QUOTE(Mavik @ May 28 2011, 10:58 PM) Ok cool! Can probably then get the pedals off you as well then on Wednesday. They will do it but they will charge. I did complain that my TSI has this annoying squeky/rattling sound and the SC said its an know issue. They too have a solution-some silicon seal but ......we have to pay for it, cost about RM200++. VGM said its not covered under warranty. Is this reasonable? Cergaz said they will try to negotiate with VGM and do it FOC but to date no news. I plan to heck it and fix it when I send the car for first service lo..pay also I dont freaking mind.Yeah in the last post in the thread you mentioned, (http://myfastgti.com/volkswagen/threads/9123-2010-GTI-Annoying-Wind-Noise-from-Door-Seal?p=191033&viewfull=1#post191033) the fella says that the Technical Service Bulletin Now I really do hope that our local VW service would do this for the cars here. QUOTE(k3v @ Jun 6 2011, 01:30 PM) Agree with broleo... both equally cool. Better dont let your missus-to-be read that post mate...I bought the 4 doors because i was being practical - which 90% of the ppl would likely to have the same thoughts ... in fact, after I got the 4 doors, I wanted the 2 doors (actually its 5 or 3 doors... LOL) because no matter what crap suspension, anti roll bars you put on the darn car, it still rolls!!! So if you ask me again, i will get a 2 doors car now... especially after I just remapped an audi TT on saturday. I couldn't sleep that night... imagining that I was the one driving instead sitting next to the owner with my computer to datalog. I briefly sat up and watch my soon to be wife sleep-on and wonder why did I get the 2 rings first? Should have gone for the 4 rings.... then I realised its too late ROM on June 10... hahhahahahhhaha Later ..she will lecture you on the Suffer "ring"... 4 rings ...ehhh.... the only ring you gonna get after June 10 is suffer "ring". Jk jk onli ...congrats mate... wish you a good one. |

QUOTE(jsc_tidus @ Jun 6 2011, 04:46 PM) currently looking at golf & polo. going to use it for daily school (not a student Golf (if budget allows)..cause Polo TSI kinda too cramp to ferry kids. Furthermore, the Golf is more practical for long term use. Bigger boot...better drive. |

QUOTE(Mavik @ Jun 14 2011, 06:29 PM) As much as I feel your pain but being in the same line previously with digital products (in my previous job), as well as from my friends who work at Apple stores here (Machines, Mac City, etc), it is very hard for a company to launch a new product, whilst trying to clear off existing stock and then keep everyone happy. Its a very simple chicken and egg. I have to agree with Mavik here and I too had the "cheated" experiance, the DRL lights which the SA told me its not coming. But..again...we have to look it objectively like what jwrx said. At the point of purchase, the consumer decided to buy the GTI "as it is". No cheating there..as what we bought is exactly what was stated in the booking form. Well, of course it pains to know that for the same amount of money today, you can get a more "equiped" car but well to me its just tough luck. At the end, VW has the perogative to set what car, what price they want to sell. If tomorrow ..lets say VW sell the GTI R for 209k, there is nothing we can say except..wow...lucky for those who are buying it tomorrow.Coming from a manufacturing environment, trying to make products to suit everyone's needs is a real nightmare but it can be done and it has been done a lot. But the fact that is, Malaysia is such a small market, we don't really get a say in terms of what we want and because of our useless status of a developing nation and not a developed nation, we usually don't get first pick. Gti23, you mentioned you are a photography buff. But let me tell you why in terms of camera manufacturing, it is a lot easier compared to a car. 1) When Canon or Nikon announces the 5D MkIII or D4 (hehehe I wish it would come out sooner!), both Canon and Nikon ONLY manufacture a single type. There is no 5D MkIII with leather grips or 5D MkIII with various ranges of sensors to choose from or one that caters for a CF card and a SD card slot or double SD card. The cameras come in a single specification and that the customers get those specs. 2) Because of these single spec cameras, it is a lot easier on the supply chain. You look at a country/region, expected sales and you plan your manufacturing cycle to meet that demand. 3) For cars its a heck of a difference. You can plan all of that but because cars come with such a huge range of specs, the supply chain is a heck tougher and a lot more complicated. To be really honest, even with the GTI SE version, the reason could even be that the standard stock GTI were out of stock and they had only these versions to deliver hence they delivered it. Trust me, even the cars delivered to Malaysia, not all of them are without any issues. Some even had some minor issues like having the GTD grill instead of the GTI grill. At the end of the day like what jwrx mentioned, at the point in time we pay for what we get. There will always be a better model, specs version coming up. Chill bros, at the end you didnt lose anything at all. Thats the realitty..you still have the GTI. Only paper loss ma...so let not get too hang over ok? Enjoy the ride... |

QUOTE(cyanyde @ Jun 15 2011, 02:32 PM) Funny you mentioned that... I sacrificed my GTI Grill for the GTD one to correct that situation... But I love it to bits!!.. Looks so much sleeker IMO. Ahaha....special edition GTI ala GTD...But...sidetrack..nice RS250 there... would love a comparison review between the GTI and RS250.... Anyways...which branch are you with..I am thinking of changing my SC as I've lost hope with Cergaz.. |
