What issue? the noisy fan? how can the bios fix the fan noise? by making it running slower? i hope not. I remember when i use a desktop with GTX 8800. The fan is quite noisy. then i replace it with another fan which i don't remeber the brand. it's not just quieter, but i notice the heat also build up more slowly then before.

Yeah, the latest BIOS update silenced the fan, or sort of just make the fan not changing rotation speed abruptly hehe, and temps were not affected.
Do refer to my previous post in this thread for the link~

Hey bro. The fans are powered externally via AC?

I sorta modded my U3 as well but with an extra single fan. This is cos I tested the single fan and it runs at a noticably much higher RPM than the 3fans connected to 1 usb. This way, I arranged the higher RPM single fan to sit directly below my GPU Intake fan to feed in the cooler air, and the other 3 fans will cool the housing and 1 below the CPU intake fan.

On another note, the massive padding on the ATI 6970M with extra pads courtesy of Kelvin-Hata. The extra pads really helped in cooling the generally hot running card.

Comparisons of the Nvidia GTX 260M(Top right), ATI 5870(Top left) and Ati 6970(Bottom)

i do suggest u change to 2 x 120mm fan instead since the ori fan is not that good... u can buy the adjustable power adapter from any electrical shop to power up the fans with 12V 1.0A... currently on my u3 im using 5 fans, 3 from the U3 and the other 2 from my U2 cooler and its still not cool enuff... hahahaha..
the fan i modded are server rack fans... to me the noise is acceptable to me but dunno la about other people... still looking to add voltage controller so that i can maybe control the fan speed...
once home will show the temp result... hehehe...

You guys still up?

Nyway Im currently trying to limit myself from taking another external supply to see if just the USB power is enough.

@Kelvin: Power issue I narrowed down the solution. Change power plan from PERFORMANCE to POWER-SAVING then back again. Relaunch HWInfo and the clocks back to normal. Just put some tape over the fan gap. Trying out ultra settings to see temperatures... smile.gif
