You are not on 1G network yet, cause missing the router. I'm on 1G network (1G lan, cat6 cable and 1G router), but HD600A can't run on 1G network yet even though the hardware is ready to. I get 45 to 90+MBps streaming movie from my PC, before my router upgrade I get 23 to 53+MBps which is sufficient. Running 1080p movies (tried 14 to 26GB file) is not a problem, unless it's one of those odd movies that have problem (even on other players). Wifi is the only thing I'm not really happy with HD600A, but I rarely use that.

@numbertwo, my sony nx710 3D LED TV also needs a hardware to upgrade the firmware^^; Even electronics giant aren't setting the firmware upgarde standard yet^^;

Try to use the "forced" upgrade (meaning reset button) when upgrading HD600A, it's often recommended. Reason is these are internal distributed official firmware (meaning it's for internal testing).

If you have M2TS files, please check them too.
If you will testing hight bitrate movies like m2ts or bd .iso, would be better if you connect your laptop and router via ethernet cable.

Mayby you download some sample m2ts and tested ?

So 1080p Movies play smoothly and not stuttering ?

It really doesn't matter what brand is an oem or made from other factories as other brands. N*ke doesn't really have a factory, but we all love the brand. It's also the support and recognition from the brand most consumer are after.

I read somewhere about MyGica new players not selling as well as the R5, China consumer are looking beyond prices. As brands gets established, prices almost similar, people just goes for better brands.^^

I've lost hope on getting firmware upgrade from TV manufacturer, LG and Philips are not good in that..both the LEDs that I bot haven't got any fw upgrade so far... hence I lost hope on the capability of TV playing media files and decided to go for a standalone media player...

ohh..btw..both Upnp and Network options found my media files in my laptop... I hopeful that NAS will do as well...coz I'm planning to get a NAS soon!

Sony is pretty ok, there's 2 firmwares out so far. But it only plays simple movies format and codecs >.<

HD600 should work with NAS, at least I think they'll try slove the problem if it can't^^

There's a guy over in HWZ SG forum who was getting pissed with the HD600A he bought. 3 problems for him, slow wifi, can't detect his 2tb hdd via sata and one of his hdds has conflict with the wifi. A few days later 2.2 came out, it fixed the 2TB HDD issue, then 2 days later he updated 2.3 it fixed his wifi/hdd problem. He seems pleased now^^ At least can have hope HiMedia support will fix the problem.

For my case it's the MK250 issue which is fixed (waited for 2+weeks)^^ Now left the unlisted youtube vid problem, I really hope they'll fix. Maplestage makes viewing those TW shows so much easier, but it needs youtube.

yes..i noticed they resolved those critical issues quite quickly!

my wireless mouse M215 is working..so..m going to get a keyboard+mouse combo soon..mk250 or greater maybe..

Youtube, PPS , they should get this resolved asap...although i don't use them much but others are comparing these feature with other brands...So Himedia should really resolve these issues..

Also, the internet explorer is running a bit that slow compare with my laptop (ie. loading pages...)..maybe something that could work on too....

PPS currently is no way can watch here de, they block Malaysia IP coz they nid protect ENT brand... but u still can use PPTV, almost same like PPS (but really can last how long no one can say ), others like Voole, QQ Live, Youku, Qiyi.... mostly now is working de..

Youtube i test other few brands same de....

By the way for himedia online, mostly channel inside is working de...not like HDPfans, got many many link, but 50% cant play de..waste time to test...

1 laptop can play PPS
2 HD600A cannot
Both connects to same router, same ISP.

I believe media player port/server is different from those connecting from PC.

beside ENT . got one is call asiabox. that one use pps if not mistaken.

asiabox is use PP live de.. but almost same thing de..hehe

Those online are free bonus added.

Pudong, V.S.T channel stable now.

Every brand can modify add this ^^

himedia ims works as well or better than VST (which I consider one of the better one).

yes every brand can add in IMS, but it'll be at own risk.

i don't think u'll be happy if someone made a mod firmware and end up making majority of ur customers returning their players. but then it may make u happy cause the warranty could be up since it's short enough

With that said one of Himedia diy firmware is the best I seen so far in any China realtek players.

Can play youtube, except for some vids especially unlisted ones (e.g. those linked from maplestage). I think it could be some flv cannot be played correctly. Ya future firmware should be able to fix that. So still waiting lol

Can anyone 600a/b owner take a foto how look like subtitles ?
Because I watch in youtube presentation, and gap between subtitles seems to big.
There is an option to change it in menu firmware ?

there's an imprivement for subtitle in current firmware You can adjust the timing, size, color of the subtitle. But it'll be best you go and have a look at the real thing, cos what's ok for me may not be for u^^
