Sullivan: I regret ever hiring Grant

Sullivan also moved to ease fears that relegation from the top flight would have dire financial implications for the club.

QUOTE(zenix @ May 18 2011, 12:45 AM)
IMHO about our competitors next season

Chelsea - If CA stays then they will be a big threat, if he leaves all bets are off. They have an aging squad and if the incoming manager doesn't address that correctly they won't be much a threat but just trying to keep pace while they rebuild.

Arsenal - AW is sure to stay and I think CF will leave and AW will wheeler dealer his way into buying a few diamonds in the rough. Probably have a great initial burst then fizzle away around January.

Manchester City - As long as RM is the top dog there I am not too afraid of them. He doesn't spend wisely, can't get the dressing room respect and his tactics aren't that great. Expect them to win big and lose big no consistency.

Liverpool - Really want to see if what KD is doing there is really showing Liverpool's class or form. Form and luck and so only so far before things fall apart...think FC Schalke 04.

FA Youth Cup. Starting in a few minutes.
Johnstone;
M Keane, Thorpe, Fornasier, McGinty;
Lingard, Pogba ,Tunnicliffe, Morrison, Van Velzen;
W Keane

Hope one of those CM/AMs makes it. Morrison and Poga are skilful, and Tunnicliffe would run through walls for the team.

Added on May 18, 2011, 2:32 amNo chance there would be that many out and ins. We're a club that relies a lot on continuity. There would be very minimal changes.
GK will change of course.
And Scholes and Hargreaves might retire/be let go.
Owen can still stay on for another year. A lot will depend on how SAF feels about Welbeck and if we have space to keep him(25 man thing) in the squad.

Added on May 18, 2011, 2:33 amKuszczak will definitely leave.
New GK(De Gea most likely), Lindegaard and Amos as our 3 next season? Not a lot of experience there.

About upcoming Blackpool game, although want to see Lindegaard play but I think VDS gonna be between the sticks - his last game at OT.

Next season gonna be big for Obertan, I think he will stay.

Yeah, hope the Berbs scores a hattrick this weekend.

Regarding the transfer outs, some are already expected. Some retirements (VDS, Scholes) and some are increasingly likely to be let go (Hargreaves, Kuszczak). Owen's fate will likely depend on Welbeck and Macheda staying, or going on loan. The rest will likely stay. With the exception of maybe Brown, as he has been out of favor after a rumored bust up which is looking increasingly true.

As for the ins, if Scholes retires, expect to see a major signing in midfield to make up the numbers. Giggs is staying, so I doubt there will be a winger brought in. Maybe this will happen next season when Giggs finally calls it curtains. There will definitely be a goalkeeper brought in, as Kuszczak himself has mentioned leaving. Can't see anyone else being brought in besides that. Maybe if Brown does leave and no one from the reserves look ready, then another defender. Probably a young defender, for cover, like Smalling.

Like Wan said. It'll likely be a transition. Not revolution.

Welbeck will be enough as cover for our winger. Scholes retirement will open for Giggs to play more in the center. Although i do hope SAF bring in Modric. he was fantastic. his link up play almost similar to Scholes.

Too bad for Brown though but i guess a new start is needed for him. He fell behind the pecking order thanks to the emergence of Fabio and Rafael plus with Evra and O'shea perform consistently well in the full back area. The center, Brown will be useful as we never know when Ferdinand might be out injured again, along with Evans and Vidic. but, once u had a bust up with SAF, u have only one choice, leave Old Trafford.
