Guys, is it ok to connect built-in soundcard by using optical cable?
wads the difference after change to individual soundcard like Asus/Creative brand?

if you're gonna use optical then you're gonna use the built in soundcard inside your S530D
so no matter how great or how lame your soundcard is... it's not gonna change

if you want awesome sound... go for good soundcard with analog input
cuz that's the way you get changes

@power911, did you turn off the speaker when you are not using? or just let it on ?

of course I'll switch it off as much as possible. didn't want it to die so quickly before my old age arrives

will switch off when:
-my computer is off (obviously lol)
-wanted to leave house (just let the computer run)
-while working something on computer for hours (like reading,editing stuff,...etc)
-midnight online sessions (I'll be using headphones)

but of course sometimes I go lazy and let it be on whole day... brings worries to me but meh~ knowing that it won't die so easily so yea >.<

what you have on your previous S730D is exactly the same as the S530D... just with smaller woofer

but got input 2 for extras like AUX

which model got mic input eh.. DA5000Pro got?

I bought the Edifier MF240.

But disappointed it does not have any in built alarm ring sound.

Currently looking for a speaker to use in small hall. Initially was aim for C3 or S530D but just remmbered that i need a mic input on speaker also. Budget RM800, must hve ir remote and mic input and prefer 2.1 huhu. Any model on ur mind?

Bought the Edifier S530D with Asus Xonar Essense STX. First day without burning in already can tell a big difference compared to my old Logitech X-540. Almost no distortion at high volume and everything is clear. No regrets at all. After burned-in probably even better!

Ofcoz after burn-in the sound feel much2 better

can try Edifier C5 aux in for mic gua... not sure if powerful enough to drive your mic or not
if not then go cheap la... no need to be that expensive
