any update on LRT extension and DUKE access roads?? Hope someone can do some research and post here.

i dun think we can depend on jl genting kelang , jl pahang which is getting congested day to day. (as published in yesterday Star, worst after so many new condo and shops/malls completed), expected more outsiders to come to setapak too. we need better transportation or access roads (to and fro DUKE). Otherwise setapak will be dead (before become so called great city). Anyone can check with DBKL or developers??

my preference for establishments from the least .. giant, then carrefour/tesco/jaya jusco, then supermarkets like coldstorage/jaya grocer complimented by numerous niche shops. btw the giant logo also not appealing visually lo ... kekeke

If the Giant is as big & good as Kota Damansara one then still ok lah....

RM7.8mil park to include disabled-friendly facilities

KUALA Lumpur residents can look forward to a new community park on a 15ha site in Setapak, Setiawangsa MP Datuk Seri Zulhasnan Rafique said.

Zulhasnan said the RM7.8mil park in Jalan Air Keroh, Air Panas Setapak, was initiated under the 10th Malaysia Plan and would take 32 weeks to complete.

The project is undertaken by the Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Ministry.

“The park will provide a place for residents to unwind and relax as well as provide a venue for city folk to carry out their recreational activities,’’ he said.



All set: Zulhasnan (fourth from left) being shown around the project site by City Hall representatives and engineers.

Zulhasnan, who visited the site with officers from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), suggested that City Hall use the football field nearby to build a changing room for the residents.

“The park will be equipped with basic facilities for children and it is also disabled-friendly,’’ he said.

Zulhasnan, who is also the Setiawangsa Barisan Nasional chairman, said community parks were essential to foster the spirit of solidarity and neighbourliness among city residents.

“Parks keeps the children occupied with healthy activities and promotes bonding.

“For the residents, it is a place for them to interact and get to know their neighbours better and for the elderly folk it is a place where they can exercise and pass their time,’’ Zulhasnan said.

The park will be equipped with an outdoor gym, benches, jogging tracks, pergolas, water features, playground and will be landscaped with trees and shrubs.

Zulhasnan said the Setiawangsa Residents Consultative Council would be organising a family and sports day at the park in November.

“I hope to see the community come together and take part in the activities that is being planned,” he said.
