hmm, 2 questions i have here cuz i'm thinking of buying SGS2 and that's gonna be my first android phone since i'm using symbian last time, pls answer it. really appreciate it much.

1) we root the phone in order to change the lockscreen and make the phone works better. so after we root the phone, can we update the phone like usual or we need to root it back again in order to update the phone?

2)what apps do we need to install in order for us to have chinese language inside the phone which is without chinese language at the first place?

thanks.

@oldkyoo

really liked your effort in producing the review. Read it all. This is really convincing me to grab the sgs2 when it is available here in m'sia.

Oh please, im not a teenager who gets upset over a phone. There are more things in life than a cell phone. To answer your question, the Incredible S UI is superior and is far more usable.

I just wanna add that the screen gets hot but i could be due to the extreme hot weather we've been experiencing.

I also sold my HTC IS to get this phone.. was thingking of Sensation. But that will be a loooong wait.

I've been obsessing over this phone since Atrix disappointed me with its locked bootloader and Motoblur.
So today I went to the SS15 shop, for the intent to take a glimpse at the phone. I do have my credit card ready though, in case the GS2 will impress me that much  whistling.gif
When I arrived at the shop, a guy was playing with the GS2, so I stood behind him and watched him play around.

I was not impressed.

This is just another smartphone. There's nothing special to brag about this phone.
Bland phone appearance.
Dual core? I still detect hints of lag during screen transitions.
Super AMOLED? Ok, the screen looks vibrant, but I usually dim my screens anyway.

I will still get this phone later, but I'm not impressed enough to pay the early adopter's fee.
Heck, I've been using the same phone for more than 5 years, it probably won't hurt to wait a few more weeks.

Boody true.. i have the same mind set and user behaviour too

1) you dont have to root your phone to change the lockscreen. Just dl any lockscreen apps in the market, ie widgetlocker
Most of Android user root their phone is to use custom rom or kernel or update faster or to use some features that your phone doesnt have.

2) This i don know because i'm "banana" laugh.gif

Are you talking about app piracy? If you are, GTFO. I never understand people who want to screw developers out of a coupla bucks for their hard work.

Don need root (JB is iphone term) to get paid apps for free. Price of one app doesn't cost you so much isn't it.
