For those who can't make it to Ampang on Friday, we still have RM10 from the last LYN TT session so some of us are meeting up on Thursday (coz some enthusiastic fellas, me included are going for both TTs) night at TTDI.

Any takers? PM me biggrin.gif

my top 4 mods will be tongue.gif

1. Rieger kit
2. Exhaust
3. Rims
4. Golf R Lights
btw anyone know does the rieger kit from exotic mods have to drill hole or plug and play? ( anyone here installed rieger from them ? )
*
Personally I think the Rieger kit doesn't suit the GTI bodykit so much because when you P&P you can see that its an add on (the front and rear bumper add ons). Go for the full kits biggrin.gif

*
junshern should be asking about the current beetle on the road and yes, I have driven one and I have to say it has absolutely no power. I floored the pedal a couple of times and yet the car damn slow.

The new beetle hasn't arrived on our shores yet tongue.gif

For those who can't make it tomorrow night for the TT in Ampang (refer to k3v's post above), there is another LYN TT here tonight at Taman Tun Dr Ismail at Chida's @ 9pm. Still have our RM10 from the last TT session a month back so need to use that RM10 for everyone as promised biggrin.gif

Chida's is along the same row as Domino's Pizza directly opposite Pizza Hut. PM me directly if you want to know the directions.

See you all there tonight.

Location: Chida's Taman Tun Dr Ismail (mamak by the main road near the fire station)
Time: 9pm

Damn nice rims, definitely matches the Roc but I can't imagine those rims on a 4 seater car.

Guys!
1) Remap? Recommendation? or
2) Chip tuning? Recommendation?
Which is best?
Cheers!
*
Personally I would go with the remap rather than a chip tuning box. My key criteria about the remaps is that the fellas who do the remap for you or even if you decide to go with the chip tuning box, understands Golfs enough to help trouble shoot problems that you might have or even with problems you might have before you remap/add in the chip tuning box.

There are no best best because you haven't given us your preference in terms of driving style. Some people like a smooth curve in power or some people just want the best performance in terms of horsepower and torque. Some people don't mind not having the most power but like a better drive and smooth gear shifts.

About the LED backlight, may i know how much is it ? The vw dealer quoted me rm3400. I think it is quite expensive cause i can get rm2400 shipped form vw germany.
Specifically penang area  rclxms.gif

Added on June 24, 2011, 8:33 pmAnyone here know how to turn of the drl during daytime? I have looked through the manual book but cant seems to change the settings. Thanks!
*
For the Golf R Rear LED Lights, PM bro jwrx here and he will hook you up with it smile.gif

As for the DRL to be turned off during daytime, that needs to be done via coding.

QUOTE(elainor @ Jun 24 2011, 08:49 PM)
Thanks! Will try it on later whether it works or not.

About the connection to iphone, i do saw a cable in my glovebox like a usb adapter, when i connect it with my iphone using iphone cable, the screen shows it is unsupported. Does it works only for ipod and usb sticks? Thanks
*
Connection to the iPhone, you need the iPod/iPhone MDI cable. The cable head is the same as your iPhone cable where it can plug it in straight to your iPhone/iPod.

Looks like this

Yeah man, I saw him at Eastin there at the toll. He got stuck at the Smart Tag lane hahaha. I can't catch you all after the damn Mercedes and Myvi hogged both lanes of the road. Want to overtake but those two jokers were just cruising at the same speed so stuck behind them =.=

Agree with jwrx, most probably the car that you saw is meant to be for the JPJ testing so most of the time its a stripped down version of the car.

The VW MPV 8 seater is the Tuaran if I am not mistaken

but my SA say veemer starting to sell polo DRL and fog lights already..stock available
*
Yeah someone posted in a couple of threads back the price which Veemer was charging for the DRL's and fog lights. Can't remember how much they were charging.

Polo GTI - around 180hp. Plus a remap can probably reach the Golf GTI's power already brows.gif

polo gti 0-100kmh @ 6.9 sec (as claimed by vw) ok ma... cannot afford golf, get polo loh... least can still keep up with gti.. and smoke some tsi golf at cheaper price.. hehe.. and many other cars like civic 2.0
*
you might smoke the civic off the line but at higher speeds, you will see the difference in terms of the NA performance. The 2.0 engine will be able to keep up and overtake you at higher speeds.

I was just saying that although in terms of high horses, NA engines can keep up at the higher ranges of the RPM. Overtook quite a few when going around 210km/h whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif
