Agree as above.
Matriculation is an easier route, but most IPTA prefers STPM certificate.

If I'm not mistaken, most IPTA prefers matriculation.

I am taking STPM, we have General Knowledge and our syllabus included statistics and survey of IPTA student with their pre-U program, score achieved and bla-bla info.
I don't have the report with me but my teacher who was explaining to us based on the statistics tells that more STPM students in most IPTA.

thank you to you-all opinion. I am not a genius. I did not get a "WOW" result in SPM. I just feel i'm very lucky to have an opportunity to enter matrix. Well, I will put more punch into it but it's impossible for me to get 4.0 since i'm taking science stream.

Quick question guys, I didn't get to enter matrix, but my teacher helped me sending the rayuan. Problem is, my science stream are terrible (DDD, but other subjects are A's and B's). So, can I still make it on Accounting? Not to mention the minimum for science subjects in Account are C's so yeah I'm kinda scared.

Also, I searched for a bit and I'm thinking entering A-levels if I failed to enter matrix(Because I really wanted to enter my local uni, UMSabah). But I couldn't find any colleges/university that offers A-levels in Sabah! Anyone know one?

I have been chosen by matriculation but i do not know whether i should go for it or not. One of my friend told me that if a CHINESE go to matrix, he/she have to get the pointer up to 3.8 and have to maintain it. If not he/she do not have the chance to go for local university. Is that true?

Dude, STPM leavers are definitely more knowledgeable and capable than Matriculation students. So, it makes sense they can score better than most Matriculation students. But seriously, I do not think that UPU system will abandon Matriculation over STPM. If your statistics tells that more STPM students in most IPTA, it only shows that STPM students are more than Matriculation students.

Just my humble view, please prove me wrong. biggrin.gif

For me, I will encourage you to take Form 6 IF you can handle it. Cause for me Form 6 is better than Matriculation but if you think you can't handle Form 6, by all means go Matriculation...cause I got some friends who took Form 6 with me but turn out it was too tough for them and now they have to waste their time to re-start back at Foundation and Diploma level while most of us continue with out Degree....
But in term of education quality, i will say STPM is a much better and quality course and have more choices upon completing it compare to Matriculation...
But as for the statistic....i beliv in IPTA have more Matriculations...

I just graduated from matric one month ago.Chinese can get whateva pointer they want and as long as its 2.00 and above can enter uni alrd.In my college the lowest cgpa for chinese is 3.8 and most of us get 4.00.

Added on May 24, 2011, 11:34 amU should enter matric if u are not from a rich family and plans to do courses like med, dentistry and pharm. These 3 courses are very competitive and even if u get 4.0 in stpm, not high chances of u getting these courses if compared to matric students.

u chinese or malay? not meant to be racist but if u are a chinese..GO FOR IT FOR FCUKING SAKE??! do u know it is one of the easiest courses to do well and imagine that, u can do a medic course with matrix easily ??? alot of my friends are doctor now thanks to this matriculation program..if they were to do stpm, i wonder how many would be a doctor right now...which of course, with the in flux of half baked quality dr (esp those from matrix, no offense tho), the future looks bleak in malaysia. and to those who say other ipts do recognise matrix..yeah u are right, but only those C-grade Unis recognise this pre-U.

edit: u shld be getting a 4.0 in matrix..if not, u shld feel very sorry for urself.
