Wrong thread. Anyway, cheap scape and audiophile doesn't go hand-in-hand.

I owned a Alteq Lansing V4121 and I really like it.

But now the speaker already rosak and want to get back V2141 but i think it already obsolete.

Anyone can recommend me any ideal or equivalent speaker to substitute it?

Thanks for all the suggestion... notworthy.gif
But for 2.1 sound system, is it enough to deliver acceptable surround sound for watching movies...
Because I thought I need 5.1 sound system for movies..

Sorry for the additional noob question...
Cause I'm really noob in this area... sweat.gif

hi guys,

i'm planning to get a 2.1 speaker for my pc. currently i'm using SonicGear Evo8 and music doesn't feel alive with it anymore. my budget is rm250. can anyone recommend me a speaker that can punch a solid bass that can make me feel my chest is trembling. rclxm9.gif and nice clarity when listening to vocal.

usage: listening to music. and also gaming.

my cousin is using VS2421 and i like the bass very much rclxms.gif

If you desired a 5.1 speaker system, then it will be wise to recommend you an Edifier R501 MkII. Not sure if you can plug it directly to your TV, maybe you need an external 5.1 card. Wait for Nismo91 or power911 to verify it haha tongue.gif

You like VS2421's bass means you like boomy bass. And yeah, felt even nicer when it comes to gaming. I'll recommend you an Edifier M3400, not that boomy but much cleaner bass and still solid. Test it before choosing your purchase see if it suits you notworthy.gif

On the other hand, try to find 2nd hand Edifier S330.. highly recommend it if you found 1 nod.gif

not all movies will provide you surround sound...
and for cheap price I don't think it could even support any dolby digital surround thingy...

plus it's a hassle to connect full 5.1 surround speakers as you'll get messy wires and ended up placing everything in front (like what most average people nowadays do XD)

2.1 should be enough to fill a small bedroom
go for Edifier C3 for better mids as the S330D midrange kinda sucked for far range listening,

or go for edifier R501 mkii and keep the excess speakers.(or plug into line in input) you need an RCA to 3.5mm cable tho since it doesn't support digital

RM400 can only get you Edifier R501, which only supports 5.1 through analog. if you're planning to connect speakers to TV or media player or PS3, it would not give you surround sound cause most of these devices only support 5.1 through digital signal - pcm, dolby, or dts.

for small room such as 2.5m x 3.5m, no need big subwoofer. 6.5" - 8" is sufficient, depending on the subwoofer efficiency.

also check your movies. see if they are in 5.1 format. some movies only provide stereo (2.0) sound. if most of your movies are in stereo then you might want to consider getting just 2.1 speaker. save alot of trouble

Thanks for all the suggestion guys... really appreciated it... notworthy.gif
From all the advice..
I can conclude that 2.1 system is good enough for me... because of the room constraint.

So currently I'm thinking to buy 1 centre speaker and 2 side speaker around RM200 - 300
And connect it to my old (inherit from my farther laugh.gif ) Kenwood amp...
I think I can live without sub-woofer now... maybe add it in the future.. sweat.gif

Thanks again... thumbup.gif

You've just said 2.1 is good enough, so may I ask why you're going for 3.1? (Left, Right, Center n Sub)? sweat.gif

Here's my 2 cents: Use all those money on a decent pair of 2nd hand bookshelf speakers. smile.gif
