In the 1st place what is the reason you need to buy/sunscribe fro 3G/broadband there?
To surf, most hotels for sure having free wifi or wlan. If wanna call back, just top up US$10 in your skype and using skype to cal back using the free wifi there..Honestly if you say you wanna surf internet during travel...dun waste your time-lah.. You spend time admiring sceneries, ppl , food & shoppings and why borther surfing and miss out all attraction. You can surf using the free wifi/wlan in the hotel.. Choose a hotel providing this service |

U seldom using maps during travel wan. and if you're Taipei.. The most important maps is the subway maps not googlemaps haha/ Or get the free nokiamaps or look for free Garmin maps rather than spend unnecessary on 3G-Google maps |

Not so sure.. have to ask Unker Tony.. but from my past experience, should be ~ Nov (For travel from May till Nov) , Feb (For travel oct till Feb & ~ Jul/Aug (For travel ~ nxt yr Mar till Jul).. agak-agak only haha
Current sales from what I see just to fulfill empty seats bcos travel period so short..within 2 mths nia so dun expect cheap fare.. Otherwise go via Singapore using their newest SCOOT esp those from JB |

Old US currency issue already posted on pg 1:
QUOTE Should you bring American currency, please be sure to bring newer bills as the banks will only accept the newer bills (bills from 1996 and 2003 are not accepted at most places, due to a high proportion of forgeries bearing these years). Bills which are torn or damaged will probably not be changed, and old-style small-bust bills are not accepted. SOURCE FROM http://wikitravel.org/en/Taiwan |

QUOTE(kiawin @ May 7 2012, 05:59 PM) Bring along some USD. But changing in town might be challenging as I don't see currency exchanger much. I think the Govt there regulate the money changers and only available by banks. I did changed in local banks in Taipei.. very mafan.. lotsa red tapes even though no NT30 commission.. price also similar to those in the Airport. BTW, All airport money changers asl by the banks no individual private owned money changers there |

Well, They probably won't charge as they know Taiwan electronics more expensive than M'sia haha. That will be double taxation dy..
Just check some of the electronics pricing in Taiwan: - Panasonic 1hp aircon can be as high as RM2500 and a top loading washing machine RM1400 & Fridge RM2400... Almost double M'sia pricing haha http://www.microsofttranslator.com/BV.aspx....tkec.com.tw%2F |
