not turning that marimo into carpet..but the moss lol
*
ah I see..sorry for the missreading! m(_ _)m
I have interest in growing the moss..XD but my aquarium's decorations haven't fixed yet..still need changes..

anyway..got my Betta...named him Hiki~ maybe he still around 3 months old...
Seems like he isn't really comfortable with Bigger Marimos..
He doesn't want to swim next to the SuperGiants sweat.gif
and yet he Loves to swim around next to filter pipe even he got pushed away by the air flow, and (keep swimming closer to the filter pipe again after that) sweat.gif try to photo him next to the marimo..but seems he realized when I want to take photos of him =.=" He swam to the back of the aquarium after tat..

*CORRECTION*
he seems try to move closer the the Super Giants..then not so long he moved away..
IDK is it maybe my lamp is too strong for him...or he doesn't comfortable with the area..he loves to stay in the edge of the aquarium next to the filter pipe...

Hi there!
long time no Online...
my Health isnt so well lately..still in cure process>.<
and my Betta : Hiki-chan got sick too, With his behaviour that often scratching his body onto the gravels, looks like he got itch/fungus..his colour is paler too.... so I immediatly quarantine him, but yeah he is fine now:) healthy and love to eat! heheheh... and somehow I wondering maybe He loves the small Jar more..I also add the Photos of him making so many bubble nest there..=="

Hiki is an Halfmoon Betta^^
He alil bit shy, love Dry Worm, hate pelet! He phoooeeww every pelet that I gave him =__=" I give up, give the Pellet to neon tetra now..the Tetras is in my smaller aquarium smile.gif.
now He's adapted to Marimo too
He often swim on the marimos, and sometimes he loves to hide between the Super Giant too wub.gif
one of my Giant became his favourite place to rest, he lay his body on the side of my Giant^^
anyway, bought Albino Cories too.. I want to meet Hiki with the Corries, hopefully they can be friends smile.gif.

oooh~nice~wonder howmuch for that type? wub.gif
*
I bought them in Indonesia around 15.000 Rupiahs smile.gif
it means around 5 Malaysian Ringgits? is that right?
I think Bettas here got variation Prices
I bought the cheaper one.. he's around 3-4 months old..
What I bought is Thailand Bettas, I see the Bigger Bettas (the seller said it's from Japan). the Size is much bigger than mine. It's around 75.000 rupiahs..
Some Bettas that being keep for Fish Show/competition is way more expensive..
but I think in the end, the result is all depend on the way you're taking care ur Bettas smile.gif

Hi, thanks for reply.
I place it near the window for the first 3 days it arrived,
because it bubbles well there,
then it turns white day by day  sweat.gif
i put it into fridge every night and give it aquarium light in the morning now,
it still getting white  shakehead.gif
*
yep, it doesn't cure fast... my cousins also did the same, many white on the outside of the marimo
he put the marimo into the fridge spa everynight, and wash the marimo everyday.. he said it's getting better, but the white still there.. smile.gif
be patient, it will be back slowly...

I know the video isn't terrific, but you seem to have some talent for multimedia wink.gif Nice idea using the bamboo/sushi mat as a backdrop xD

As for what the commenter said, while you definitely don't want to overcrowd your tank with too many fish, I know of a concrete/glass "aquarium" that my granny used to keep fish in, no bigger than an average cooler box. It was simply set outside in the open, with no filtration and only water changes whenever it happened to rain. It had tonnes of plants/algae in it. The only thing she'd do to maintain it was toss in some fish food once in awhile. Somehow, it survived for over a decade. (I don't know how it is now because I moved away from Malaysia) Moral of the story, while there is conventional wisdom that most people agree on when keeping fish, you may find you can make your own rules. biggrin.gif
*
hahaha yeah I found it hard to focus the object T_______T often miss focus...*dhaah...
well actualy what I bought is baby Cory >.< they're still small.. while I just surprised that yesterday I saw 4cm size mature cory =_=
because they're still babies, I decided to put the corydoras together^^.. maybe when they're bigger I decided to move them into my dad's KOI ponds.. and maybe I'll get Panda Cory...
I see the Betta seems no problem with them..he looks enjoy swimming and sometimes stop to look look ^^

another 2 videos that I made, hehehe..I think it's better even the expossure not good T_T

Doesn't make any difference if you do either, but damn you're either too broke to buy food or have a gigantic fridge if your tank fits in there. O.o Don't do the "without water" option though, unless you like yellow marimo biggrin.gif

The only exception would be if you're quarantining it from the rest of the tank - then of course you put it in a separate container.

