I wonder, can M14x run 3D vision? not the red/cyan one, but the shutter glass one.

Somebody just advice me that my M14x is a waste of money and i should get an Ipad instead. then he goes on with his preaching about the advantage of ipad over the windows. clearly he's no gamer.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 18 2011, 09:17 AM) Well, you can tell him that nasi lemak is more important than the ipad cause without eating anything, a person will starve to death i7-2630QM 2.00 GHzAnd iPad is not a laptop, and a laptop is not a tablet... no point comparing things that are not of the same category Mind sharing your m14x's specifications? Certain upgrades are not worth getting Added on August 18, 2011, 9:19 am Hard to say leh... a CPU upgrade might be useful for your case as well since the previous Arrandale processors are not clocked that high and iinm, are not that good for gaming.. Based on some articles, it appears that SB i7 brings about a huge performance leap from the Arrandale i7... Choices choices Good thing both can be upgraded~ 14" WLED HD+ Display (1600x900) 1.5GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive I'm thinking of getting SSD when the fund is available. the normal hard disk kinda bottleneck the performance. |

I look at the name list at the front page. there's only 7 M14x users. Why? because it's still new?

I've went to Dell Mid Valley yesterday and got my hands on Qosmio X770. It's about 2kg lighter then the M17x, which is about the same size. which make me wonder, why M17x are so heavy?

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 26 2011, 10:54 AM) To M14x users, do take note that the BIOS A05 version is out, which reduces the fan noise of the M14x's hair dryer open my M14x during a meeting. almost everyone there took a glance at me. i wonder is it because of the light show or the hair dryer sound You guys should try it out hehe~ http://supportapj.dell.com/support/downloa...n&catid=&impid= |

Anyone here include a 3D display and glasses with their M17x? How's the experience? is it good? after using it for a while, which do you prefer to play your game? normally or in stereo 3d?

QUOTE(kelvin_hata @ Sep 3 2011, 08:55 PM) What issue? the noisy fan? how can the bios fix the fan noise? by making it running slower? i hope not. I remember when i use a desktop with GTX 8800. The fan is quite noisy. then i replace it with another fan which i don't remeber the brand. it's not just quieter, but i notice the heat also build up more slowly then before. |

when at home, i plug my 24 inch LED monitor, mouse and keyboard into my m14x and turn the laptop into a CPU. But a friend told me that doing so too often may damaged the laptop onboard monitor, is this true?
