what about external hard disk media?
i have a few home made movies(Video games live,among other videos) in my external hard disk, recorded in 5.1 surround.

if i can have surround audio from those videos as well, then that'll be the last push for me

man i think theres some issue with my headset.

I can't hear ppls chat. When I put the settings to Mid sometimes there wont be any chat noise from others.

Even at times when I adjust it all the way to voice also theres no sound. Just the BGM

Yeah, surround sounds works fine with video files playback from external HDD/thumbdrive. Those with Netflix/PlayStation Video Store access definitely can also enjoy surround audio with this headset.

some of my friends asking me the range of the headset can be used from your ps3...so far i still can chat with my friends even in range 10 metres from my ps3...
some people said it's not worth to buy this headset...i don't understand why...maybe the expecting rm300 headset working like rm 700 headset...damn
well i test with some music from my ps3 but not movies...
i using it when playing games....MAG especially...even the volume is max...the chat and sound mixer at the middle...i still can hear my friends chat really clearly....even they said its really clear than 2.0 sony bluetooth headset

The chat is crystal clear.. the awesome quality of audio that comes out of the headset..and when i let my friends try it they said i wanna get one..my friend who has a Razer Banshee headset for PC said it is a good as his one..with one advantage..No wires..everybody was SOLD!!

anyways I tried this headset for few days now i can say it is really awesome

Playing online games I can hear the footsteps now and Now I knew why people use ninja perk in COD series

I would recommend everyone to buy this headset

I tried a couple of games like Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty, Resistance , and all I could say is wow with my jaw opened

but looking back at some of the posts here, i just wanna say people will buy if they think it's value for money. buying a RM300 headset and expecting it to be gold is just ridiculous.

Well, we had to benchmark it with something. So, gold silver or platinum is very subjective.

But seriously, u cant find anything cheaper than this Sony headset that offer virtual 7.1 (but I am skeptical about this 7.1) wireless!
