QUOTE(state of abyssmal @ Jun 27 2006, 02:43 AM) cannavaro really did well in the game. and lucky buffon was there. Cannavaro is the most consistent player on the Italian team! Its so fortunate to have him. No we must hope that Nesta is fit for the next match.aussie keep attacking but no luck on their side. |

QUOTE(rEDs @ Jun 24 2006, 09:48 PM) Materazzi score last game still not good enough to cover the damage/worst play he has ever done on Azzuri in those previous year. Not good enough to impress me. see......he did it again Have to be worry about Bresciano. He's superb in Azzurical environment plays. QUOTE(air_mood @ Jun 24 2006, 09:55 PM) materazzi is a nutcase...the fouls he commits over the course of his career, more like a wrestler than a footballer..thank god he's not the 1st choice in the italian squad... i bet materazzi will retire from international football after this QUOTE(one.good.guy @ Jun 25 2006, 10:56 PM) QUOTE(Firdaus92 @ Jun 27 2006, 01:14 AM) I don't think that Materazzi tackle should be a red card...the aussie player just act to pusing hmmm....donno....for me was a harsh tackle....but i do admit seing the aussie player over "guling" QUOTE(orga_laut @ Jun 27 2006, 01:58 AM) to me, that was not a dive, .. the 1st ball from Grosso, its obvious that he tried hard to get pass the defender, ..n the 2nd one in the penalty box, yes there was a contact, the aussie intended to block Grosso with his body, but then the ref already notice it n gave a penalty.. neway, .. the italians play smart .. the aussie play coward n waiting for extra time, ..italy not winning it, its just Aussie that lost .. lol .. in the tournament like this, effort n hardwork is not enough, .. use brain n a bit luck ..ow yea! Forza Azzuri! n by the way, i wonder y the hell Guus Hiddink did not make any substitution during the departure of Materazzi... he shud have add an attacking player, n push real hard forwards to let the italians make a mistake ... owh well, another wrong decision by the coach, waiting for an extra time against 10 men.. coward.. QUOTE(Nostalgia @ Jun 27 2006, 04:10 AM) Cannavaro is the most consistent player on the Italian team! Its so fortunate to have him. not the 1st time Materazzi did something silly like that. he can play very well but doesn't use his brain sometimes. would much preferred the old horse Paolo Maldini in that role instead of him. too bad he's not in the team. and Lippi can still count on Oddo, Barzagli and Zaccardo just in case Nesta fails to get fit.

actually yesterday Australia got theirself to blame only....
when they are 11 vs 10....they still not play full attacking football... they attack but not fully attack.....they play slow n sometime make me feel that they are the team with 10 players......almost fall sleep at mamak last nite........ anyway, congrats to Italy for the last minutes win... (also save me some money....hehe) |

its so sad to see Oz going out like this but at least they earn lots of respect from other teams during the WC.
anyway congrats to Italy. I think Ukraine wont be a hard oponent, so a good chance to make it to semi |

I think the referee for that match is poor. Materrazi fault should not be a straight red should be a yellow. He did not use hand to pull the opponent down just a body to body contact.
Then gattuso yellow he was trying to clip the ball goes between the leg no intention fault. And for the penalty, if is really trip then is a penalty but i believe grosso have time to jump over his opponent body but he didnt so kinda dive. In the end poor referee but wat to do they are human too, no bionic eyes. |

He as professional footballer i think he fall too easy (but who am i to judge i am not at that situation). But for me i think if is not a slip on the front foot then is a dive which i believe all the player will do. Is not like he dive with no contact. From the pic looks like his front foot have no intent to step firm on the pitch. hehe

QUOTE(cannavaro @ Jun 27 2006, 10:24 AM) And the scum's left arm looks suspicious. Heck, when I see it repeatedly, the right arm looks suspicious as well, as if he's scooping Grosso's leg. |
