i oso almost gave up bf within just 1-2 weeks of giving birth... my mil kept saying i dun have enuf milk that bb keeps crying every hr or 2... so the 3rd day she bought formula... fed the baby n said c... if u have enuf milk then bb should sleep well for hrs... then i already felt disappointed n discourage... even told hb that i wanna give up... but look at me now... still bf at 6 mths n still going to... hopefully i dun get anymore interruption...

Hi NicKit, i totally agreed with you. I m having a same problem with u now. My baby is 1month+ now and my husband want to send my baby to my mother in law there day and night, i go to my in law house every morning till at night only i go back myself. sad.gif i want to bf her but at my in law house there not convenient for me to breastfed, i pump out the milk and bottle fee her. i found that now she dont want to latch my breast it maybe she use to have bottle feed. I wish i can supply my milk for her up to 6months but my milk is not enough for her to drink.

If i just keep pumping without direct feeding or feed one time a day my milk will not simulating more although i pump every 3hours ? Now i have around 200ml milk per day when i pump out. it is not enough.... help .. i m pressure n depression now.

have you tried drinking fenugreek or fennel seeds? try it..as I used to do it when i was fully bf. drink lots of water and eat healthily.

It's best to direct bf..but sometimes..like in your situation, it doesn't apply..but i'm sure there are moms who solely pump..but you got to work harder to stimulate.

Stress and depression won't help in your supply as these are the main contributors to less milk. It's easier said than done..but all of us have gone through a similar road..and thus we advise all mommies to relax and not to be stressed.

evelynteh, is there any room for u to bf? ask if u can just borrow the room just for bf... when i go to my hb's aunty's house, she lent me her bedroom so i can bf... if u have a room then u can direct bf lo... or do a power bf (i think the term is correct)... u'll b half naked n baby's naked... n do some bonding n latching on... something like that... some mummies that pump exclusively on weekday n get a power bf on weekend to maintain their supply... can anyone correct me?

don't worry much, you are not alone.

I don't latch on ever since my baby rejected my boobs (tried many times since birth but she goes vmad.gif whenever I tried to place her near my boobs - got six sense.. lol ).So I pump exclusively since week 2 after birth and now I can say my supply is abit too much for her to finish blush.gif since she only take 3 oz per feed every 2 hours and I have about 40-50oz per day. Well, hard work does pays off I'd say.

For me, I don't really take the fenugreek seeds (although I did tried) because every time I had those, I got engorgement and swelling sleep.gif even though I pump very frequently. Like others said, eat and don't skip meals. Sleep and rest well if you can and drink lots of water. I'm sure you'll be able to achieve more milk than you ever need. wink.gif I believed everyone's journey is not easy but it does pays off well if you have the patience and dedication. wink.gif
