greenish and brownish...greenish brown.. dont really know how to explain it.. for some, its the outer part which is brown..
before this i have 1 which is getting greener( total i have 2 only).
and all the while i put them in the fridge at night or put in some ice cubes in their container during the day..
Then theres a period where i didnt do that for a few days and it straight away turn much more brownish green...(i actually ignored it for that few days.. to see what will happen..)
so i guess the problem might be temperature being too high at my place..
*
aw XD you need to take care routinely everyday..
I read that to go back to good condition, it takes months... so yeah u must be patient there smile.gif
try to keep the temperature low. well, can't say more because I can't see the condition of ur marimo.., maybe u can post ur newest photos here biggrin.gif

A warning to owners: Don't use soap to wash your tank xD I did it to my office marimos and they've gone quite pale and haven't pearled properly in awhile. Hopefully they haven't died on me yet O.O
*
um..I always wash my tank with soap..=_= wrong moveee ahhh
but I always soak it with water a couple of times, until sure that all the soap is gone..then let it dry under the sun...
how is ur Marimo now?XD

Chunkeat, try to bath ur marimo everyday too smile.gif. I tried that and this is the result. Maybe in aquarium my 2 SG looks more dull than others..but When I bath and see their fillaments, they're Fresh Green too.. smile.gif and don't forget to put ur marimos in the fridge at night and let it out in the morning for bathing and get light wink.gif. Hope that helps! Cheers!

Very nice setup! What a comprehensive owner ^^

I think those are just inserted into some fine substrate, like sand. Or, you could stick them in hardening clay to give them a base. Just make sure the clay is not toxic!
*
aah hardening clay..well I don't know any clay that non toxic >.< *info blind about clay*..but I can research more in that^^ hehehe~
thank you so much Kaiser!

anyway, sharing the before after of my Super Giants since last week... smile.gif
I Spa them everynight
Bath them Daily
and I really Happy with the improvement of their colour and texture wub.gif
Hopefully they're healthy always blush.gif

from my limited knowledge on marimo,i think our weather might be a little too hot for them...

i can definitely see improvement when i put my marimo into the fridge every night and take them out every morning.been doing it for 1 and a half weeks...
*
yes, I put my aquarium in the very farest side of the window in my room.. @.@ so in the afternoon the temperature does not really disturb them..
but I always put them in the fridge if I feel the Weather today really hot...

Added on September 22, 2012, 5:13 pmGood Evening marimo Lovers..

I confuse about the fishes I want to purchase to put in my Marimo Aquarium..

for now I'm Considering

Bulldog Pleco
Otocinclus Pleco
Betta Fish

I still cnfuse bettwen Bulldog or Otocinclus..
and I don't know if Cold water are suitable for Betta Fish..
usually my water temperature can reach between 16-25 Celcius

and do I need to put any freshwaterplant there? O_O
I read that Oto and Betta love some fresh water aquaticplants inside the aquarium.. well I want to put a little like some on the edge of the aquarium, for their resting place/home.. smile.gif. But I confuse when I brows there are so many kind of Fresh Water aquaticplants.. maybe I need to choose the Low Light one too? the same as Marimo need.. O_o

It's winter here where the temperature drops to about 2-5C at night, but I see my LFS keeping betta in unheated containers. They seem to do alright though. That said, most of the sites I checked dont recommend anything lower than 22C.

http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art17131.asp
http://bettafishhome.com/water-temperature-for-betta-fish/
http://www.lifespanofabettafish.com/water_...betta_fish.html

Unless you plan on keeping the light dim, I think you should be able to use any kind of tropical plant. You can use tall plants (grasses?) for betta since it mimics their natural habitat.
*
thank you for the reply biggrin.gif
in my country, the wheater is tropical forever cry.gif (yeah I want to see snow..snow...snow..sigh)
so thats why I often put my marimo in the fridge... rolleyes.gif
do Betta can survice in chlorine water?
do you have any pleco fish too with ur betta?
I'm thinking of small Peco (Otocinclus)
user posted image

I read that it's suitable for small aquarium because of its size..

I use Low Light Lamp level... is tall plant can be use with low light lamp? Because many tropical plants need high Light for their health..

moss will do fine with low lights. but they will eventually outgrow your marimo..and in my cases,
envelope some part of the marimos and prevent them to get sufficient light.
but you can make the moss grow light carpet on the gravel, while you tie the marimo to make it looks floating using fishing wire ..lol..
ive always wanted to do that..but not enought space and budget haha

*
Marimo become carpet., XD i cant see my round marimo being flattened щ(ºДºщ)
Looks like need so many effort and muney for that XD
Maybe am gonna buy betta fish first then >.<
many feedback that betta is not so hard to be taken care of?
