I recommend going to
AppBrain and register and account. Then download AppBrain App Market from Google's own Market on your phone. Really makes life easier to manage all those downloaded apps.
There is also a method called Fast Web Install. Essentially you can browse the AppBrain market on your PC, pick any app you want to install and AppBrain will push the app straight to your phone. No need to squint while searching for apps on your phone! To try out Fast Web Install, check the guide

For those who wanna root using Paul's Superboot image, here are the instructions!
1: Download
Superboot image.2: Turn off your device.
3: Hold "volume up" and "volume down" at the same time, then turn on your phone without releasing the volume keys. The screen will turn purple.
4: Connect your phone to your PC using USB. A directory called "image" will appear in Windows Explorer.
5: Open the folder, you will see a "boot.img". THIS IS YOUR ORIGINAL BOOT IMAGE, copy and keep it somewhere safe, in case you need it in the future.
6: Rename the image file you downloaded to "boot.img" and copy into the "image" folder. Click yes to replace.
7: Disconnect the phone from USB, remove the battery cover then remove the battery. Put the battery back and your phone will restart. If it doesnt, just press the power button
Once your phone has fully booted, check the app drawer. If you see Superuser among the apps, that means you have rooted your phone with great success!
Now rooted, you have a custom optimised kernel, your device partition converted from EXT3 to EXT4 (for increased performance) and busybox installed with shortcuts. Any problems, just post on the thread!
