As a fellow Rangers, I have to say Let Bygones be Bygones mmkay? icon_rolleyes.gif
Yes, I do feel ashamed with that statement too, and hoping that it was just made for teh lulz only.

Anyway, congratz for v30 now, and as I just finished my IB, I can have more time lurking here from now on laugh.gif

Btw, the massive influx of Qt apps in the Ovi Store is really great now IMHO. I'm really liking The Star app for my morning reading, plus The Guardian mobile app for my fix of world news. Funny enough, The Star app didn't have world section. Don't ask me why sweat.gif

Just asking though, does anyone here already getting their Ovi Store update?

Plus, an impression of Symbian Anna from Asri Al-Baker, during the Bloggers night last week here

not yet loh... takla update in bolehland...  shakehead.gif
try the Nokia Reader not bad at all ... my favorite apps  thumbup.gif

Nokia Reader? Sound interesting enough. Kinda digging the push notification feature. Ah well, as long as its much better than the built-in RSS reader laugh.gif
Sad indeed Bolehland is quite slow in receiving updates

QUOTE(alexlimco @ May 30 2011, 06:01 PM)
Bygones will have to by bygones and history has already been written. Nokia rangers program has failed miserably and it's own creation has turned on it and bit the hand that pampered them. If any Nokia employees are lurking around, don't feel too bad. That's just human nature. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
I'd have to disagree there. May I know in what way it failed?

IMHO, the programme is great for having the community to communicate directly with the Nokia people, giving out feedbacks and constructive criticism in order for improvement as a whole. I still remember how they actually listen to my rambling about the lack of support to Maemo platform, as well as giving out clarification after the Feb 11 announcement by the top brass themselves. Getting freebies? That is just icing on the cake laugh.gif

Plus, without this program also, I wouldn't get the chance to get to know fellow forumer here like PyoSe, Apeck92, Sklchan, Doomx, Aspire2006, Leo etc (Ramai sangat nk list laugh.gif) as well as the big ones in Nokia Malaysia like Glen Cha as well as those famous bloggers like Smashpop. Really, its all very interesting, sharing our input, not only ours but also the ideas from this thread itself, with them.

Just my two cent icon_rolleyes.gif

to all rangers:
just take that statement with a punch of salt... no need to bring it up again, honestly

Okay! No need to bring it up again indeed icon_rolleyes.gif

BTW, can anyone using CameraPro here give out their impression? Quite interested in trying it honestly.

Gonna be testing two Epub book reader application for Symbian after this. Foliant which is based on Java and Dorian that is Qt based. For those who already used this, may I know the issues that I can expect beforehand?

Paired my old X6 and N8 with no problem using Switch application. Have you chosen Send from your X6?

i did it already by retrieving contacts from my X6 to N8. not send from X6 to N8. but when i access contacts in my N8, this "unable to access cantacts saves to Service number" keep on popping out. damn annoying  vmad.gif
*
Wow. Although sometimes my Switch programme become erratic, that is due to me trying to sync huge amount of messages. Never have any problem with transferring contacts.

The only workaround I can think is either transferring it via SIM card or via Ovi Suite. Have you tried it?

How's yours after some usage? I find it unable to keep it's charge well. Unable to fully charge my phone in one go.
*
Mine? It never fully charge my N8, C7 or N810. Maybe because its capacity is only 1500mAH.
But one thing boggles me, why the charger couldn't charge my N8 and C7 via the 2mm jack. But when using the MicroUSB jack, it just automagically works. Mind boggling indeed.

wtf are u serious???

See the video itself. When Smashpop typed the Url in the browser, it goes full screen, instead of the usual split screen set up we used to see before.
This practice isn't new. In fact, the current batch of Symbian^3 devices in Europe already have partial split screen keyboard support, as seen in the homescreen Search widget as well as the Opera Mobile 11. But that was not the case for our set. The same also held true for Smart Dialling support (Present in Europe set, not present in ours)

I hope I'm wrong here. Oh boy, really pray that I'm wrong now.

Really feels bad couldn't make it tomorrow.
To all Rangers and those going tomorrow, have fun there!

Btw, I do agree that the spam level here is too high before. Luckily, its already toned down now. But for pictures, it'll be much better if it being spoilered.

I have mixed feeling about Nokia N9 TBH. Its strays too much from its predecessors, the Internet Tablet series and the uber N900.

But one thing for sure, I know that this will be my birthday present laugh.gif

You still have your brick N900 ma? Now I can live without keyboard after using touch-based phone for so long. Looking on the UI, it's for mass consumer, bit geeky than android user though. For a girl, maybe it's not for them.  whistling.gif

Agree, good browser and good camera = win for me

Plus a good mapping solution. Something that is going to be addressed with the awesome Nokia Maps.

Its a pity tho that the widgetized homescreen that Maemo users already accustomed to wasn't available here. Instead, we got an WP7-esque interface, with Notifications panel, Main Menu panel and Multitasking Panel.

Still using my old, battered Sony Clie' PEG-TJ37. Running PalmOS 5
I'm oldschool. Very-very outdated person laugh.gif

That to be said, in the age of Honeycombs and iPads, I'm still using the old N810 as my daily driver tablet. Go figure rolleyes.gif

Anyway, looking forward to see all of you Rangers next week icon_rolleyes.gif

A question though, anyone here have problems with Opera Mini 6.1?
I can't connect using it anymore. Guessing that maybe the Socket/Http connection plays a role here, but I can't find a way to change it.

Anyone shares the same problem?

Arr, what I mean is, it is being leaked to be flashed using Pheonix. Not official means, but for those who felt adventurous enough, they can try icon_rolleyes.gif

What's up with all the ancient talking here? Maybe for some who wants the latest and greatest, this phone, naah, all Symbian Nokia phones aint gonna cut it. But for me myself, I'm contented with what my N8 is offering. For now. Heck, all my gadgets currently is quite ancient, a Sony Clie' powered by Palm OS, Nokia N810 running Maemo 4, which I do admit is very outdated and already End Of Life.

Still, it didn't hamper its usage at all. Nope still working to my taste all these years. I still can read ebooks on my Clie, I still can browse on my N810. Performance aside, it still offer the same set of functionality as in the day I started using it.

One man's meat is another man's poison. Just remember that icon_rolleyes.gif

ps: I never said its wrong to have the latest and greatest. Its all up to you....
