http://www.unbase.com/n/5853623009

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

The History

1959 - Shankly appointed manager

user posted image

December 1st 1959 is a date that will forever be etched in the annals of Anfield history. For it was on this day that Liverpool Football Club announced Huddersfield Town boss Bill Shankly would be their new manager in succession to Phil Taylor.

On his appointment he released 24 players and began to reshape the team.Promotion to the First Division was achieved in 1961–62, and the club won the League for the first time in 17 years in 1963–64. Another League title followed in 1965–66, after the club had won their first FA Cup the previous season. The club won the League and UEFA Cup in 1972–73 and the FA Cup again a year later; after this, Shankly retired and was replaced by his assistant Bob Paisley.Paisley was even more successful than Shankly and the club won the League and UEFA Cup in 1975–76, his second season as manager. The following season they retained the League title, won the European Cup for the first time, but lost in the FA Cup final, narrowly missing out on a treble. Liverpool retained the European Cup the next season, and the season after won the League again with 68 points—a domestic record, conceding only 16 goals in 42 league matches.During the nine seasons Paisley managed the club, Liverpool won 21 trophies, including three European Cups, a UEFA Cup, six league titles and three consecutive League Cups. The only domestic trophy to elude him was the FA Cup.

Paisley retired in 1983 and (as Shankly had done) handed the reins to his assistant, veteran coach Joe Fagan. The succession of coaches came from the Anfield Boot Room where the Liverpool staff discussed strategy and allegedly stored gin.[10] Liverpool won three trophies in Fagan's first season in charge: the League, League Cup and European Cup, becoming the first English side to win three trophies in a season.Liverpool reached the European Cup final again in 1985. The match was against Juventus at the Heysel Stadium. Before kick-off, disaster struck: Liverpool fans breached a fence which separated the two groups of supporters and charged the Juventus fans. The resulting weight of people caused a retaining wall to collapse, killing 39 fans, mostly Italians. The match was played regardless and Liverpool lost 1–0 to Juventus. English clubs were consequently banned from participating in European competition for five years; Liverpool received a ten-year ban, which was later reduced to six years. Fourteen of their fans received convictions for involuntary manslaughter.

Fagan resigned after the disaster and Kenny Dalglish was appointed as player-manager.During his reign, the club won another three League Championships and two FA Cups, including a League and Cup "Double" in 1985–86. Liverpool's success was overshadowed by the Hillsborough Disaster: in an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest on 15 April 1989, hundreds of Liverpool fans were crushed. 94 fans died that day; the 95th victim died in hospital from his injuries four days later, and the 96th died nearly four years later without regaining consciousness. After the Hillsborough tragedy there was a governmental review of stadium safety. Known as the Taylor Report, it paved the way for legislation which required top-division teams to have all-seater stadiums. The report ruled that the main reason for the disaster was overcrowding due to a failure of police control.Dalglish cited the Hillsborough Disaster and its repercussions as the reason for his resignation in 1991. He was replaced by former player Graeme Souness. Apart from winning the FA Cup in 1992, Souness achieved little success and was replaced by a former member of the "Boot Room", Roy Evans. Evans fared little better: a League Cup victory in 1995 was his only trophy. Gérard Houllier was appointed as co-manager in 1998–99, but was left in sole charge after Evans resigned in November 1998.

In his second season in charge Liverpool won a unique treble of the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup.In the 2001-02 season, during which Houllier underwent major heart surgery, Liverpool finished second behind Arsenal. The following seasons failed to live up to expectations and Houllier was replaced by Rafael Benítez. The club finished fifth in his first season in charge but won the UEFA Champions League by beating Milan 3–2 in a penalty shootout after the match finished 3–3.The following season Liverpool finished third with 82 points—their highest total since 1988. They won the FA Cup as they had the Champions League victory the previous season, by beating West Ham United in penalty shootout after the match finished at 3–3. In 2006–07, the club's search for investment came to an end when American businessmen George Gillett and Tom Hicks became the owners of Liverpool in a deal which valued the club and its outstanding debts at £218.9 million. That season, the club reached another Champions League final, but this time lost 2–1 to Milan

REDS AROUND THE WORLD: MALAYSIA
Jonno Lim, Malaysia 13 January 2009

Meet 32-year-old events manager Jonno Lim, who helps run an independent supporters’ club and gets up at the crack of dawn to catch the Reds in action with hundreds of other fans in a crowded Malaysian bar.
Like most things, my association with the Malaysian independent supporters' club started with a few beers. After meeting on the fans' forum Red and White Kop (RAWK), we decided that as there were a fair number of us Reds in the same corner of the world, the least we could do was watch a game together in a bar.

Liverpool ran home 3-0 winners over Everton at Goodison Park that day in August 2003, with Michael Owen scoring a brace and Harry Kewell getting the third goal just before the final whistle.

Having supported the club from afar for so long, it felt very special to be enjoying a Liverpool victory with a few like-minded people. I had watched the Reds with friends before, but nothing like this. Even the owner of the Boardwalk on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur was a Reds fanatic, so it became known as the closest thing any Malaysian Red could get to the special Anfield atmosphere.

There are so many Liverpool fans in this part of the world, and they all have their own story to tell. Some adopt the Reds because of their history, others simply get drawn in by the miracle of Istanbul in 2005 or the breathtaking 'Gerrard Final' of 2006.

The only reason I can offer for following the Reds is probably quite similar to most people's - all of my family are massive Liverpool fans. It goes way back to the seventies and beyond, so it was a no-brainer for me to be the same as them.

My earliest memory is of Michael Thomas and Ian Rush securing the FA Cup for Liverpool with great goals against Sunderland at Wembley in 1992. I can also vividly remember Neil 'Razor' Ruddock holding his head after scoring a late equaliser in the dramatic 3-3 draw with Manchester United in January 1994.

Nigel Clough scored twice that day, but the look on Ruddock's face will remain with me forever - the ball hit him on the top of his head before going in the net and he seemed in quite a lot of pain while celebrating his decisive goal at Anfield. I couldn't stop laughing.

As time went by, my Liverpool obsession grew. We experienced many joyous Saturday and Sunday nights at the Boardwalk over the years and celebrated many great Liverpool victories there. But our friend, Bala, soon told us he had to sell his bar and we were left with nowhere to watch our beloved Reds during the early hours of the morning over here in Malaysia.

