thanks for your feedback!
for no.2 - it is actually very interesting that the SA mentioned that because 17 inch it has better grip on the road because of it's wider surface touching the ground. to me it sounds logical. did some light google research

"And although it didn’t register on the dBA-meter, the 15- and 16-inch arrangements had a more pleasant sound quality than the larger tires."

1. What is JNS? (sorry to ask)
2. Yep seems. It seems to be true.
3. Sounds reasonable but this is one of my top priority check list smile.gif
4. I asked my SA already. Just need to know the baseline and not ask for the moon and the sun. Wait SA say I'm asking for crazy demands. LOL!

KIA is on tour in penang on 17th to 24th August at the Queensbay Mall so you should go there and test drive the car. All i can say is that the stock kumho tyres for first batch 6 speeder are kinda noisy but to me i'm used to it already and its acceptable actually since low profile tyres take longer to go bold / botak. Newer batch using silverstone should be better tho in terms of less road noise.

QUOTE(ghost321 @ Aug 15 2011, 01:29 PM)
Hi All!

I'm in the progress of buying a car and now I want to get feedback about Kia Forte. I'm not into in the discussion about resale value, perception, T&H comparison. I already know what I wanted and what is my budget etc. Please don't ask me to read 1 by 1 throughout these 11 threads. I find it most of them are out of topic of what I want to find.

I just want to get honest constructive feedback from forte owners here about your kia forte on the following:-
1. Naza Kia service centre for PG Island only - Please feedback on your experience when you took your car to service.

2. Tires noise - I test drove the 4 speed version with kumho tires. it is really noisy. What's your feedback for the 6 speed version. If it is still noisy, what have you done to improve it other then checking the tire pressure? PS:- I'm not going to turn on the car stereo volume loudly tongue.gif

3. Interior and exterior rattling noise - For existing the pioneer 4 speed owners; after 1 yr ++... do you have any of that problem?

4. Any promotion and freebies offered by PG SA?

Thanks!  notworthy.gif

1. My 1st service done in Sg Nibong SC (dealer's SC), generally no negative cmment. They r ok on the phone, I didnt go there personally, no idea how it was there. OTOH, KIA's Sg Pinang branch is quite 'aggressive' in getting customer to their new SC. Receive few phone calls from introduction, service reminder etc from them.

2. I'm on 6speed with silverstone tires. Can't really say there's much reduction. No objective dB measurements anyway. But yes, it's noticeable louader then normal 15/16 in.

3. Cant comments since only 2 months old.

4. Got free full tank, full sets of K emblems, rm300 tint discount something like tht.

i dont think is because kumho tyre, becoz, i had change it to michelin pilot sport 3 and the tyre roaring still there.

sometimes is quite annoying..somehow i feel, my last myvi is much better on road noise compare to forte 2.0 6spd. no kidding.
but other than that, like wind noise. of coz forte a lot lot better.

p/s: after receive a car, i straight away change rims/tyre smile.gif

R34, try change to comfort soft tyres, not those sport type of tyres...sure sport type of tyres offer more noise than soft tyres, as they hv more contact with ground, better hydroplan, better wet grip...n dun forget, tyres worn out faster too....

there's no perfect tyres....
comfort+quiet = less safety/grip, as wet tend to be trouble....
Safety+grip+noisy = less comfort and very noisy, ppl dun like 2 sit in it....

u can choose lor.....obviously if wan get rid of those noise, switch on air cond speed higher, or with audio on....dat shud cover overall noise....no matter hw good ur car's noise insulation was, the tyres noise will always b there...

xioncity,

my myvi was equipped with yokohama advan neova ad07, which is much more noisier and stiff side wall compare to ps3.

michelin ps3 was rated among comfort tyre on performance tyre. i choose this tyre because of grip level on dry and wet.

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin...Sport-3-PS3.htm

thx for ur opinion,

advan neova AD series are consider performance....BUT!!! bware of it's wet grip is TERRIBLE....that's why i sold off the AD08 tyres.....even Kumho had better wet grip than it.....yes, these performance tyres...the better it is, the noisier.....but i still wan try Good year Assymetric F1 version 2.....which is better than PS3....

i'm very particular bout tyre, because that's the only contact between your car and road. willing to invest more on tyre.
