QUOTE(one0202 @ Dec 30 2008, 06:59 PM) im using pioneer deh-4050UB HU....... and 5" component speaker..... in the 4050UB manual book, it say that this HU can drive sub without any amp.... is it true???? anyone do it before???? i want to add some little bass in my ice system, but amp is my last choice for now coz tight budget...... or i just need 6x9" rear speaker to add some bass???? any suggestion??? thankxx....... adding a pair of 6x9 will be the best solution for ur case. no HU in this world can drive a sub nicely... even midbass oso weak, let alone sub.

nothing i can suggest for dat price range, they r more or less the same without amp. i had a pair of lanzar 4way 6x9 last time, paired with blaupunkt amp, very powerful, like 10" subs. got it for rm300+ 5yrs back.

basically yes, u can use everything stock and add an amp and a sub.
As for the S60, any amp with 50w rms per channel will do. The rest is up to tuning, and budget to get a better amp for better sound.

dun get it wrong, crossover does not produce power, it just deal with frequency going into each channel. A monoblock is an amp, a 1ch amp to be exact. So u can use it for ur sub of course, as for how many watts, that depends on your sub.

amp yes, the more the better, but need to be clean and powerful, not just power, but since u r beginner, just take something powerful enough for ur sub la. The more powerful the sub, the harder to feed it, need thick cables, ample power, good box, and sound proof your car, unless u wan your car to vibrate like hell.

for sub, something like kicker cvr or rockford fosgate p1 series can d. as for the amp, i have no interest among them, not a single one of the kole is written in rms, onli max power, perhaps u can try the JBL CS60.4 amp or a cheaper option, blaupunkt GTA 480. dun waste ur money on cap ayam or itik, u will regret it if u progress further into ice.

perhaps just change the HU to 1 with crossover function, no need to buy an external crossover.