And when the new owner of the Boardwalk told us they would not be opening for the 2007 Champions League final clash with AC Milan due to the fact it would be kicking off at 3.30am over here, we knew that we had to act quickly to find a new venue.

After a long and frustrating search, we finally found a small pub that would open for the match. We got in touch with our friends and fellow supporters to join us for the big game, as we knew that whenever Liverpool was involved in a big European game, it was guaranteed to be something special.

We only really expected about 50 people to turn up at the most, but the bar ended up being crammed full with about 200 fans, all screaming at the screen, willing on the Reds. We were all disappointed that Rafa's men did not win that night in Athens, but a few of us knew right then that not only did we need a bigger venue, but also a proper fan club to bring all of these Liverpool supporters together.

We called our new supporters' club 'MyRAWK', as most of us had met through RAWK, while the ‘My’ stands for Malaysia and also gives us a sense that a certain part of LFC can belong to us individually.

Things were tough at the beginning, but settling on the M Bar as our exclusive home for watching all the games helped us a lot. The owner agreed to open up at all the unsociable hours involved in supporting a club many miles away and laid on a host of generous drinks offers.

What started as a small MyRAWK blog soon turned into a full website, and before long we had Liverpool fans joining us from all over for our match-viewing parties. From local lawyers to homesick expats, tourists to ex players (Ian Rush once even joined us - that was a very special day), the M Bar is now full of fervent fans week in, week out. I usually take up the microphone at each event and am always proud to be the official master of ceremonies.

We even have our futsal team and are also in the process of setting up a full 11-a side side. Our interim team recently won our first trophy, the Christmas Cup and one day we hope to have a proper team which takes part in the local social league.

But due to the exchange rate and distance, not many of us have been lucky enough to get over to Anfield. I am currently saving up to make the pilgrimage one day next season with a few other fans. I'm sure that once we get up close to Liverpool's hallowed home, there will be many of us who will be close to tears, as this would be nothing short of our visiting our very own Mecca.

One of our newer members, Phil, who now lives in Liverpool, always talks about how unbelievable it is that a bunch of guys who have never seen the Reds play up close can wake up in the middle of the night to support a team who are playing nearly 7,000 miles away, only to go back to bed and rise for work less than two hours later.

But none of us at MyRAWK would have it any other way. Witnessing another Liverpool victory make all the long, sleepy days in the office after a match worth it - and believe you me, there have been a lot of those in recent years.

Liverpool fury over sick Heysel T-shirts on United fans' website

A Manchester United fans' website has sparked outrage by selling souvenirs taunting Liverpool football supporters over the Heysel Stadium disaster.

Republik of Mancunia Merchandise is selling T-shirts and badges emblazoned with three stars and bearing the slogan 'Without Killing Anyone'.

This is a clear reference to United's three European Cup wins and to the riot before the 1985 final in Brussels between Liverpool and Juventus when 39 Juventus fans died.

UEFA banned English clubs for five years. Disgusted Liverpool fans branded the sellers as 'shameful' for 'profiting from the dead'.

It should be 2 hours before the game that they will name the lineup. Carroll is still unfit right? Fulham is a tough team to beat at Home.

Lol... It's hard to win tonight in a big margin at craven cottage. Fulham it's quite tough at home. When comes to goals different, they are goods, maintain at +7. I expect it would be nice if we could win far more than 2 goals

Yeap the confidence level is there, its more like bunch of good friend enjoying football.no stress or no complaining among each others. Btw are they playing samba, short passing,, coz its seems fast and neat and tidy.. Not like gerrard era, holding it then crossed from left and right,

Let it be know officially now that Liverpool do play better without Gerrard. Obviously, he still has a place in the team but there's no denying that our build ups are free flowing and unpredictable without him at the center pulling the strings.

This is sad indeed knowing the fact that had KD took charge of the team at the start of the season, who knows where we would end up right now and possibly preventing scums from lifting number 19.

Couldn't believe how the hell we hired Woy in the first place. I mean...seriously...god

I was skeptical at first as this is an away match but what a game! Maxi ran riot! Carra must be delightful for his 666th appearance. Not a nice number though but who cares!

Unlucky for Meireles, he pulled his hamstring. We got Spurs coming to Anfield this Sunday and I hope his absence won't affect us much coz we got a good squad as a whole.

2 games left. Should win all!

well then it will just undo all the good work that has been done. if a new manager comes in, the team need to adapt again, and that is to change a good working system that we have at the moment. not easy

all in all, its bollocks when managers dont have the final say in transfers. its the manager who will be using the players, not some commercial scout or anything... too bad...

Added on May 10, 2011, 9:08 amanyway, just to add is... 4th is still possible. we just need to win our matches and hope results go our way. looking at city's current form, i would say we do have chance

I'll take 5th spot for this season and hope Tot loose tonight. Next week we beat Tot confirm 5rth place dy... ManC will be beaten in the playoffs anyway, so they won't be playing CL next season...

I kinda respect Fulham though - lesser teams would have caved in and gone on a damage limitation exercise... they came at us in the second half, which made for a great spectacle even for the neutrals.

really? u already predict the future? playoff will be before the start of new ePL season right? i reckon we will see a new Man City next season. their owner will surely splash more cash to bring in more players.

What a game, totally worth my time waking up at 3am to watch them play. Start of the 2nd half was pretty tension, Fulham was all over us and they finally get to score to make it 1-3. But the team responded well with 2 more goals to settle the game. Fulham 2nd goal was unstoppable, no blame on defence and Reina.

A 5 star performance from the team, let's beat Spurs this Sunday and claim the 5th spot

Woke up to watch the match last night, I was up 20 minutes late and to my horror (still blur that time), 3 - 0 to Liverpool. I had to jog my mind a bit whether it was a home game or away game. They definitely were playing like they were at home. Suarez was magnificent, tearing up defenses and giving their defenders hell to deal with.

We will have to ship out some players but definitely not Maxi. He's proven us all wrong about his form and I'm happy most of us were wrong. Cole, Degen, Konchesky, Poulsen, Jovanovic, MUST be shipped out. We need a left wing and/or left back as our main priority.

we have a mathematical chance of CL though its slim. ManC have to sleep the their nex 3 matches and we win our last 2. Finishing 5th is just a matter of pride for me. Europa is a distraction.

