dunno wats going on with ur radio. but it's not recommended to pair 6x9 with a sub, the bass will cancel out each other.

better to remove the 6x9 and get a set of comp. u've got an amp for them right? mind to tell us wats ur whole setup like?

if u wan, u can try... and u will have to choose, ur ear rugi or wallet rugi. or u mean connecting the amp to 6x9 without the sub?

take the component system, 165 A1 or 130 A1, depending if ur door can fit which one. we mostly talk about component system (2 tweets, 2 midbass and 2 crossover) seldom we mention about coaxials(the tweeter and midbass are glued together). so when we talk about speakers, look for component system first.

ok, basically speakers are divided into 2 main groups, component speakers and coaxials. main pros and cons: component system are usually more expensive but has the ability to produce better sound quality, mainly for staging purpose since they have separate drivers/speakers. coaxials needless to say, they are cheaper and suits those who just wan some sound in their car.

What can a crossover do for you?

A crossover is any device that limits the range of frequencies sent to a speaker. Think of a crossover network as an audio traffic cop, directing highs to your tweeters, midrange to your midwoofers and low bass to your sub.

Without a crossover, a messy, sonic \"traffic jam\" results. Your midrange and sub duplicate too many of the same frequencies and your sub wastes time trying to put out high notes it wasn't meant to handle. A \"fatal pile-up\" could also occur, with your tweets being destroyed by some renegade tractor-trailer of a bass note thumping along in the wrong audio lane.

Because they're essential, you'll find crossovers in some form almost any time speakers are present. If your home stereo uses a pair of 2-way bookshelf speakers, it uses a 2-way crossover. Within this crossover, a high-pass filter blocks lows and passes highs to the tweeter while a low-pass filter blocks highs and passes lows to the woofer.

coaxials has no crossover. if u said u have onli tweeter, midbass and HU, why do u ask me if u have crossover? and yes, u need a crossover. dun tell me ur tweeter can play low frequency (bass)?

Added on April 6, 2009, 12:06 amnice sound... hmm... how nice is the nice sound that u wan? everyone has different standard, for me, AV Quart is cap ayam and i doubt it will give us nice sound. i myself used those cap ayam b4, but for real, those branded ones really sound much nicer. no need to spend like a few thousand for an amp to get nice sound, maybe something around 1k will sound gud enuf d. my suggestion is to save more, dun waste ur money on cap ayam, i regretted dat, but dats the hard way to learn ICE. now got ppl telling u to refrain from cap ayam if possible, so it's up to u to choose the hard way or the easy way. for ur current system, i think AV Quart will do no harm. and a reminder to all newbies, ICE is neva a cheap hobby.

leave it alone and go for other brands or get a 2nd hand, new ones dat cost rm500 hardly can find a decent one. can alwez check at different forum, like mycarhifi.com, and icehifi.com. dun try ur luck at lelong cos u might get conned.

wat u meant is power matching. example if u r trying to power a 300W rms 4ohm Single Voice Coil(SVC) sub, u will need something dat can give u minimum 250W @ 4ohm rms, of course, a little more like 400W rms @ 4ohm will be the best option as u have more control(headroom), cos u dun have to max out ur amp to move ur sub, less stress on both amp and sub.

wat i look in an amp, is the sound quality. have to listen to it, and have some recommendations from other ppl, and choose ur ideal amp.

buy zenn's audio system F4-260 la, 4x65w... sure enuf for u at the moment.

gilbert, save up another 1 or 2 months sure can reach 1k. ask bro zenn to reserve for u first. at least for 1k u will get a decent amp for gud will's sake.

i think u can just get a double din HU like the Sony XAV-W1 or alpine W202. price sure above 1k, but shud be less than 2.5k, not sure bout it cos multimedia is not my field, just trying to help u out.
if u wanna keep the current HU and add another HU better check if ur current HU got AUX in/out and get a HU with AUX in/out so u can combine them together.
3rd option is get another HU and dun combine them. means the current one acts as a reverse cam onli, while the new HU will play music. but will lose the ability to play dvd.

focal access used for rm500 onli, doesn't hurt much i guess.

pioneer, i think oso around 2k or so. i think cheapest is panasonic, about rm1.2k if i'm not mistaken. u can always browse along the garage sales section.

my opinion is to upgrade watever u can afford. i dunno anything bout ur financial status. there are ppl who spend 50k on a kancil. so, imho, a decent budget multimedia system shud be about 3k. spend 1.5k on HU, 500 on speakers, 500 on amp and 500 for installation. adding an amp will make a lot of difference in SQ.
another is higher budget but a full 4.1 car theater system. 1.5k for HU, 1.5k for a 5ch amp( for example, alpine MRV-F450, 1k for front and rear speakers, 500 for a 10" sub and box and 500 for installation. total 5k. not hi end but u will have a very decent theater system.

HU = Head Unit, ur dvd/cd player.

like dat we can't recommend anything la. u have to state ur budget, music preference, plan to add amp or change speakers, add sub?

can install the HU in the glove compartment... can hide from thieves and securing ur interior look.

dats called sq(sound quality) setup. boom boom style is spl. may we know wats ur budget and have done anything 2 ur sound system or all still stock standard? music preference? bear in mind, ice is neva a cheap hobby.
