LOL dun get me wrong i am not discussing or bringing political views into your thread but i just like the bird and happen that need ur help to "UBAH" something so just tumpang use la smile.gif coz i feel the bird is kinda cute in design, if offended just ignore the logo. the logo not important.

Setapak coverage = Jln Pahang, Jln Genting Kelang and close proximity such as Jln Gombak, Danau Kota, Air Panas, Setapak Jaya, Wangsa Maju (maybe can count maybe not) and of course dun forget the most prime & prestigious living location, Titiwangsa. They're a lot of hidden low profile BOD live there which have the say in Blue chips.
as for those PVs in Melati is too far, shouldn't be counted but anyhow they're under Mukim Setapak title as well.

Jln Pahang starts from the road from HBKL + Grand Season Hotel until the Titiwangsa traffic light then further on call Jln Setapak and Genting Kelang already.

Star LRT and 2 Monorail station (dun forget that Pekeliling is extremely near to Jln Setapak even nearer compare to whatever taman like wangsa maju, setapak jaya, danau kota or whatever)

5 Hospitals - Tawakal, Columbia Asia, HBKL, Sentosa, Pusrawi(although not setapak, but still very near to the actual setapak area)

All brand petrol stations are along the road even the less popular Caltex, you get 2 along Jln Pahang, Jln Genting Kelang as well.

Menara PJD resurrection hasa been completed & "Level 17" Gov Flat (those next to Titiwangsa Star LRT + Monorail) decommission, and proposed RM9 billion - Massive redevelopment of Pekeliling flats - The project called "Tamansari Riverside Garden City", will include a 60-storey revolving tower, the first of its kind.

High rise (inclusive of both high and low dense)
Seri Titiwangsa - the super low dense just behind Jln Setapak's BHP @ Titiwangsa
The Heritage
Madu Mas
Pelangi
Genting Court
Setapak Ria

villa wangsamas and sri maya maybe still can consider la but 3 residen is way too far

Galleria shopping mall - resurrection in progress if not mistaken now has been convert to a Big Kuan Yin Temple

Duke Hiway
Titiwangsa Lake - the only LARGEST LANDMARK and most popular for outsider
Istana Budaya nearby la
National Library nearby la

The most chinese primary schools within vacinity @ least 4( Chong Hwa, Chiao Nan, Mun Yee, Lee Rubber)
Sorry i never bother about Malay or other race school, but i am not racist is just that i don't really bother

and the 1 and only KL gov CHINESE 2ndary School SM Chong Hwa also located within close proximity

1 thing no good = no international bank except drive to Wangsa Walk Mall only have 1 OCBC Al-Amin, even the very low profile Affin Bank also can be found along Jln Genting Kelang

LHDN X 2 (1 @ AEON Jusco, 1 @ Menara PJD) and EPF office are also close by.

@ least 3 post office = 1 @ Jln Genting Kelang & Jln Gombak border, 1 @ Jln Gombak, 1 @ Carrefour

All brands of non Conti cars and Japanese/Korean car dealers, such as Mazda, Mitsubishi, Honda X 2 (you can X3 if you wanna count Ulu Kelang), Toyota X 2, Nissan X 2, Hyundai, Kia X 2, Ssang Yong, even China Chery as well

Old skool chinese pyshician and medicine shop are available along Jln Setapak, they have been very well established for @ least 2 generations

Furniture shop and 2nd hand car dealer the most even Sri Canggong, Ming Heng (no naza yet) Courts, even the luxury brand Rozel is available @ Setapak area.

3-4 wet market (1 near prima setapak, 1 near air panas, 1 near Langkawi, 1 near Pasar Gombak(tis 1 a bit too far))

Food, not as much as Puchong, but still quite decent. Your example is more than this leow./

grocery shops = MyMyDin, SpeedMart99, KK, Carrefour Express, and oso not to forget those old skool uncle aunty operated grocery shops

Hard to find fast food such as Kenny Roger & A&W are available along Jln Genting Kelang & Wangsawalk Mall respectively

JPJ and Puspakom are also available

Historic place = Taman Peringatan P. Ramlee within walking range of SG/288/222

Road = Jln Jelatek the most important u din write down.

Transportation u oso kurang 1 .... ===> The only chinese owned bus company LenSeng still avail for service to Setapak Jaya/Sri Rampai

i think the biggest change in setapak was spear head by PV's project at jalan genting kelang. Most significant changes are concentrated at the festival mall area.

would be nice if TS can post a map shot and label all those developments for a much more clearer picture for those unfamiliar with the area.
does wangsa maju area and melawati area falls under setapak?
how about westgate, casa melati, riana green east, gaya, sering ukay, ukay perdana, etc.
does those fit under setapak area as well?
anyway, well done for this thread.
keep up the good work.

Since nobody answer this, let me try to tackle this

TS means thread starter, if someone wondering.

Wangsa Maju and Melawati area all falls under Setapak

Westgate and Riana green east under Setapak also

Casa melati, Sering ukay, Ukay perdana, not under Setapak.

Gaya, not sure.

The Genting Klang-Pahang Highway or Jalan Genting Klang and Jalan Pahang, as it is locally known, (Federal route Jkr-ft2.png ) is a major highway in Kuala Lumpur city, Malaysia. This highway was formerly maintained by Metramac Corparation Sdn.Bhd(who also managed the Cheras Highway(Federal Route Jkr-ft1.png). The Jalan Pahang toll plaza was in operation from 1 August 1995 until 13 August 2004. This highway is now maintained by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall or Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).

Most locals do not consider it a highway as, unlike the other highways which are "closed" roads, Jalan Genting Klang is also a busy road with many commercial properties and condominiums, which are popular among students of Tunku Abdul Rahman College.

hi TS, you forgot one more university which is near the Gombak/Taman Melati border .... UIAM (mega sized university) and Fairview International School which is now around Melawati area.

I have stayed at both Setapak and Puchong, but personally, I would say that Puchong has shown much more vibrancy in terms of eateries, hang out areas, and development compared to Setapak (but maybe with the latest shopping complexes and shophouses around Genting Klang area, it will change somehow).

One thing Setapak has that Puchong doesn't is the beautiful lush greeneries from the Titiwangsa Ranch where Genting is smile.gif and for most chinese ah pek and ah sam ... the nearer they are to Genting casino, they happier they will be tongue.gif (just my observation). Puchong is surrounded by mining pools and lots of bare lands which makes the place very hot and dry during hot seasons.

But traveling out of Puchong to PJ and KL is a hassle because of the toll and jam .. if only they could remove the LDP toll ... icon_idea.gif and open up more access roads from/to Puchong (WITHOUT the toll of course .. hahah)