I rather we sit out europe nex season and concentrate with the momentum we have now. Travelling mid week to far and away country risking injury for Europa??? not very tempting ler.

the only thing in my mind is we keep winning and hopefully we make 4th.... and also how the Warrior kit will look like next season.

The King Kenny factor again eh? In just a short time, he's transformed a side over reliant on it's skipper and star striker into a side that realies on one another. Would anyone have put money on players like Mereiles, Kuyt, Spearing, and Maxi stepping up to the plate in the absence of our maligned captain to support our "star" strikers? This is what Rafa intended to achieve but never really did. Back then his start forward was Mista but the goals came from everywhere. Seems like King Kenny has completed what he started.

Were we piss poor not solely because of Woy but also Torres?
Food for thought eh, unfair to blame Woy alone?

The only team to do better than us in the second half of the season was Chelsea though, despite our ex striker being absolutely dismal at times for them.

Is what happens when you centre your play around just one player isn't it? Houllier relied heavily on Owen's pace and we were ultimately found out. If you look at Dalglish, everyone contributes and in the absence of Gerrard, not any one players stands above the rest.

just for the fun of it. currently, manc at 62pts (21 goal difference), lpool at 58pts (18gd) and spurs at 56pts (7gd). both manc and spurs got another 3 games with one of the game they face each other, and lpool got 2 games left with one facing spurs. the only way that i figure we can get 4th is:
1. we win both of our remaining games (vs spurs and villa)
2. manc lost to spurs and draw both of their other game (vs stoke and bolton) - if they got more than 2 points, its over for lpool.
3. spurs lost to lpool, win against manc, and do whatever they want to birmingham
if the scenario above happens, lpool will have 64pts, level with manc. if manc lost by 1 goal to spurs, and lpool won by 1 goal against spurs and villa, the goal different also will be the same, but lpool will be 4th with more goal scored.

if manc win one game, they will get 4th.

spurs need to win big in all of their remaining 3 games (5-0, 6-0 etc) to get 4th since their gd is lowest, hoping manc only get only 3 points or less in 3 games.

so, spurs vs manc tomorrow morning is the most important game to all 3 teams.

Yes, Kenny is the right man to materialized what Rafa started and take the club forward. Its not a surprise we didn't struggle to score in a game without gerrard and torres anymore. and for Kuyt to consistently scoring even with the stick that he received from fans for years. Kenny done wonders! FSG is mad not to sign him for permanent deal.

btw, 4th is possibility but very2 slim chances. 5th is good enough considering the position we are in early in the season.

what a through ball from shelvey, kuyt with the dummy and suarez putting it in the net.

What a difference having Glenn playing in right back. It's almost as if we had a winger attacking down the right. Not trying to take anything from Flano but the difference of composure and attacking prowess between the two is like night and day.

I think Lucas right now has truly come out of his shell, he's been good this season but lately he's taken it up to the next level. If Suarez is the brain of the team then Lucas is simply the heartbeat of the team. He has the guile and intelligence of Xabi, the aggressiveness of Masc and i dare say a better leader than Gerrard. He's vocal but not dominating; a trait that has allowed his midfield partner to settle in and blossom. Spearing is just one the many midfielders he has clicked with. He doesn't dictate the play instead he distribute the ball in all direction and allowed his teammates to be more active in buildups. I don't think Spearing would be as good as he has been had Gerrard been playing instead of Lucas.

Our recent run reminds me a lot of the 2008/2009 2nd half run. we were on fire. wining matches with goals and finish the season 2nd. everyone is optimistic the following season but fate were to have another plan for us.

Its always nice to see the team winning with relying on captain wonder and the young one playing. I can see everyone is having fun on the field right now. I'm hoping the summer prep will build on the fantastic jon KD have done so far.

My colleague told me about it this morning. Summer release. Can't wait. Looks to be a touching story and I'm glad that the magic of Istanbul is going to be played on the silver screen. Man, I shed tears each time I think about Istanbul and our half-time revival. I read testimonials from the players over and over again. I dare say very few fans would still be singing being 3-0 down. People talk about songs involving glory and riches but ours is about sticking together and at half-time in Istanbul, the fans let the players know that they still believed, and that they were still behind them. I still remember Steven Gerrard's battle cry as they walked out onto the pitch for the second half.

QUOTE
Unbelievable. Liverpool were 3-0 down, being trashed by Kaka and Crespo, and our fans were singing "You'll Never Walk Alone". All the players looked at each other in amazement, and pride. "They bloody well haven’t given up on us," I shouted, "so we cant give up either." By singing "You'll Never Walk Alone", the fans sent a message to eleven shattered men in the dressing-room: the fans will be with you, through the wind and the rain, through times of adversity like this. No matter how much the players hurt, we'd never walk alone. Our fans were with us. Together. Their message was to play for some respect, play for pride in the shirt. "The fans are with us," I said. "Let's give them something to shout about. They've spent loads of money. They're singing our name and we are getting stuffed 3-0. If we get one, they'll get behind us even more. That will help put another one in for us. Come on, let's f***ing have a go!"

Its the same with RB ain't it. Come to think of it, most managers would've want full control over transfers since its their neck that's on the line if the transfers/results don't turn up well. Esp so for British manager, where it isn't a norm to have the Director of Football as a watchdog. More so Kenny, an old school manager in a time there's no such nonsense as DoF & managers have ultimate say in every team decisions.

Those of you who know our King from before, would acknowledge that he is a class act. He never whines or complains. He is a master at handling press interviews and is both humorous and spontaneous. In fact, he does remind you a little about Shankly, albeit a little less blunt. He is also fondly remembered by all Liverpool fans for his conduct after Hillsborough where he attended and gave tribute at numerous funeral services. Here are some of his quotes :-

“There is no one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.” - Dalglish

“For me personally I came here to win three points and if Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea Manager) had been playing up front I’d still have wanted the three points. The personnel and the opposition are not important to me. Whatever someone wants to do with their life, that’s entirely their choice. Our incentive was to get three points and that’s what we did and the only people who are important to me are those in red shirts”. – Kenny when pressed on Torres factor when Liverpool won against Chelsea in Feb 2011

Oldie but a good one: Dalglish couldn’t resist a dig as he walked past his rival manager in the tunnel while carrying his young daughter Lauren. He said to the radio interviewer speaking to Ferguson: “You’d be better off talking to my baby. She’s only six weeks old but you’d get more sense from her than him.”

