My Rig: PC as shown in my signature, no soundcard - Type of usage: for music listening and watching dramas/movies - File format: iTunes AAC 256kbps - Music genre: Pop - Budget: RM250-300 (can be less XD) - Headphone/ earphone type: Headphone - Other requirements (if any): I am not sure which type of headphone is most recommended in Indoor area. But I want it to be comfortable as I will be wearing it a lot at home. I don't need noise cancelling feature.
FYI, I am currently using SoundMagic PL21 IEM earphones, but I don't like to wear it for a long period of time, feel kinda uncomfortable. I also hate that I am isolated to any sound in the surrounding area. Thanks!

Dear Audiophiles,
I'm going slightly insane. For the past few weeks, I've been reading up multiple reviews on head-fi and inearmatters to try and figure out what IEMs I should get.
Here's what's important to me:
1. durability. durability. durability. (I'm heavily in the gym, plus I run on the beach.) 2. sound quality. (I'm running a Sansa Clip+ rockboxed and I like my detailed sound, nothing overwhelmingly bassy. Mostly detailed electronic music, acoustic recordings and Lossless ONLY.) 3. budget. (I'm pretty flexible. Anything from RM150 - RM300.
I've looked at the following:
Senn. CX300-II Soundmagic PL-50 Meelectronics A151 Fischer Audio Eterna V2
I'm drawn to the SM and the ME for the balanced armature and awesome reviews, but i've been told that the build quality is nothing like the CX300.
My head is going to melt if I read another review. What are your thoughts? Any suggestions?

Senn CX300-II is quite bassy like every beat you cant hear the boom boom boom. Its like the home speakers today which has a lot of bass. But it detects instruments well. Like if you listen to classical music the bass actually went away surprisingly. But when you listen to techno it gives great bass.

Either you move on to active noise cancellation which is far beyond your budget or something in between, in-earphones.

My Rig: iPhone, iPad Type of usage: Casual, on-the-go File format: FLAC, hi-bitrate MP3 Music genre: All kind from jazz, r&b, pop, world, etc. Budget: < RM200 Headphone/ earphone type: Headphone, semi-open Other requirements (if any): decent quality and design I have been eyeing on Audio-Technica's ATH-SJ11 and I am still surveying for something similar to this. Is it a good buy? I don't need the best, I just need something that gives me a decent nice music to my humble ears.. This post has been edited by boringpig: Jul 26 2011, 10:51 AM

The award winning AKG K420 is semi-open.
