QUOTE(aspirin @ May 20 2011, 03:46 PM) guys, i felt that my forte a bit bumpy.. dunno if this have been brought up before but is there a way to improve it? (e.g. change the absorber or tyre?) I assume u owned a Forte SX. Keep your tire to recommended pressure at 220KPa..if it is still bumpier for u, perhaps u can pressurize it a bit lower to 210KPa. Dont keep your tire pressure far below that recommended figure for the sake of the rims & the tires itself. If that also feels bumpy, perhaps u need to change to high profile tires of 205/55/R16 (of course u need to change your rims too)..that should do the trick fyi, penang driver here.. ;-P This post has been edited by izputra: May 20 2011, 04:41 PM |

Bro Xion..i think u are confusing between Multi Point Injection & Gasoline Direct Injection. Please do more reading to differentiate between this two types of fuel injected engine

Again bro Xion, I think u already confuse between MPI (which Proton use it now) & GDI (which AFAIK, yet to be used in Proton's current production cars). Putra is an old car..i bet that it used MPI

QUOTE(Waachaaa @ May 26 2011, 09:17 AM) Im confused with the CBU and CKD What say u when looking at these pics? : http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1...15.171251799797 It is truly CKD now i guess..just not sure whether parts are mostly imported one or locally manufactured one.Aparts from the tyre. WHat does the chassis number means? K or P? Is that just merely alphabets or mean something. Last heard it was still imported but manufactured some parts locally,is it still the same? I am more concern on the quality and the QA of the car. Forte that are declared as CBU unit used a 'K' chassis number originated from its assembling plant in Korea & it applies to the 1st batch Fortes mostly. CKD Forte instead used a 'P' chassis number originated from a Gurun assembly plant at Kedah..no other meaning as far as K & P is your concern. Quality? only time will tell. The oldest Forte is about 1.5 year in age in Malaysia..& that's for the completely CBU Forte..so it is quite early to judge in term of quality especially for a CKD one Added on May 26, 2011, 12:57 pm QUOTE(XionCity @ May 26 2011, 09:21 AM) Fully CBU only limited units when 1st launched of 4 spd Forte in Dec 09....Start January, will claimed as half CKD, coz shipment here, to rebadge and fix in the 4 doors, where else everything else is fully imported... Except for the 1st batch of Forte 2.0 that came in at the end of March 2010...by now, I THINK parts fully imported, but doors, n tyres are fixed here..other than that, i dunno... QUOTE(enson1985 @ May 26 2011, 06:40 PM) Dear all Fortezen... heard quite a few issue on the start/stop button failure. I'm looking forward to buy a 2.0SX n scare tis issue is not solve. By the way it is due to remote battery weak or brake sensor problem? For me... if it is remote battery weak then it is fine bcoztis is normal wear n tear... in the other hand... if it is brake sensor failure then i would consider it is manufacture defect. Last qs... normally how long the remote battery will last? Mostly due to brake switch problem (not the start/stop button itself) & some cases are due to loose battery terminal connection. Since that the current Forte got 5 years warranty, i think u should consider it as a piece of mind. The part (brake switch) might take sometime to arrive (if no ready stock) but the car still can be started anyway using an alternative method without pressing the brake.Already use my car for almost 1 year 2 months now..the smartkey battery still doesnt show any lack of signal transmission as of now This post has been edited by izputra: May 26 2011, 07:16 PM |

QUOTE(Chronox @ May 30 2011, 09:59 AM) I think let's forget about making police report for now... It is over... I did not make police report, and we settled with him paying his own, and me paying my own... Maybe I should have made police report, hmmm... I think I learnt my lesson... But moving on from here... Yupp..it's me. The damage is quite a minor one..not damaging any of the 4 reverse sensor & the bumper is still structurally intact. How's yours? is the reverse sensors working fine for all 4 of them? Any bumper misplacement that might indicate broken hook? If the hook broken, u might end up with replacing with a new bumper (which is more expensive than repairing) to make sure it will attach to a car body firmly.Where is the recommended workshop for repair... A bro from this forum told me that he managed to get his back bumper repaired for RM400 in his hometown (Perlis)... Just wondering whether the same thing can be done in KL for the same price... I probably just need a bit of touch up and repainting.. Simple job, but I need recommendation for workshop, because I want to avoid "cut throat" shops... :-) Thanks everybody About 3 years back, my wife's car got hit on the door (hit & run). I've asked around for a good 'knock shop' to do the repair. I end up sending my wife's car to one Malay 'knock shop' at Old Klang Road, KL. I have to say that the workmanship is good & the price is reasonable but they took quite long to do such a minor repair (about a week if i'm not mistaken) due to many cars. This 'knock shop' located at a very isolated location & at that time makes me wonder how on earth this guy survive doing this kind of business there. But after seeing their workmanship + reasonable price, i say to myself "no wonder the cars keep coming" This is my story..i've no intention to recommend which 'knock shop' to go or whatsoever. QUOTE(Chronox @ May 30 2011, 10:40 AM) Thanks again Izputra for helping out. The workmanship is good to my eyes (i meant for my wife's car)..but not that i dont want to share a good 'knock shop', it is just that i sent my wife's car there for once only & my judgement is thru that one & only experience with that shop. I afraid later if i recommend it to u & then u didnot satisfy with the repair result, i will end up feeling bad to myself.Mine is just like yours. The damage is quite minor... Deep scratch, but no damage to reverse sensors, and the bumper is still intact (no structural damage)... Come on, you ought to recommend me the "knock shop" at Old Klang Road, if it is so good! What did they do to repair your bumper? Just touching up and repainting the bumper? As of my car case (which i repaired it at Perlis), they just touching up + spray paint & clear coat.