Press: How do you stop a cruise ship?
KD: Well there's big brick walls isn't there. It's usually called a port.

Press: Where were you when you got the call, Kenny? By the pool?
KD: Like any true professional athlete, I was at the bar. laugh.gif

KD: I’ve not had time to do much – I’ve not identified any new staff or players or anything like that. In fact, it took me a bit of time to identify the current players.

Interviewer: When was the last time you cried?
Torres: (something or other)
Dalglish: I can't remember
Interviewer: You a hard man, then Kenny?
Dalglish: Not really... 'ave just got a terrible memory

Interview: What's your most extravagant purchase?
KK: Marriage licence

Making no apologies for this at all - my favourite Kenny quotation ever is in here:
MccKuntbag: "How can we correct the situation?"
Kenny: "You know that big headline – 'The Truth'? All you have to do is put 'We lied' in the same size. Then you might be all right."
MacKuntbag: "I cannot do that."
Kenny: "Well, I cannot help you then." - That was it. I put the phone down.

Dalglish on modern dangers with refs...."If you say Good Morning to somebody you've got a chance of getting a red card"

"Daniel Agger came off because he had a stomach problem, I knew he had a stomach problem because I went into the toilet after him!"

"If the supporters like me, then it's only half as much as I like them."

QUOTE
You will get more sense out of my baby! The day Dalglish and Ferguson famously clashed at Anfield 23 years ago

Before Dalglish's Liverpool and Ferguson's United clash on Sunday, we take you back to a memorable clash between the two great rivals 23 years ago at Anfield.

Liverpool were still very much the premier force in English football in the late 1980s, and Ferguson made changing that his top priority.

The 1988 vintage is the best Liverpool that I can personally remember - a team that you would have strongly fancied to win the European Cup were it not for the ban on English clubs at the time.

And Dalglish's men were racing away with the title when these two great rivals clashed on an April afternoon 23 years ago.

United were in decent form themselves though, and always fancied themselves in individual contests against Liverpool.

Bryan Robson put the visitors in front at Anfield, but this only acted as a spur to Liverpool, who scored twice before half-time through Peter Beardsley and Gary Gillespie.

Steve McMahon fired home a brilliant third to extend Liverpool's lead early in the second half. John Motson shouted in the commentary box that it was one of best goals of the season 'even by Liverpool standards'.

Robson, United's permanent saviour in those years, scored again with a deflected shot to give Ferguson's men hope but when Colin Gibson was sent off the points looked to be heading to the hosts.

United had other ideas however, and Gordon Strachan burst through for United and coolly scored an equaliser in front of the Kop.

The Scot's infamous celebrations, which involved him smoking an imaginary cigar, would be one to savour for United supporters.

The match finished 3-3, and would have stayed in the memory even if the post-match interviews were forgettable. As it happened, they were explosive.

First there was Ferguson, bitterly complaining that decisions had gone against his side. He claimed to radio reporters that it was no surprise managers ‘have to leave here choking on their own vomit, biting their tongue, afraid to tell the truth’.

Not too many rival managers have stood up to Ferguson, particularly when in full rant mode. Dalglish wasn't daunted however, and carrying his baby daughter Lauren past Ferguson, said: 'You’ll get more sense out of her.'

Liverpool went on to win their 17th title that season, with United still stuck on seven. It seemed at that time as if Liverpool's domination of English football would never end.

I would also like to point out that aside from attending many of the Hillsborough funerals, Dalglish also entered Walton Prison to placate the inmates who were understandably less than pleased with the police.

those that had the opportunity to watch, witness KD in his playing days & thereafter his first stint as player/manager knows that he is consistent in his sense of homour,

well, maybe now...like fine wine0...more at ease of himself
(given the catastrophe/ disasters that had befallen on liverpool back then, the biggest was the complete shut out sentence from europe competition by UEFA, after heysel stadium disaster< to me it was as if a devil casted an evil cursed on us.

dalglish has made liverpool players comfortable with themselves, the smiles, the jokes, the spirit is clearly shown in the way we play, the way the players express themselves. At a time all the players we so sick of the upper management in-fighting (u know who la) that they could not love to play football.

the cloud has shifted, though in my opinion... it hasn't fully blowen over (just give the dalglish the job, fenway as the conflict over players transfer may just be a cancerous black spot that feeds negativity)

the 'honeymoon' period is still in at liverpool, once the pre season gets started (& once we sort the gaffer position) the real work begins.

Well Comolli hasn't been around long enough to make a decent comparison especially when you consider that this is King Kenny's 2nd coming. I'd like to keep things simple and I think it makes sense for the gaffer to have control over which players he wants. In recent times we've seen players forced down the throat of managers eg. Shevchenko and Bellamy.

King Kenny has rarely made a mistake in the transfer market. Let's look at some of the players he's brought to Merseyside. Ian Rush, John Aldridge (replacement for Ian Rush), John Barnes (one of the best left wingers in his prime - anyone remember his goal against Brazil?), Ray Houghton, Peter Beardsley, Rocket Ronnie! (supersub), Steve McMahon, Jamie Redknapp, Steve Staunton, Barry Venison, Glenn Hysen, Luis Suarez, Andy Carrol and other lesser known but still familiar names like David Burrows, Steve Harkness and Don Hutchison. He has hardly put a foot wrong. The only concern is his familiarity with the foreign market which may be more down Comolli's street.

Nothing but luck we need at the moment, hoping City slump tonight, even if Spurs gonna go ahead of us by 1 point, we still have them on sight at Anfield; if we beat them (C'mon Reds), we would be hitting 61 points, leaving us just 1 point behind , providing City lose again over the weekend and hoping for a yet another miracle of the final day of the season , with City to lose again, and we go on and clinch the 4th Champions League spot.

How's that sounds?

There's a story i once read about a first encounter with Dalglish. Some lucky man saw Kenny at a gas station, so he gathered himself and went straight up to him. He said something along the lines "Kenny, it will my honor to shake your hand". Kenny looked at him and cooly asked "Are you a red?" The man said "Yes, all my life". To that Kenny grabbed his hand and said "No, it is my honor to shake yours". Classy man, it's stuff like that, that transcends a man into immortality.

To me Comolli seems no more than a glorified scout. But he is the main man for NESV, so I suppose whoever steps into the hot seat needs to be able to work with him.

