Remember to bring a hammer there...

True intention of Ranger programme? I do think you will ever know. But I'm not a Nokia dog. Just because I had a couple freebies does not mean I had to mis-guide people into buying a Nokia product. If what they want is a Nokia, so be it. Did I persuade people here to get an Android or iOS device? All I did was comparing them. When one can't differentiate OS to hardware, well, it's pretty pointless to argue.

LOL
So? You are wasting time replying this. Who wanna claim he's a matured father? Who wanna claim he knows it all? Who's acting? You don't even have a clear idea what you are trying to say.
So you are in because you want to contribute? Does that matters to me? No! So you are in because you are the chosen one? Does it matters to me? No!
Stop trying to act all adult. This is my very personal view on the whole Ranger program. That just it. My main intention has been trying to get a free Symbian 3 device to compared against Android and iOS. I have no intention to hide anything at all. I don't feel like I have obligations to Nokia to promote their products. My one n only aim is to compare, not promote. As for help? I don't consider myself as being helpful either. I'm not like Chan, who share all his findings and even compile a sis installer for it nor I'm being a skillful photographer like Aspire who share the techniques with fellow forumers.
So, stop quoting me really. I don't find it interesting to argue about personal aspect of how to live a worthy life or something that's totally out of the topic. If you want to share your thing, just post it. Nokia staffs are reading all these stuffs and if they think I'm not suitable, then just removed me lor. After all, it's not like the view of 16 unknown guys in LYN would help Nokia reverse it's miserable fortune. Stop teaching me your view of me cos I really don't care.
Still trying so hard to justify your existence ha. Okay, okay. You win.
guys i cant sychronize my contacts from my old phone to my new N8. what is the problem? my bluetooth is set visible.
Despite what's written on the manual, not all models will be fully compatible for data transfer. But the least you should get are the contacts and if anything else comes through then you're in luck.
i dont understand it thought. got something pop out, saying what i also dont know. something to do with phone memory. last time i pair my X6 with N86 no problem. now i pair both with my N8 cannot. dont know why..

old phone? if nokia one oh, copy into memory card, plug into computer, ur contack will be saved at :\Others\Contacts. just copy it into ur N8 then settle
Paired my old X6 and N8 with no problem using Switch application. Have you chosen Send from your X6?
i did it already by retrieving contacts from my X6 to N8. not send from X6 to N8. but when i access contacts in my N8, this "unable to access cantacts saves to Service number" keep on popping out. damn annoying

Wow. Although sometimes my Switch programme become erratic, that is due to me trying to sync huge amount of messages. Never have any problem with transferring contacts.
The only workaround I can think is either transferring it via SIM card or via Ovi Suite. Have you tried it?
It's pointless now to compare especially with symbian^3 current UI and performance. I don't see the base~less in this argument. Wait for Anna and Belle update then you guys can argue (and thats if you have a patient to wait)~

Another way is to Sync to your Ovi Suite from X6, then sync from Ovi Suite to N8.

Microsoft seems to be doing quite a good job in UI recently. But the office still show you the old Win7 interface. Not bad!! Can't wait to see what Nokia has.

Actually you can by setting Sync manually to use Google Sync as your Contacts server.
That what I did with my SGS and N8. Easier to manage as well, since I just need to manage them on Google Contacts via gmail.

???
Did you misunderstood? Win8 is not a totally new OS. Well, they still had the old interface + this new one based on HTML5 and JavaScript. But I really wonder about the gaming performance since it's running atom. Wait n see.

there's multiple way to restore all the items:
1. save all your contacts as .vcf files and copy it into the E:\Others\Contacts then u can get all your contacts back with no problem... 2. use the default file manager and do a backup (select the items u want) then connect using USB mass storage go into E:\Backup and copy all the .arc into your new phone E:\Backup folder (mass storage mode) then in the new phone use the default file manager and do a restore... remember this is good for contacts/calender/message and NOT SETTING...