I think that second link might be broken O.o

Your otos are so cute ^^ Do they eat the marimo though?
*
wow yeah I put the wrong link, already put the right one, edited on my same post smile.gif
no they don't eat the marimo, sometimes they swim and sit on the marimo, or clean the marimo, but they never hurt the marimo ^^

now I only use Well Water..still put a lil bit salt and antichlorine tho.. smile.gif PH 7-7.5

Haha, great to hear that, if you do not have any fishes in the tank/bottle, no problem for using direct tap water, save a lot of cost in long run smile.gif
Haha, betta can sustain chlorine in some cases biggrin.gif Yeah, if you are having Marimo only, tap water more than enough and the results are pretty good smile.gif
Very neutral pH level you have smile.gif ur otto superb cute haha
*
thank you ^^
I really fallin in love with ottos, they're relly cute, especially when they're eating or swimming hahaha

I decided to separate the marimos, because I bought the second aquarium and put them with my other Bettas smile.gif
Introducing my Female Salamander Halfmoon, I need a name for her, she's really cute
loves those Nano Marimos, sometimes she sat on it wkwkwkw
She loves to swim around the Giant and Super Giant too smile.gif

marimos and Bettas are really good combination smile.gif

*MARIMO UPDATE*

my super Giant almosttt got the "Velvet texture" rclxm9.gif
the touchy feels are realllyyyy softtt!
my Nano Marimos are softer than this now^__^

all Marimos bought from LEEYUNG

hello, u asked about the lamp, right?
well, I can't tell if ur lamp is enough for ur marimo or not
it should be written on the box, the watt metre, Kelvin and Par metre (if not some products have it written on some side of the lamp)
I'm not so good at electronic either, so I can't see if the lamp is right/not through the photos only smile.gif

thanks. my tank is 1.5feet oni. may i know what will happen if there is insufficient light to marimo if i used the light as posted earlier?

may i know if i on my room light + the led light for 8hours...will it be sufficient??

i got one more light but i couldnt determine whether it is white or sun tube.. by aquazonic super pl-compact aquarium lamp 60cm - 55W..ccan it be used??

so sorry for asking so many questions. i read the 129pages n need some clarificstions..i dowan my momo to die.plan to get more to sccomapny my pity momo tongue.gif
*
marimo is basicaly a low lighting plant...
I light my marimo 8-10 hours a day (read that 4 hours a day already enough too)
just careful don't use too long light, it can cause algae growth to ur aquarium smile.gif

don't use lamp that have UV in it, it kills marimo.

the bigger the watt of ur lamp is all depend on ur tank size smile.gif usually 3 gallon with 2 Watt LED is already enough

thanx azure..by the way..i dont know how many gallon my tank. i just knw its 50cmx30cmx35cm

so my ciplak led light is sufficient already am i right to use in the tank?

i plan to use the ciplak led n room light. save cost..keke..wht u think? will post my pic asap once evrtything is done.

planning to put some fish. but worry the food waste n fish poo will make my momo dirty. momo easy to get dirt. wht type of ikan is recommended to put in my tank n how many ekor??keke..u are all pakar...really need to get advise frm u. if fish make my momo dirty..theni dont want add fish.

ny the way, i read about diy co2. just wonder will it have any good benefit to momo?
*
wow, ur tank is Big, around 13 gallon (50 litre), if u have Betta fish, it will be really happy in there smile.gif)

No need CO2 (in my opinion)
because marimo is a slow growth plant, so it doesn't need CO2 injection, when there are too many CO2, algae can growth too

I use LED light too btw wink.gif
my 3 gallon tank=12 litre, and my marimos are pearling smile.gif
(but not enough pearl to make them floating)
maybe because the light beam is too high (my tanks height is aroun 24 cm)
I use HOB filter too, the tank is really clean and the marimo looks pretty smile.gif
next time I'll post my tank photos.

suitable fish, for me is Betta, because their Poo isn't so many (u can easily syphon the poo everyday)
they look pretty too when they swim near marimo smile.gif left a little bit of poo also fine too
because Aquaplant use them as their nutrition, so that they're more healthy.
U can bath ur marimo every 3 days if u're afraid they will be fast to get dirty.
otocinclus is good and cute, but u need to grow a little algae in ur tank, otherwise they're high maintenance, because they prefer natural food to have longer lifespan, and they're school fishes too, need to have them minimum 3.

other fishes, hmm..u can ask Leeyung and anyone that already put many fishes in their tank smile.gif