I thought both suarez and Carroll are Comolli's pick.

yeah. like u've said. recently managers have no control over transfers. Chelsea is the obvious example as well as Real Madrid. if Suarez and Carroll are both Comolli's pick, lucky for Liverpool that KD managed to find a way to fit them into his tactics.

personally, i think it is best if manager get full control over who he want to buy. different people different choice but if Comolli and KD able to work together that will be a massive boost for Liverpool.

Before coming over he said something really important and it's showing. He said that managers often come in with a list of players then want to buy but when he was going to take over from Hodgson, he said he was just looking to work with the players he had. Look at what he's done. The players are playing out of their skin for him. King Kenny is a fantastic motivator and has always managed to get the best out of his players.

i suppose it who gets the final veto? no?

i'm sure it can be ironed out. Comolli & the talent scouts can unearth all the gems they can, dalglish puts who comes on, its pointless even if at the end Comolli gets the big say in transfer, if he (player) doesnt pull his socks, he aint gonna be featured in consistantly in games.

I dont think its a big issue (as the media/paper puts it), if i think what Dalglish is doing is,
he placing the importance of the this season remaining liverpool games ahead of his own pen to paper acknowledgement (in which if i trust my instincts, its a mere formality).

i wont speculate more about dalglish final fate but sincerley hope we win the last 2 games. What happen to others aren't within our control & any higher then 5th position in league standings is a bonus,...

possibly, just possibly a sign that the curse of an evil, evil spell has weaken & it may just be the doing of the 2nd coming

Here's how i hope it's gonna go down. Spurs to beat City tonight. City wounded, looks to redeem themselves by beating Stoke in the cup final and do so. Stoke, bitter for their defeat look to redeem themselves by denying City any points few days later. We beat Spurs and now both clubs push with us it to the last day to secure the 4th place. Bolton are no pushovers at home and here's hoping that City will crumble under their own weight. Yes, one can only dream. smile.gif

How King Kenny brings out the best of previously ordinary players just leaves me speechless.. Remember how many Liverpool fans once suggested of selling players like Maxi and Lucas during RH's reign? How we use to joke about the ability of Spearing and Shelvey. And how we only rely on 2 players for the past few seasons. When was the last time we saw 17/18 year olds giving MOM performances..

I'm not saying KD is tactically better than RH but the persona of a motivator really transpire into the spirit of a team, motivates individuals.
In fact, he does have a good tactician mind. The 5 players def line with 3 central def and 2 wing backs during the win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge proves that the manager has more than a good personality to handle the job.

Credits to King Kenny!

Almost the same players, except Torres being replaced by Suarez.
While just a few games by Carroll, (actually didn't play too many games).
From bottom 2, relegation battle to realistic 5th place, and mathematically hope for 4th, this is massive.

and the most important, Anfield become a fortress again.

It'll be great for us. Because even if they draw, spurs will still be below us and edge us closer to city.

I'd rather spurs win vs city tonite, then we beat spurs at anfield. Makes 4th spot very much achievable. It really depends on tonite's results.

Btw did anybody get their new away jersey yet?

Well i missed that match..
But after watching the goals and the special suarez video...
Hmmm, i felt Suarez lift the team up very much...
Suarez has such high confidence to take on defenders...
Not forgetting to mention "Messi" Rodriguez... He is on fire!!! Confident to long shot as well...

Watching Suarez plays was fun. Full of passion even in the dying minute when we already lead by 5-2. Hungry for more. What a fighter. Holds ball well, dribble well, pass well, cross well...I cant help but amazed by how he hold Hangeland back and get the ball...not only once but throughout the game. Fantastic play by suarez. Deserved MOTM. Pity Maxi din get it but I think Suarez deserves it more.

Thanks to skyz for the Suarez's video. Its a great compilation. This is the an attacking team in overall. Shelvey done during 2nd half, inch perfect pass to Suarez for a wonder goal.

Chances are good we will get Europa league next season. Just curious at which stage do we start if we do finish 5th this season. This could affect their date in bukit jalil.

Added on May 11, 2011, 7:05 amJust found out it'll be the play off round and should start sometime around mid august. Amazing feat done by the team and king Kenny in half of a season turning from relagation woes to European football. Let's beat spurs this weekend and march on to Europe!

I'm already more than proud for what the club has achieved this season considering we were languishing at the bottom half of the table in Dec-Jan.

If we get the Europa spot then it'll be what Kenny said "a bouns".

We should all give thanks to a few points that has struck for us over the pass few months:

1. Debt ridden to possible par and profitability for next season
2. Bigger transfer coffers (courtesy of NESV) for more logical summer transfers tongue.gif
3. Arrival of young talents from the Academy, blooded and proven (till date)
4. Arrival of Suarez (courtesy of Torres)
5. Arrival of Andy Carroll (courtesy of Torres)
And to me the Biggest OMFGWTFBBQ Thanks to God who loves LFC! The second coming of King Kenny - back to our shores to create a legacy that the man and the Club deserves! (And he won't need 21 years to chase down any other club and has no such obsession that makes him an arrogant and spiteful person - this is also something we have to give thanks to smile.gif )

You'll Never Walk Alone!

Hell yeah! Bona fide fifth, no more having played a game more. Now let us finish the job this weekend at Anfield.

Won't be an easy task though, Spurs having unsuccessfully fought all season for that UCL place will be in no mood to be knocked out of Europe completely and will most likely put up a full blooded challenge!

Some of us still appreciate what Torres has done for us. But none will ever forget his blatant act of betrayal (having said repeatedly that he wanted to stay, and his post transfer interviews). He has forever lost his 'myth' and charm in the eyes of many. Cakap jer love the club, in the end nothing more than a common selfish mercenary.

Make no mistake about that.

Me? It pains me to see that he seems to be but a shadow of his old self, but I would also admit that seeing him turn into a lemon overnight does give me a tad of satisfaction, as cruel as that may be.

It doesn't bother me much personally when players leave or how they leave because I accept that football is a career for them. What I ask is for them to respect the club when they come back as an opponent. You see some players withold from celebrating after scoring against their former club. You see some players look to the fans and clap their hands to thank them for their support when he played for them. You get players complementing the fans that once supported them during the post-match press conference. This is what matters to me, that after moving on, their respect for the club and it's fans is intact. If you as me, Torres has said nothing disrespectful to the club or it's fans since leaving. He has said something about the old owners but not about the club.

