If need to buy in a hurry, then there's only the Asus A43Sv i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M (1GB)@RM2399
If you ask me, I would recommend saving more money, to go for the better N43SL, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2599[Bang & Olufsen] instead

A43E, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1699, FreeDOS

Hope sifu here can help me answer some questions. I am offered a price of RM 1580 is it the best buy for this price? Also, this laptop would be powerful enough for ms word, powerpoint, some videos and light photoshop-ing? Also, hows the expected battery life?

Finally, is this model with the black plastic or silver aluminium? Heard different people say different things.

I can say that price is nice, and yes it will suit your usage
It can last about 4 hours and more
Don't know about the colour but I think A series are only in black.

Also, if you're getting that model, have a look at the Lenovo G470 i3 version
