spare parts n service are cheap....u can get cheaper spare parts if order online from other country..and also u lazy wait for the availability of the parts....like me...very lazy 2 wait, not patience type...so, i hv 2 online order instead of warranty....and of coz, SC KILLS u for spare parts...every brands same, no matter malaysia, jap, conti, korean, american....

How about the warranty? I was informed that if you change the parts other than the SC they do not cover for warranty?

Within the 5 yrs period, it is advisable to go for routine scheduled maintenance and pay whatever the SC asks. The published charges within the 5 yr period is actually lower than that of a Honda Civic (which is not high to begin with).

For certain things like brake pads etc, I think you can change them outside since those parts are wear and tear items that are not covered under warranty.

location... jln ipoh / jln segambut... those areas are familiar with 3rd party spare parts...
if u service with SC, then why u opt for 3rd party? just continue with SC je la...
if u didn't service with SC, then baru u opt for 3rd party...


for warranty, i dunno how it works... i never has a chance to claim warranty since my 1st satria...
during that era, SC is really2 sucks, dun have forum or fesbuk to find recommended SC...
send SC ask for repair pun tak ok ok gak, still faulty... so i sent to 3rd party, terus ok... after that fobia with SC... wasting my time...
but nowadays SC improve a lot... not improve je, nama naik in forum, fesbuk, twitter... people saw that, terus avoid with that SC...

some people say u must continuously service with SC based on the schedule.
once u skip the schedule, then warranty voids.
some people say, minor service can do it outside but major service must do at SC to ensure warranty is valid.
minor service like change oil gear + oil filter but ensure keep the receipt.
u change the parts other than the SC will have no issue IF they dunno about it.
during service, they're not free to check all the parts details in ur car so just keep quiet je la...
but IF they found it, then ur unlucky laaa... for sure they will use it as a reason to void ur warranty...

in my case, my forte will be 2 years old this march so warranty finish already...
so dun have any reason why i still need go to SC, just opt 3rd party je la...
my last service, i used hyundai oil filter je, my pomen said can fit so belasah je laaa... until next change, i tgk ok je oil filter tu...
so now i know hyundai parts also can use with our forte...

i dunno about KIA SC whether we can choose what to service or not, if can, then good la... but during my toyota era, i can choose...
eg : brake oil, in schedule stated change at 15k km, i said still yellow lagi dun wan to change, they said ok...
ekon also, 30k km service, i said dun wan coz still cold, they said ok... then ur bill will reduce, so ok la not so expensive...

Currently Kia Forte 1.6 SX got any promotion for 2011 car?

Checked with one sales advisor current promotion just free upgrade to leather seat only.

Here in KL, the offer is free insurance for 1.6 and 2 years free maintenance for 2.0.
This is on top of the usual free gift such as gps,bodykit, K emblem for wheel, front and back, touch and go, boot tray.
The free insurance and 2 years maintenance is actually given by Naza, therefore every branch and dealer should offer the same to customer I assume.
But for those bodykit,gps …., try to deal with dealer instead of Naza Branch for better deal.

guys..my bulb for the frt LHS light just went kaputt..

i think the 2 years free maintenance just for end year sales, until 31st dec only. no more in new year.

Still can see the same offer advertised on mudah. As usual, SA will tell you offer will last till end of the month only. When I visit a KIA showroom last Saturday (31/12/2011) they also say must register the car before month end to enjoy the free insurance. Then I asked back, today JPJ is open? She didn’t answer. I think this offer is for all 2011 made car , to clear stock. Maybe will last until end of February

I was told by one SA that the free insurance and 2 yrs free maintenance promotion is no more valid

tell your SA to feedback to headquarter, if no promotion for yr2011 car, dare they wish to keep their sale after Elantra launching

Actually I want to trade in my old car, so search for higher trade in value hehehe, supposed to Kia Forte 2.0 SX earlier but that time i opt for Proton inspira 2.0 instead hehe, so now want to dispose my old car + this car going be my spare car, so hoping to get better package & do not want get conned by SA. I list down offers i get from Johor SA:-

A) Offer me Free Leather Seat only for SX & EX 1.6, Year 2012 + no other free gifts....

B) Offer me Free Bodykit, Full Tank, Free Tinted, Year 2012

C) Offer me Year 2012, Free Full Tank Petrol but offer higher trade in price. If year 2011 free bodykit, full tank petrol only.

D) Offer Free Insurance for 1.6 SX only, no other free gift.

I wondering SA trying to lie or not, is it possible to get year 2012 car so fast?
How to identify whether it is manufactured 2011 or 2012?