It's why I lost a lot of respect for Wayne Rooney when he lashed out at Everton supporters, kissing his Man Utd badge in front of them when they were giving him stick. Doesn't matter that the fans are pissed, you still respect the club, especially the club you were born into.

I beg to differ, when you leave an organisation, you do not badmouth anyone. not even your crappy bosses. it is the mark of a lesser man.

I would like to believe that he was ill advised. But I am not sure if he was. I do think I prefer that Tottenham defender who openly admits that he is in it for the money.

I am sure he watches post game summary shows, sees the kind of movement and dynamism the team now plays with, the camaraderie amongst the players... i hope it gives him a pang of regret. a monster truck sized pang.

You know what Duke, maybe i am tired of being diplomatic all the time. I am sick of saying the right things, having to suppress what I really feel just to be polite. Happens in real life and in here as well. I think Torres acted like a great big turd. If he didn't once play for the club i'd be using much stronger words to describe him too.

Also, in the RAWK forums people generally avoid talking about him. Is it because he is no longer our player? Naaah that's just a big freaking excuse. We talk fondly of Alonso, no? It is because of the one selfish act by a self loving turd has hurt a whole load of people. It could have been any other player though, if it wasn't Torres, it would have been another further down the road who gives us that rude wake up call, a reality check that words and assurances mean little nowadays.

Honestly, I am bitter and angry. Which is kinda normal when one has been lied to, no?

What made me go off was probably that video someone posted earlier, seeing him celebrate his goals, and then the "OK to blues" headline made me snap.

And you guys will know that I seldom do sad.gif

Melodramatic I might sound, but I can tell you part of me died inside that day - the dreamer who thought that it would be impossible to be betrayed by one who so has so brazenly declared that he was one of us, the thought that someone who we idolize and 'love' so much could discard it all for personal gain. Makes our adulation seem cheap and worthless.

Killed my love for football he did.

Turd. laugh.gif

*
I don't blame certain certain group of reds fan to still feel sour over the whole Torres saga early this year.

Yes, he has been an excellent player for us. He helped us beat Man Utd and Chelsea (remember his debut strike in front of the Kop?) a couple of times past few seasons.

Yes, he has made LFC 50million richer. And we went on to top up a few more to get Carrol and Suarez (which has been the deal of the season IMO)

It's not that us Liverpool supporters does not appreciate what he's done for us. It's just how the whole situation was being handled by the player himself. The sulking. The transfer request on last few days of the transfer window. How he handle the interview pre and post transfer. Remember the quote "I'm in the best team" when he's at Chelsea? Fans are not stupid and know exactly what that means.

I respect him as an excellent football player. One of the liverpool best no 9 in recent times.
But as a person, ..not really.

BTW this may be off topic but I can't help but wonder why some refer you as TS? Curious mind..

Anyway, I use to be a HUGE Torres fan even when he was still at Athletici Madrid. I watch him played a few games for Spain then. The youngest captain in AM history. Strong personality. Fantastic football player. But the January transfer saga is just too hurtful to his image from a Liverpool fans perspective.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ May 11 2011, 11:23 AM)

Doesn't matter that the fans are pissed, you still respect the club, especially the club you were born into.

yes..as a chelsea fans..yes what torres said about us is a good points..hehehe..but i dont like the attitude to hit back at the former club after transfer...I still remember most of our former players usually respect the club..xcept so far Mr Gallas..hehehe... notworthy.gif even short term Arjen Robben have a close relationship with the Stamford Bridge...

Liverpool not a alien club for me..cuz my dad is a Liverpool fan...the only 2 game I cant watch every season at home..Chelsea vs Liverpool and Liverpool vs Chelsea...his favourite still Ian Rush....

why not?the more competition we're in, the more chances for the players to keep their fitness level at their optimum, and the more chances for our youth to get involve in first team action. remember a few weeks ago that suarez has said that he might not be at his best this season due to the limited playing time available, thus minimal time to build the team chemistry and maintain his fitness level. it's normal for top players to play 3 games in every 2 weeks, in fact that would be better for their sharpness on the field. smile.gif

Actually, this topic was discussed on an episode of "Football Today". Whether it's better to play in the Europa League or not at all, concentrating purely on the league. If you ask me, any trophy is a trophy. Reminds me of when the mancs teased us for winning the "Mickey Mouse Treble", but yet celebrated like they won the Champions League when they won the Worthington Cup the next season. Bottom line, you only ridicule it when anyone but you wins it.

In the end, playing in Europe at any level generates revenue. Yes, you run the risk of injury but you also have the option of playing your reserves like Hodgson did. I think it's beneficial to play in it.

But no money almost 99% no success.

why not europa???

The revenue.

winner of Europa walk away max €6.06mil. CL winner get over €30mil. tat is 5x more. also by the time u hit quater final, u get the same amount of money vs u winning europa. The year we won the CL, our exploit winning got us over 100mil pound vs less than 10mil when we won Uefa cup. (I read this before but i can't find the reference now).

These days the survival of football club is not about playing sexy football or winning trophy but how much you make. its reality. Our matchday revenue is less than half what ManU make. Up until recent years, our commercial exploit have been under performing. bottom line is to strengthen the squad we either groom or buy. Groom will take time, buy we need money. heck... even grooming we need money to build facilities and feed the young one until they make it to the first squad.

I'm all for winning trophy. FA or League cup or Europa or CL or Premier League or world club or Intertoto (god forbid) or Asia Trophy or whateva-any-sponsor-can-think-of trophy but i'ld rather see the club grow. Newcastle and Leed are two good example. Newcastle would rather loose 10-9 than win 1-0. Leed gamble their future to buy star players. Both club suffer worst when result turn bad.

I would prefer we stay in premier league and make sure we finish top 3 (4th if its a bad season) and sweat it out in CL. Risking injury for €6.06mil???? Given ManC will pay for success, top 4 is tougher now than ever. If we keep sitting out CL and play in Europa, we will have problem attracting good player too.

Now, that's why not Europa.

While i agree with ur points, you really shouldnt be speaking like that to a fellow fan.

