If you're choosing between A series and the N series, think of brushed metal finish or gloss finish? biggrin.gif
Also, leaked roadmap is here

I'm looking for a new laptop to replace a netbook for my mother since screen size is to small. Usual usage are web browsing and editing office documents

1. Brand.
preferably:-
- apple: my sister has one
- dell: her current netbook
- asus: I had one
- or other reputable brand

2. Budget.
<rm4000

3. Specs.
important one:-
- ssd is a big bonus
- lightweight
- long battery life
- GPU & cpu are not so important.
- if possible, good linux compatibility so that I can install Ubuntu.

4. Size
13" or 15"

Seems like macbook pro and MBA are very nice offerings. But I'd like to know of a windows equivalent/competitor to apple's. I can google for ubuntu compatibility but I'd like to know which models are the best now.

Thanks!

^ Samsung 9 series nod.gif
Other than that is maybe just Lenovo's X1

Also, for Macs you'll have to VM Ubuntu in, can't Bootcamp Ubuntu there =\
New MBAs are coming June or July too nod.gif

MBA would probably be the best option if you want SSD, but then you could always upgrade yourself in the future laugh.gif

Both are brushed metal finish then sweat.gif
I'd say go for whichever size you want, no one can force you to get one specific size

Yeah, performance differences in terms of processing power is significant, where the Acer is better than both Asus models nod.gif
As for GPU, they all have Nvidia GT540m~

Yep, it can.
And the misconception mostly happens when people says GPU is the main thing for Photoshop.
The truth is that OpenGL is just something that uses your GPU as an assistant for your CPU.
CPU is the one doing all the magic there
