The King Kenny factor again eh? In just a short time, he's transformed a side over reliant on it's skipper and star striker into a side that realies on one another. Would anyone have put money on players like Mereiles, Kuyt, Spearing, and Maxi stepping up to the plate in the absence of our maligned captain to support our "star" strikers? This is what Rafa intended to achieve but never really did. Back then his start forward was Mista but the goals came from everywhere. Seems like King Kenny has completed what he started.

Were we piss poor not solely because of Woy but also Torres?
Food for thought eh, unfair to blame Woy alone? The only team to do better than us in the second half of the season was Chelsea though, despite our ex striker being absolutely dismal at times for them. This post has been edited by madmoz: May 10 2011, 11:54 AM |

QUOTE(madmoz @ May 10 2011, 11:48 AM) Were we piss poor not solely because of Woy but also Torres? Is what happens when you centre your play around just one player isn't it? Houllier relied heavily on Owen's pace and we were ultimately found out. If you look at Dalglish, everyone contributes and in the absence of Gerrard, not any one players stands above the rest.Food for thought eh, unfair to blame Woy alone? |

just for the fun of it. currently, manc at 62pts (21 goal difference), lpool at 58pts (18gd) and spurs at 56pts (7gd). both manc and spurs got another 3 games with one of the game they face each other, and lpool got 2 games left with one facing spurs. the only way that i figure we can get 4th is:
1. we win both of our remaining games (vs spurs and villa) 2. manc lost to spurs and draw both of their other game (vs stoke and bolton) - if they got more than 2 points, its over for lpool. 3. spurs lost to lpool, win against manc, and do whatever they want to birmingham if the scenario above happens, lpool will have 64pts, level with manc. if manc lost by 1 goal to spurs, and lpool won by 1 goal against spurs and villa, the goal different also will be the same, but lpool will be 4th with more goal scored. if manc win one game, they will get 4th. spurs need to win big in all of their remaining 3 games (5-0, 6-0 etc) to get 4th since their gd is lowest, hoping manc only get only 3 points or less in 3 games. so, spurs vs manc tomorrow morning is the most important game to all 3 teams. |

4th is out of reach imo. Mathematically possible but reality tells otherwise

Yes, Kenny is the right man to materialized what Rafa started and take the club forward. Its not a surprise we didn't struggle to score in a game without gerrard and torres anymore. and for Kuyt to consistently scoring even with the stick that he received from fans for years. Kenny done wonders! FSG is mad not to sign him for permanent deal.btw, 4th is possibility but very2 slim chances. 5th is good enough considering the position we are in early in the season. |

what a game last night.........apart from that 2 spectacular goals from fulham.
i guess we were playing total football.......again suarez was the playmaker........ what a through ball from shelvey, kuyt with the dummy and suarez putting it in the net. almost trademark gerrard/xabi style pass......... if you told me at the start of the season maxi would have 10 premier league goals...........i'd laugh at you |
