Failed..  sweat.gif
Tried GingerBreak v1.20 - Stuck at Rooting... Running exploit... This may take a few minutes! (which i leave it run over night) laugh.gif Device will reboot on success!

Superoneclick v1.95 - Cause hang even off and on USB debugging several time..

Does anyone tried above method on 2.3.3?? or is there other way for locked bootloader device. blush.gif
Do i need an formatted empty SD card mount in the device?
*
GingerBreak x1.20 will NEVER WORK for 2.3.3 as of today 7-7-2011. You need to downgrade it to 2.3.2 and root it and upgrade it back to 2.3.3

It was tested with Arc and workable, and I manage to get it working with my newly purchase xperia Neo using the same concept!

ask a noob question here  tongue.gif
is tat microsd 16gb class 10 enough for Arc? or 32gb class 10 better?  hmm.gif
*
The only difference between these 2 is the capacity (and pricing, duh!) and whether enough and not enough is depending on the user, not the phone itself.

still waiting for xperia ray, it looks almost the same as neo and arc

currently prefer arc more cause got hdmi =p
*
neo also got hdmi wa...
the waiting game is forever. I stop waiting after 3 month neo/pro delayed (and as of today there is still no news that se MY will bring it in) and bought myself an AP set neo.

Warranty? If it will fail, it will fail. I had 4 AP phone that never warranty b4. I had 4 ORI phone that 2 of them screwed up 1-6 months after the warranty period elapse. So should I care about the warranty? shakehead.gif
I had unlocked the phone and rooted it 3 days after I purchase the phone:
day 0 juz purchase, battery need 8h charge
day 1 been googling the firmwares & methods
day 2, viola I am on a rooted phone

You can wait for the xRay but I must warn you, with the way SE rolls out the models, I bet you can ony get it during xmas.

Keep on waiting.

OFFTOPIC: Arc is nice but I just don't like the size. Too big.
This applied to SGSII, Sensation, and the rest of the phones that had uber large screen size. I'll get a pad if I want that big screen. Nobody would want other to look into them in typing sms and viewing fb.

Don't flame me. Arc is still a great phone (as of its little brothers, xperia Neo tongue.gif )

what fix ? battery drain ?
*
October?? In fact 2.3.3 is already better than 2.3.2 in terms of battery consumption. I doubt SE can do much in 2.3.4

Ori or AP also should comes with locked bootloader. if you have an unlocked bootloader that means your phone set is not 1st hand.

I would say that the wifi connection issue cannot not fully blame SE for this. Even notebooks and wifi adapter tends to have lost connection or unable to connect problem. Apparently it is also cause by the wifi channel and interferences on particular place.

Last time my Toshiba laptop cannot connect to my home network due to the wifi channel set to "auto", after I set it to any channel below 9 it works flawlessly. Some devices are choosy on wifi channel. It is the same case with the Arc.

thx i thought so too sigh.
anyway another question :
(1) how much power is our comp use to charge our phone if it is plugged into the USB port?
(2) so far the charger supplied when i bought the phone says input: 100-240VAC ~150mA 50-60Hz and output: 5.0 VDC===850mA . can i use another charger with input: 100-240V 50-60Hz and output: 5V 650mA?? will it damage the battery or something?
*
1. 500-900mA depends on usb version and/or manufacturer design.
2. No it won't. It is just slower.

Hi guys! I plan to get an ARC or NEO but I have a doubt here. From the spec, it says "Internal phone storage: 1GB (up to 320MB free)" so exactly how much internal phone storage does it has? 1GB or 320MB? Is it more than enough for heavy apps user? Thanks
*
320MB. Please accept the fact that SE is not competitive against other brand with whooping 8gb/16gb storage. Anyway you can still install and move some portion of the apps to sd card.

i'm on Global .145 fw rooted and been thinking of upgrading this to .368. is there a way to get this rooted with a locked bootloader?
*
Downgrade to 2.3.2, Gingerbreak it, and OTA update to 4.0.A.2.368

I did that for my Xperia Neo. I think Arc could do the same. Just wait for the OTA to be available.

interested in this phone, would like to know are there any issues/ problem with this phone?

do you guys face wifi line-dropping when using this phone?
*
I had wifi line dropping happened with my laptop, ipad, smartphone, etc... Especially when there are tens of available wifi network which interfere with each other.

The bottom point is that you can't blame the phone for being disconnected. It is not entirely the phone's fault.

Not really.. I got so many issues wth my older Vivaz (Symbian S5). esp the hangkei & lousy GPS. No doubt the camera is good on Vivaz. So I believe Arc camera will be even better than vivaz and probably as good as X10
*
Well I have no problem with the Vivaz back then. Hangkai? Only once or twice due to the buggy S60V5 OS. I believe even apple/andriod will have all this Hangkai problem. It is no difference than your Windows XP after you packed in so many features.
Linux based Motorola V series is stable, but... Where is Moto now?

Arc's ExmorR camera is equal or better than X10. If it isn't bright or sunny X10's pics get too dark. Arc hasn't that problem. In low light, Arc's default is easier to take photo as compare to X10 where you had to really be steady during the time it capture the photo. It's really hard to maintain focus in night time on the X10, whereas you would notice a huge difference when it comes to the Arc. Even though the X10's camera is really good compared to many other phones out there, I'd have say that it's really slow from initiating the app to focusing on the subject and to saving the image after the picture is taken!

It is already 3rd quarters into the year and yet had any other phone capable to compete with Arc in term of the photo quality. Unlike last time when X10 comes out there was the Samsung Pixon who steal the crown off from X10. Nokia N9 should be more superior as compare with Arc's camera, but due to the isolated OS (Meego)

It is quite funny that there are 2 different results
Results from xperiablog, pro-Andriod

Results from allaboutsymbian, pro-Nokia

What would you say? Both phones are able to produce stunning photo. Either one of them are able to kill phone from the rest of the world. You are basically asking whether an Audi A8 better or a BMW 7 Series better, which it is quite subjective to answer.

As for the pricing, kindly proceed to Garage Sales for the up-to-date pricing.

Hi guys,

Noobs for android.

It's the first time i new to android. - Welcome

I tried to install pc companion, however, I only can view what I got in SD card folder but not phone memory....... - You need to root it to gain access, as the content in phone are system files

I have no problem with my previous nokia c6........ - Please don't compare Nokia's Symbian vs Andriod system

and somemore how to stop those auto start program? some of program I have to did many time to close manually in the running application even I dont run it........ - As mentioned, you need to root it 1st

and one more biggest mistake i done, never check there's no front camera for me........should have buy xperia play or neo....zzZZ - Even Neo's front camera is pretty useless in firmware 2.3.3 because Google Andriod had not release official support to it. Wait for 2.3.4 update?

SE was patient enough to wait for the official support from Andriod, while Samsung are jumping the queue to put up the addon themself.

Added on September 5, 2011, 2:39 pmthe quality of camera seems lost out, i can see many small dot on the picture when I zoom to bigger size..... - The compression ratio of the native camera is  shakehead.gif , try to use 3rd party camera app?

I use the setting 8mp & 6 mp, also the same and I can't zoom the image when I was about to take a photo....... - Need to update to 2.3.3 to enable zooming in 6/8mp

note: had update to latest software 4, still facing the same issue.....
