Oh, so you got yours done?
Is it the shop that is selling a lot of laptop accessories like keyboard skins, screen protectors, cooling pad etc.?

i dun trust them le, handling them 3k+ lappy for them just because they are specialist in carbon fiber sticking, i still dun feel safe, i rather i stick myself xD

Nope. Not that shop. It is a rather small shop. I will say half a shop. Specializes in making custom skins for various devices. It is the only one in Sim Lim. Custom Skins cost like 45+ i think. Carbon Fiber sticker are cheaper.

That's the pity part about NP7282, if it came with a secondary generation i7 Core, then it should be perfect! Alienware M18X's tech spec is still better.
But for Sager NP8170, it's a one-to-one fight with Alienware M17X-R3.

That's why there are 2 fans on the CPU as compared to one fan on the M18X hmm.gif

You can buy the components from the reseller whom selling barebone notebook like RJTECH.com. I might buy a new laptop and give the old one to my little bro biggrin.gif

I just checked and compared M18X and NP7282

Upgrading from GTX 460M to AMD HD6970M CrossFire
M18X: USD 400
NP7282: USD 625 (cheapest)

It's like USD 200 extra...hmm..., apparently, Alienware in U.S. is cheaper. Dell Malaysia overpricing Alienware...

@kpchoo29
Depends on your preferences. If the current spec able to handle future games in moderate quality and can serve for many years, it's good enough.

@rickysim84
Probably because of the laptop design itself, or the user didn't do any maintenance for a very long time (getting rid of dust, etc)

hmm...bigger laptop comes with bigger room for cooling?

But this Alienware M18X really gives Sager NP7282 a slap.
M18X is not available in Malaysia, I tried to customize an M18X with AMD HD6970 crossfire in Dell U.S. website. Just choose not to upgrade the RAM and HDD since we can get cheaper here, price might be quite close to NP7282 and somemore it comes with an 18.4" screen.