It will only cause disunity among fans. Its best that u and others ignore personal attack as they will end up feeling idiotic at the end of the day(i know blush.gif )

Whether they are knowledgeable or true fans, who cares. As long they bring revenue to the club.

no one mention about johnson double assist and one on the line clearence... i can see a smile in every Liverpool player now. Confidence is growing high. As for Ueropa League, i would agree with Suarez, like he said if we are in UCL we need to aim to win it, if we're in Europa League we still must aim to win it.. every trophy is equally important and that's what a club like Liverpool must aiming for... winning.

Liverpool owners jet in to appoint Dalglish

Liverpool's owners will fly into Merseyside before the weekend to finalise Kenny Dalglish's coronation as the permanent boss of the club.

Chairman Tom Werner and principal owner John Henry are hope to announce the deal before Sunday's vital showdown with Spurs.

There are now only a few details to wrap up, as talks have progressed with caretaker manager Dalglish since April.

The two Americans will complete the deal themselves when they jet in to watch the crucial Premier League game.

Liverpool know victory will confirm a near-miraculous place in next season's Europa League, and the incredible job that King Kenny has done since returning to his beloved club on a tide of emotion back in January.

The owners realise nothing would lift the fans and the players before the game more than an announcement that Dalglish is to be the next permanent manager of Liverpool.

The length of the manager's tenure and the nature of his relationship with Director of Football Damien Comolli are still to be clearly defined, but Dalglish has always maintained he is happy to serve the club in any way possible, so that is seen as a formality.

For their part, Henry and Werner have nothing but admiration for the job the Anfield legend has done since he took over a side that was struggling just above the relegation zone, and transformed them into the form team in the division.

Even a fortnight ago, no one gave Liverpool a chance of snatching fifth spot and a place in Europe, but now they are strong favourites to deny Tottenham that position, and the owners are grateful to Dalglish for the job he has done.

Ideally, they would like to turn Sunday's game into a carnival occasion, with the new permanent manager lauded by the fans.

There is still time for that to happen if they can conclude talks by the end of the week, but if the clock beats them it will certainly be confirmed before the final weekend of the season.

wonder how are they gonna sort out the transfer thingy? dalglish to compromise?
also, how long he would be offered to serve in the club, iirc previous rumor regarding dalglsih asked for a lengthy contract while owner oni prefer to give one year contract oni (after the lesson of compensation made for terminating rafa n woy's contract) hmm.gif

Poster is good...printed on good paper quality (similar to The Edge newspaper's quality), and its sure big! 8 times the size of The S....

Wait a sec, is that newspaper banned in Liverpool? Irony isn't it?

Yea, I believe so it is. To gain support from the Liverpool fans again. Not getting it. I'd rather read China Press or NST. At least they don't report too much bullshit.

I do not think that The Sun here is related to The Sun tabloid in the UK.
It's just an unfortunate name similarity iinm.

yup, The Sun in Malaysia doesn't has any relationship with The S/h/un tabloid in UK. don't punish the innocent Malaysia's The Sun just because it has the same name as UK's The S/h/un.. sweat.gif

p.s. have to asked my friend to get a copy for me, can't wait to take the poster from him next month~ thumbup.gif

maybe Dalglish could work something out with comolli. hopefully it won't be an issue that can't be solved.

the owner could offer him like a 5 years contract and see how it goes.

Phew, luckily it's not related. I salute Std Chartered, they sure spend a lot of effort promoting Liverpool and all.

I may want to open a Std Chartered account to join the contest to get VIP tickets, Exclusive cocktail event to meet the LFC team and Meet & Greet passes to the training ground when they come over. biggrin.gif

The SUN in Malaysia is different from The S*N in UK.

Wikipedia sources are not always correct, but you guys can have a look.

The Sun has a circulation of 300k daily.. Liverpool Malaysia's fan base could be more than a million. so, this is definitely a hot thing at the moment. I personally took 4 and gave to my brother and Liverpool fan frens. still got one with me..

There are numerous rumors about adam johnson being forced out @ man city. their loss, our gain?

Also, to be fair to Woy, he was indeed doing his best - 16 points out of 10 games for West Brom is about similar to how we fared under him, no?

Blame the management who appointed him, and the media who hailed him as the best thing since sliced bread!

Woke up this morning with all that tweets and buzzes in my BlackBerry in some god forsaken island. Best news ever.

I still remember the naysayers from within our ranks, as well as those outside of the club claiming we will still fail under Kenneth Matthewson Dalglish.

He single handedly proved everyone wrong after the 1st match despite losing to Manchester United 1-0.

Long live the King. Long live the glory for the days down the Anfield Road. Long live and prosper to the true mighty Reds.

I don't think even Kenny knows. Despite having a less than impressive 2nd season at the club, they did beat Barca and they did make the FA Cup Final. The season before, they finished 2nd and then 13th the next. I guess this is why. Can't recall the exact circumstances of that season though. Kenny was sacked the following season just two games in, having got two draws. He was replaced by Ruud Gullit, a more "fancy" name I suppose.

I'm sure with the appointment of King Kenny, Anfield will give an outstanding atmosphere. The boys will also be boosted by this news and will go all out on tottenham. It's looking good and optimistic here.

7th heaven but Luis Suarez not the new Kevin Keegan for Liverpool FC

http://www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/chester-...59067-28686763/

Part of the full article:

QUOTE
“Suarez has done better so far than I thought he would, and quicker than I thought,” says Keegan, now lead analyst for ESPN’s football coverage. “He has been very good, and settled very quickly.

“The comparison with myself comes up a lot, but I think he’s a different player to me. I can’t see him getting a lot of headed goals, as I did, for example, but I can see him scoring more spectacular goals than I did.

“He uses space differently to me. I would see the touchline as my enemy, he sees it as his friend. So he’s very different to me.

“Sure you can compare myself and Toshy to Suarez and Carroll, because one is a good header of the ball and the other is a bit nippy, but there is a bit of a difference.

“I think Liverpool paid £110,000 for Toshy (from Cardiff City) and they paid £35,000 for me, so it is a bit different. And I didn’t come from Ajax, or from another big Premier League club. I came from Scunthorpe. I hadn’t been near an England set-up when I arrived at Liverpool in 1971, and I wouldn’t do so for another year afterwards.

“Suarez has played in the World Cup and the Champions League, so he is coming in as an established player. When I arrived, nobody knew me. I couldn’t even get into the game for my first match at Anfield, the security guard didn’t believe me when I said I was playing!”

