i find the af-s 50mm 1.8g a minor upgrade from 1.8d, compared to the 1.4d to 1.4g...mainly cos the 1.8g still has 7 blades...zzz...

hmm, i tot u should upgrade from d90 to at least d700? because d7000 is almost same level as d90?
*
if faster focus, better noise control, more focus points, 1080p movies, better batt life, part magnesium alloy body...still got somemore...and if all that means d7000 is same lvl as d90...then i guess so tongue.gif

I think what he meant by same level is the product range/line....well that's how i see it, not sure about others tongue.gif
*
cannot see like that la.
its like seeing all cars of same cc at the same range...
cannot say 1.3 myvi same lvl as rx8 which is also 1.3 tongue.gif

I wonder why people say d90 to d300s is an upgrade but not to d7000. tongue.gif
I mean I can't understand why. really  sweat.gif
*

Finally made up my choice on my monopod... ordered the 680B lol. Hopefully the shorter length when kept will be more worth while compared to 681B or 682B...
*

What do you think? Worth buying? as compared to maybe 681B... the onyl reason I took the 680B is it is shorter when it is kept... about 15cm shorter...compared to 681B.. but only capable of holding 10kg instead of 12kg and has 4 section versus 3 section. Not to mention doesn't stand as high, but I'm only about 178cm.. so inclusive of my ball head I think it should be sufficient for my height.
*
with the 680 at full extension + decent ballhead, a 6ft tall person can also use it.
10kg is enough unless u will be using a 200-400 or 600.
anyway i got my 680 on sale at rm148...too bad it doesnt come with a bag...but i used the bag that came with a free nikon tripod from before.
if 681 definitely cannot fit into a tripod bag tongue.gif

Hmmmm actually getting monopod really improve panning hit rate significantly ? Like that I might want to get cheap monopod sweat.gif
*
not really, just use when u lazy to handhold camera for a long time tongue.gif
proper panning technique more important, and that is easier to do without any support.

Re-upload after fixing on the curves...

Looked better than my first try in my opinion. Gotta keep this in my head for the next time i deal with landscape biggrin.gif
Any pointers on how to position myself in optimum position? Many thanks.

its got something to do with how the angle of the sun rays hit, but in general, 12oclock sun is no good.
i only use polariser mostly to get rid of reflections tongue.gif

here's what i would roughly do...cheat abit biggrin.gif
crop the top abit to balance, brighten, and add flare from where i think the sun roughly is.

i prefer this kind of grass colour:

hmmm maybe the yellow highlight make it looks difference....
*
dont let illusions fool u.
there is very little difference, just the sun and shadows disturbs it abit.

*
did u buy nikon malaysia set or one of those that individuals are selling for rm300+?

QUOTE(metsatsu @ Jun 14 2011, 04:10 PM)
oh sorry i mean how do u guys feel for MB-D11 in terms of its daily use or battery life or performance etc. yeah, so i meant review actually.

lol I know how you interpreted my question, my bad. I didn't realize that it sounded like i was asking something else doh.gif
*
obviously makes portrait orientation easier to shoot, especially if ur one of those who like to shoot fashion shows cos u dont want ur elbow whacking someone else's camera or even face tongue.gif
and also helps to balance out the camera when u put a heavier lens on.
