr IN2 backseat, faster go do before yr warranty is up! smile.gif

Guys I need help:
I took my insight to the guys on the lowyat forum with to smoke the headlamp.
I noticed after doing the smoked headlamp that when I turn on the lights the lens looked quite dirty (the halogen lamp) to my horror there are scratches on the lens on the inside.  Now I don't know what to do.  My options are
1. buy a whole new set of honda insight headlamps which will cost a bomb and not sure where to buy only found some on ebay for rm1300
2. try to find some place that can get rid of the scratches inside the lens
3. upgrade to eagle eye lights but the problem is they are not even out for honda insight
Please help help help
*
if you are in PG... i can recc you my mechanic who can strip open yr headlamp... and replace just the lens itself. if you're from KL, sorry... wish i could help. suggest finding a mechanic there... who can do the same for yr car?

yes, insurer will want to view your car (i just added w/screen coverage to my car +3 mths after i bought it). so you might have to pay the bill fully for this one. check w/yr insurer anyway...

Two days after having Insight, I still haven't got a chance to read the owners manual. So far my likes and dislikes -

Likes -
1. iPhone works! Wow can select albums playlist artist etc. I knew earlier can play but didn't realise that it can really do selection just like the special iPod kit found in my mercedes. Best of all can even charge the iPhone  rclxms.gif

2. Auto lights and if I'm not mistaken auto wiper too. Again mostly found on contis.

Dislikes -
1. Getting a fair bit of vibration. Dunno from where but suspect the tires. Any comments?
2. Wish the door would auto lock. Ask SA at service centre they say they don't modify
3. Wish wing mirrors would auto fold in. Why they don't include this as standard?
4. Only one remote provided - how to order another and how much?
5. Key too long - wish it can fold

The auto start stop and Aircon cut off don't bother me as much.
Now need to RTFM so I can learn more cool stuff about the car sweat.gif
*
vibration - yes, there's some vibration from the car, esp @ high speeds. quite noisy @ high speeds on h/way also.
auto lock - you can install one from car shop. it's RM150-200 or so.
folding mirrors - also, this can be done @ car shop. my shop quoted me RM200. but warned that the motor will spoil faster if you install auto-lock (replacing wing mirror motors are v expensive apparently)
remote - can order another one. ask SA. heard it was RM800 (!!)
long key - agree. it helps if it can fold. keeps on poking my pocket!

only problem for me is that @ 150 km/h... the wind/tyre noise is very loud, so a little irritating when driving long dist.

WOOHOO! oh yeah bro, you're gonna love your STs... so damn loud. Everytime I horn stupid idiots trying to cut in, they hit the brakes like kena stunned by sound shockwave... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

when you install this, i recommend you space them out and get a solid metal grille you can hang them off else they will vibrate alot when you horn, if you attach to the default OEM horn mount. better spacing = better clearer sound.

here's what i did with mine:

Forgot to add - don't use the stock relays that came with the Hella box (the relay switch polarity in the box is reversed for other countries... get your mechanic to change to a good Bosch Malaysia/Asia relay that works w/correct polarity).

The thing bout this thread after following it so long... sure kana poison by all those pictures of gadgets, accessories and addons... thumbup.gif  wanna buy this la, that la... at the end kana scold by wife say spend so much on car, never spend so much on her!  doh.gif

ps: i like these horns too. Lol. Looks cool and surely would sound way better than this peet peet sound stock horn.

Whats good brand and model for nice pair of tweeters and speakers? Something like 1K and below range.
Would 3 way speakers plus tweeter make the sound come out really sharp and not nice to listen?
or would a normal speaker + tweeter be a better combi? or does it depend on budget?
Any audiophile expert wanna share their thoughts and opinion?
*
if you really want good quality sound, you'll need to invest in a decent amp. I spent about 2k on my ICE: a 4-CH amp, replaced all 4 OEM component speakers + the tweeters.

brand-wise, it really depends on each person's preference. me... i listen to lots of jazz so i'm looking for good mid-range, less bass, and sharp, clear highs. I like Dieci (mde in italy). see my signature below for some links to Dieci speakers.

yep. the OEM horns are so bloody small and made of inferior quality (compared to the steel housing of our Hella SuperTones).

My third filled up today. Odometer at 1050km. My FC is only 18km/L
How I calculate is jot down how much I pump in each time and also note down the km done.
I use iPhone app to keep track and calculate so can't be wrong. This is most accurate way to calculate.

If according to the onboard trip meter, it says I average about 20km/L

My usage is mostly highway. Hardly any city driving. Light foot driving

I hope it gets better. I expect at least 20km/L.

How the heck can ppl get 25km/L?  Just no way!
*
actually, the most accurate way to calc your FC.. would be to do a manual calc before/after you refill. meaning..

1. wait till your petrol is nearly E
2. reset Odometer
3. pam full tank
4. drive until it's almost E again
5. before you refill, check the KMs traveled and write it down
6. note down how much petrol was pumped in
7. divide total KM by X litres pumped... then that's your accurate FC.