Though late,

Just wishing The King , all the best for the coming season. Hope he gets the right support from the board and brings in the right players. He has proven in the past 5 months and last 12 games with massive 33 points out of possible 36 points , what a massive achievement.

Of course , the correct way we need to go about things is , we should enjoy these good results but lets not get carried away, still lots of players to go and lots of money to be spent.

Im not sure if Suarez and Carroll were Kennys choices , so lets see what he can do in the summer, i trust his judgements, really looking forward to next season now. Gotta beat the boys!

The way were playing now reminds me of the season Rafa took us so close, lots of big 4, 5's being scored every odd game. I think getting rid of Fernando helped morale as well as he was constantly sulking around the 18 yrd box not making any effort at all unless it fell to his feet.

Tell me about it, its never a better feeling than lifting the 5th European title.

On the other note,

If the score remains at Ewood Park at full time, Blackpool need the magic to stay on top flight if the match against bolton goes otherwise. Interesting, what i have predicted earlier this week its about to come true..

Carrol signed a new deal 3 months before he joined us. So I guess anything is possible. What amazed me now is that we have enough striker upfront and do we need more? Kuyt has been lethal, then we have Kuyt and Carrol. Perhaps we need one young backup striker if we are to let N'Gog leave but to buy an established striker like Hulk is too much of a luxury when we need pacy wingers most.

if Scott Parker sign for Liverpool, Gerrard will have a stiff competition. with Gerrard no longer command an automatic place in the team due to his long lay off, Parker might nailed down the CM as his own.

I smell the trolls incoming.. lol

anyway, i love the fact that Kenny is making so much impact on every single angle that he is involved in. Owners, staff, players and definitely the fans.

although this season we see a club surpassing us (which they should, they have been dominant) after chasing our record for over 2 decades, it has always been LFC not being able to answer to the dominance of our rivals.

but with Kenny, omg, the sense of belief is so strong even the rival fans can find no wrong in him, acknowledging him with respect, fear and definitely a sense of foreboding that when someone like Kenny is at the helm, the team can do no wrong.

its 2 more games till end of the season and from relegation possibility to a very high chance in a europa spot, its getting really really exciting for LFC fans everywhere smile.gif

it's been an enjoyable season filled with both dissapointment att he start but with such elation at the end.. YNWA!!!

Tottenham spurned chance to sign Liverpool star in January

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to sign Luis Suarez prior to his move to Liverpool in January.

The Uruguay international moved to Anfield from Dutch giants Ajax for a fee in the region of £23m and has settled into life quickly on Merseyside. He has already netted four time in just 11 Premier League appearances but he was also been the architect of the 3-1 victory over Manchester United and put in a man of the match performance in his last outing, the 5-2 win at Fulham.

And now, on the eve of the Reds' clash with Tottenham that will go a long way to determining who will finish in fifth spot, the Spurs boss has admitted that his scouting staff did not think he would make the grade as a striker in English Football when they considered signing the player in the last transfer window.

"We kept looking at [Suárez] but people thought he couldn't play up as a striker," said Redknapp.

"They said he's like Rafa [van der Vaart] and you can't have him and Rafa or you'd have two players who want to drop deep, so that was the problem. We were looking for someone to play up front with Rafa.

“People said he couldn't do that, he drifts and comes deep. But he played up front on his own the other night and he was fantastic."

How Redknapp must be ruing the missed opportunity. In the intervening four months, Spurs have struggled for goals from their forwards, a situation that was particularly evident in their midweek defeat at Manchester City in which the Londoners dominated proceedings but lacked the knock-out punch.

Liverpool eye Taarabt-Cole swap deal

Liverpool are planning a move for QPR star Adel Taarabt, and are willing to offer Joe Cole in a cash-plus-player exchange deal, according to reports in the Metro.

Taarabt, 21, has been a major factor in the promotion chase for Neil Warnock's side, since his £700,000 move from Tottenham, and has 19 goals in 44 league appearances this season, helping QPR to the Championship title.

His performances have attracted interest from Premier League clubs, and Reds manager Kenny Dalglish is thought to be looking for another player similar to Ashley Young, with a view to developing the player for the long-term, and the Moroccon international fits these criteria.

Liverpool are also keen to offload last seasons Summer signing Joe Cole, who has failed to establish himself at the club. Cole is thought to favour a move to London, however an arrangement involving Liverpool paying a share of the players' wages is likely to be necessary due to his current £90,000 weekly earnings.

300M just to win FA CUP? That's a failure..

Just came back from Souled Out where (what it appears to be) the local chapter of the MCFC supporters were gathering to watch the Finals - all 10 of them biggrin.gif . Can't fault their spirit though despite a pretty unexcitable game. Congrats, lads, well done.

So MU are with 19 now. Credits to them. But I still love Liverpool as much as I did before and I don't feel like we're in 2nd place. We will give our best the next year and hopefully challenge for the title.

I always say this to my Mancs mate, "you never beaten us twice in the league" game to win the title. That's relief, i'm happy that we had torn them apart at Anfield, if Berbatov can do the hat-trick, so do Kuyt. I still remember the childish reaction from Nani after being challenged by Carragher.

That's aside,

The best team wins the reward, we hadn't been the best whole season, certainly have not lost our pride, we are still ( "the most successive English club in Europe ! Eat that !" ); we still compete for the best finish in top flight this season. 5th would compensate the hard work in the last 5 months or so. With Kenny on the card for us , for the next 3 seasons, i could see that he's gonna look after the area's to improve and bring in more stability players instead for the fame.

It's now or never for us in the coming season, certainly there's gonna be loads of smiles around the Anfield Road, certainly not for the new signings and stuff, but to see us playing more like a team and challenge in top flight, and we were ; in the past 16 games, never looked like a 2 man team, claimed by the experts and media and rival fans. We have the greatest opportunity to catch up with what we left behind and , coming season is the one to look for. Its rather come soon

All the rants, humiliations , unethical comments are just from the wanna be fans routine. A true fan will accept the reward of his team with due respect and exceptional joy.

19th isn't about winning, 19th isn't about success, 19th isn't about the best team in the land. Just got lucky..

Harry Redknapp is a joker. Almost every good signing he'll say "hey we scouted him before but we didn't want him."

pretty much a re-cycling formula for news, if you ask me.
