Is that offer for 1.6 or 2.0? When I asked for 2.0, they offered free insurance+2 yrs free service, no discount though.

QUOTE(small-jeff @ Jan 1 2012, 01:52 AM) I used to drive a '04 Honda City (7 speed). Compare to Forte SX 1.6, ofcos the city has better FC. 140km/h to 160km/h takes bout the same time.. However, on comfort wise, Forte wins by a lot. Basically it's less wind sound, better corner taking at higher speed, faster response when using tiptronic... surprised to hear the new city is worse than the old one..in what sense? also naza kia has improved the noise insulation in the 6 speed model compared to the 4 speed model, so i'm not surprised at higher speeds there's less noise but the 17 inch tyres are noisy on some surfaces..but you get better grip and improved cornering stability though No idea on the new City though, test drove once, didnt like it. Felt the new City seems to be crappier than the older model Been driving a Civic 1.8 '07 too...feels that 140km/h to 160km/h is better on Forte. Also, less noise at higher speed for Forte too.. |

QUOTE(nujo87 @ Jan 2 2012, 10:21 PM) hey guys,im considering a forte 1.6,i dun mind resale value much, coz planning to keep it long term(9 years) I think Korean spare parts is more expensive compare to Japanese cars, because less OEM/Recon part options. If you use original parts from the SC, it should not have much different compare to Japanese car spare parts.but how is the spare part price?since im keeping it long term I come across a shop named Korean CarMates (http://www.korean.com.my/), they claim they are Korean car professional offer reasonable price for service and parts, maybe they are the alternative of Kia official SC. Anyone send the car there before? Any comments? |

QUOTE(epo @ Jan 3 2012, 11:21 AM) all around the world knows spare part is exp when u buy from them (SC)... Couldn't agree more. And now there are actually dedicated spare parts shops that bring in only Korean spare parts, so there shouldn't be any problems sourcing them as cheaply as Jap parts. As a ref, I enquired before, a Kia Picanto timing belt kit costs 1xx only, no different than other non-Korean makes. Wear and tear items are all competitively priced now since there r shops dealing directly with Korean suppliers so they pay bulk prices.as a workaround, try survey a 3rd party spare part shop... they also bring the ori parts... but maybe u need to wait la coz they need to order... even merc owner pun beli spare part kat jln segambut... they also admit that SC will slash them like hell... |
