well then if you're an IT guy, you should know that deleting files or uninstalling apps doesn't affect the cache memory 1 bit

your cache size cannot be 550MB free, because it shouldn't even be that big, lol which is why I know you must've mistaken it for something else
cache memory are temporary memory that is part of your internal storage, you can't just free it by deleting stuff
which is why you need the cache cleaner app. you can do it manually too if you can use recovery or adb
(there could be other ways as well, feel free to correct me)

even thought connected eee pad with laptop, it will show the same info ( low free space 220MB ) before i delete things. then i start delete apps like pptv video streaming apps ( this kind of apps cache data ) and unused game data.

later on check the folder one by one confirm only 2GB used. ( connected to laptop ) then suspecting either error msg or really some hidden system file fill up the space.

then i decided to call the center see how there respond to new launch eee pad

3 min+ only I called. Including call, select menu, ask, get answer then hang up

if not mistaken the 12 gb used should be under your /mnt/sdcard files shown in the file manager, possibly you have too many media files (movies) or music or even games installed that downloaded a lot of large files (such as nova, spiderman, etc).

BTW... What's the recommended cache cleaner apps you use?

nope. only 2 videos for my daughter 300MB, a few photos test camera, 1 video taken by Eee Pad camera 1 min length.

games data only Aphalt 5 able to download data, others Alhalt 6 keep saying no wifi connection, NSF not allow to download due to country support.

Usual games like angry bird/ fruits ninja. No others big big size games.


But I notice the home screen a little bit different after factory reset. A few widget shortcut no there (not sure 2 ~3) , some one test my unit before packing ??

so after reset is your disk space issue resolved or still like that? its possible some app is using up a lot of data too, if the problem still persists you might wanna check the storage area in the settings to see which app(s) might be eating up a lot of space.

after reset sure all okay.

fast fast install 1 app name "1Tap Cleaner" just in case it happen again and I'm not around then my wife can just click on it.

When it happened that time, I tried and can't install any things.. a small size 100K app also can't.
