someone here did a sharpness test for that lens, comparing with and without filter.
the filter used was a Hoya HD iinm.

Maybe you wanna try going filterless? tongue.gif
Mine is naked.

70-200vr2 is the heaviest of all version, but it feels lighter than the 80-200 due to better distributed weight  thumbup.gif
I believe that is incorrect. The heaviest is the AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8 at 1550g.

The AF-D 80-200mm f/2.8 is the lightest at 1300g. The AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR I is 1,470g and AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II is 1530g.

I shoot with filter on my 70200 VR2 using Hoya HD. So far not experiencing any sharpness issue. With and without seems similar for me.

Shutter speeds are high but looks to me like camera shake?

Is this VR switched on or off. Try switching it off and shoot.

If you think your method of shooting with VR is incorrect, try and shoot again. The correct method of using VR lenses is that you need to wait for about a second or so after half-pressing the focus button to let the gyro in the VR lens to settle before actually pressing the shutter button fully to take the shot.

well, thom hogan has stated VR should ideally be turned off at 1/500s.
from his thread in photomalaysia...he says hes gone up to 1/1600s and still blur....
also he has posted a pic from last yr that shows it better looking than now...so guess something happened to his lens between then and now.

18-70mm is good for a start. or if u're referring to prime kind of wide, 35mm.

on side note, thanks for the reply bro aldo. i myself find the bit of hut roof and the right bottom corner stone walkway quite distracting too.

check inside the lens. my frens has the same issue. his problem was the glass was not properly tight. sothere is a bit free play that disturb the sharpness. btw he is using manual lens

This coming weekend I have a wedding to shoot and only equipped with D7000 kit set. Should I get the SB900 flashgun to cover the day up? I'm still wondering how would the flashgun enhance the photos as many said flashgun will do wonders.

If I'm opt to get the flashgun, any additional accessories I should consider? Beside this coming weekend, next month I will also have some wedding to shoot.

try prime 50mm 1.8/1.4 ?
it should be good for potrait and good for low light (indoors)
