Edifier S730 Extended Bass Test HD

Superb setup of a dedicated music producer using the Edifier S2000 Studio Monitor Speakers!

At Edifier, we love all creative professionals for being who they are - good at making great music.

Edifier Studio 8 - R2800

The Studio 8, by Edifier is not for the faint of heart. This professional high end 2.0 speaker system produces an extraordinary power output of 140watts RMS. With two 8 inch super bass drivers combined with a pair of calibrated bass reflex ports, producing a total of 72watts RMS of deep bass notes. A pair of 4 inch mid range drivers and 19mm tweeters compliments the heavy bass with 68watts RMS of mid range and treble output. This colossal system can be connected to your audio source of choice using the optical, coaxial, PC or auxiliary input options that can be interchanged using the input selection button on the side panel of the speaker or the wireless remote control. The wireless remote control can also adjust the volume and mute the system, while bass and treble adjustments can be tuned using the controls which are located on the side of the speaker. I using 530d. Would say the sound is awesome. My speaker already 5 years old.
Although the fuse died on me not long. Took me a while to look for the fuse in jalan pasar.
You dont need very good sound card for this speaker.
For gaming , if you are those who like 3D immense surround. I would suggest 5.1.
2.1 kind of giving you a floating feeling.

5.1 i think currently only S550. But it doesnt have optical input. This might run a hole in ur pocket.
2.1 S530D. Good thing it has optical input.
If you are looking to S730.. with that price, i think you can most probably afford S760 which someone had mentioned in the process of testing.

guys, would like to ask for suggestion

I'm getting the R2700 soon, but was thinking to pair it with a USB soundcard or DAC due to i was using laptop as my main system. I guess the on board realtek sound card will not perform the studio speaker to its best performance.

what i have in mind was the Asus Xonar U3 but few guys advise me is better to get DAC instead.

This set up will be use in my study room. Room size around 10ft X 12ft
Speaker will be position beside my monitor which located at the centre of the room.

Usage mostly for movies & music. Can say 50-50

Any advise from the Pro here??

If you're in tight budget, I would suggest you try out Creative Sound Blaster Digital Music Premium HD, very good sound card.
If you have lot more budget, there will be a lot more choices.

If not mistaken, Malaysia is the first country to get the R2800 stock, that why you can't find any reviews in the website yet.
I try the R2800 before, if you like vocal type of song, R2800 will be your first choice.
